Not really, why would they offer way over the value of the club (debts plus uncertain liabilites). They don't have any stake in the club at the moment, and don't have to progress their interest or bids.

it's like selling your house, you can tforce someone to make an offer (particularly if there's an unknown cost for a land dispute with your neighbour). Sort that out (is the land included or not) and we may still be interested, but at a different value.

True

The club is all important so if the administrators have to sell players for us to survive then I think it has to be done. .

The club was in a mess .

I hope we come out of it .

Today we are better off than yesterday and the fight for club survival has to go on

We know we had money for the first week of Feb prior to any sales.

£6m was the rough figure given to get us through to the end of the season.
9 homes games - £400k each at c20k gates = £3.6m+                                   [£2.4m shortfall]
£2m raised from selling Plange, Williams and Kellyman                                    [£0.4m shortfall]
Wages saved on Jagielka, Marshall, Shinnie and Baldock of around £400k   [£0.0m shortfall]

Hopefully that's it now.

Until we find a buyer who is willing to take us on.

This resembles a bitter divorce. But unlike a divorce we still potentally have to live and play with the other parties

Gibson is the cheating partner who wants to rinse every last penny he can get

EFL are the Judge and the Court (supposed to be neutral and fair)

The fans, Rooney and players are the children (innocent parties, who can't do anything)

Not sure quite what role Mel plays

He’s the car salesman from down the road with pampas grass growing outside his front door..

Yes, the point was Rooney asking have we got proof of funds after all the out-goings? If so can the embargo be lifted?

Weren’t we supposed to need £5million? We’ve raised maybe £2m assuming we are paid up front.

maybe wages are down , income up but still a bit short on cash flow .

in any case didn’t I read the embargo wouldn’t be lifted even if we did provide proof of funds?

Season ticket monies are released after each home game, so as GoC mentions above, that and non-ST ticket sales should bring in c£3.6m as well.

If we've only got enough cash to see us through to the end of the season, we're not going to be allowed to bring anyone in. Otherwise their wages are going to tip us back under that threshold.  We needed a surplus of cash to be allowed to spend some.  A preferred bidder putting £5m in would have done that. Going by @Ghost of Clough's figures, there's only been ~£2.4m of cash coming in + savings.

EFL tracker at present

Derby County

Regulation 16.2 - Failure to provide audited annual accounts

Regulation 16.3 - Annual Accounts not filed with Companies House

Regulation 17 - Default in payments to HMRC

Profit and Sustainability Rules - non-submission of audited accounts

Club in administration.

With the above i doubt the embargo can be lifted

We need a buyer and we hope that happens if we win arbitration / civil court case .

Nothing has changes on that front.

Shredding what's left of the squad for pocket money would surely not get us to the end of the season anyway. In any case, what does it solve ? More time to endure a stalemate while the people who can actually do anything about this shltshow posture and prevaricate. Kicking the can down the road a bit doesn't fix anything because decisions are usually only made when the clock is about to start chiming midnight. Make midnight 3 am and everyone sits down again and checks their phones while we wait. Extending the funding to see if we can shake off this travesty of Boro and WW 'football debt' is fine but after that ? I don't really see that extra time helps much.

I think the key one is that even under the embargo restrictions there was provision for *some* movement - the stance in January was an absolute "you're insolvent, we've got to see the money before you can sign any sort of contracts" which was frustrating, but, insolvent businesses generally get an awful lot of that.

With demonstrable funds for short term free agent contracts we should be able to bring in free agents on minimal wages. Obviously, at the EFL's discretion.

What’s it got to do with Gibson .

He should keep his nose out

The buyers need to stop playing games and be serious with sorting this mess out

It has everything to do with Gibson. He wants to screw Mel as much as he can. The first point in his open letter was have the administrators settled with Mel. It’s a personal battle of egos. I agree he should keep his nose out and he should drop his claim but he isn’t going to.

The buyers need to stop playing games? They will only buy for the right price, the easiest way to sort it out would be to pay over the odds. They are not going to.

You therefore have the negotiation game and brinkmanship going on and this will continue possibly until we reach another cliff edge. It will be horrendous for us as fans who are powerless and can do nothing apart from keep pressure on the various groups MPs, social media etc.

While the administrators are copping flak now and I completely understand why, we need to remember what a complex and horrific mess Mel has left, ridiculous debts way more than the club is worth, the stadium situation and a Middlesbrough claim that while it’s a nonsense has been on the table for over a year and Mel simply has not engaged and left the problem. These administrators were appointed by MSD as well as Mel, possibly they were the only ones willing to take it on?

It’s not been sorted yet because it’s a bloody mess and extremely difficult to sort.
