I think he was just unlucky to be caught playing Grabban onside for the first. Fluffed a few moves going forward which took the shine off. I'd still have played Festy at LB though. Feints the pass/cross/dribble/shot so well you never know which option he's going to go with. You can replay a move seconds later and he still tricks you ?
