How many times have you heard fans moaning about players performance, attitude, work rate...etc....then you hear fans say "we need a manager to sort this lot out"....then when we get a manager that has questioned at least 3...fans go the opposite way. Ill never understand our fan base. Well done Wayne Rooney for calling out Holmes...Well done Wayne Rooney for for saying Waghorn's attitude in training was unacceptable. Well Done Wayne Rooney for saying he wants more from Sibley. He was the best in this country...he wants the best given to Derby County. Long may he reign.

No one is criticising him for trying to sort it out, it's doing it in the public arena that's bothering a few of us.

Im glad he's been called out. About time someone has the balls to single out players. His performances like many others this season have been terrible.

We have a group of players that look like they care (but might not be good enough) and some that look like they aren't bothered.

Not every manager we've had in the psst 5 years is a bad manager. The players have to take responsibility. You're in a relegation battle. Get your head down, work hard and get out of it. Its not a time to be messing about.

This! 20/30k a week to put in half arsed performances is not good enough, regardless of if you’re leaving at the end of the season or not we’re paying your wages now so put some effort in at least!

Im pleased about it. Nowhere to hide for anybody with Rooney about. Why shouldnt the fans know who isnt pulling their weight everyday for Derby County. He has took over a side that was 6 points from safety. A real tough job. Hes got our heads above water. Hes fighting for us.

He's actually leading us back into the danger zone not away from it....and instead of publicly trying to shame previously energetic and enthusiastic players,he should be looking at his own man management skills to motivate them both on the training ground and on the field.

To be honest tho,our football has been so dour since he took over, barring the second half showing we witnessed last week, that I'm not surprised that discontent within the squad is starting to show.

Stop talking about it Wayne and start doing it.

Read the first two pages, not sure if it has been mentioned elsewhere, but Waghorn got sent off for a poor challenge against Preston, putting the team in a difficult position midway in the first half & we almost held on to get an unlikely point. He let the team down.

I think if we're going to call out the manager on every decision he makes, and he is not exempt from criticism , surely some of it should be also directed at the players who have got us in this situation, and specifically the older ones rather than the youngsters.

Bielik got sent off at a similar stage of a game, however, he is in his early 20s. Waghorn is 31, he is one of the senior professionals remaining and should be stepping up to help the younger players in the same way CKR has done so.

I think there is an issue of trust. We keep name-checking Sir Alex as an example to be held up against Rooney calling out players yet Sir Alex took years to develop his side until he found players he trusted, a nucleus from their own Academy.

Bielik has been a big loss, but I also think Curtis Davies is another player we have missed in terms of leadership & experience.

So he got rid of Holmes...which virtually everybody applauded. Had a word with Sibley who then scored a great goal to earn a point...and Waghorn...are you saying hes energetic and enthusiastic? When was that? If the season started when Rooney became manager we would be 10th. Thats with a squad Cocu had bottom.

Ermmm. Bielik. Loan players. No Rooney on the pitch.

Let's not ignore facts. This is not the squad Cocu had bottom.

12 points from 12 games without Bielik.

The beauty of man management is that there is no uniform approach. If Rooney sees fit to hang players out to dry in the media, that’s his style, that’s his prerogative.

But it’s probably wiser to take such an approach if your methods are proven to work and ignite change.

If they don’t produce better performances and results and have the desired effect - which as yet they have not - then Rooney is simply leaving himself open to more and more criticism.

Hold on. Cocu was allowed to splash a few million on Jozwiak. I bet Rooney wished he had that few million to spend in January.
