Fair comment.

So how about the thread gets renamed "The Politics (No longer banned, it seems), NHS disputes, and anything else remotely linked to coronavirus, but mainly politics thread"?

At least then, the reader would at least have a rough idea at what to expect.  As it is, the last few pages are so far removed from the thread title, it was like there was no relevance at all!  ?

No, don't worry, I'll remove myself from the debate, so this thread can get back to what it was before I first posted on here. Enjoy.....

Not sure I came on here to enjoy it.  ?
Was just taking a rare gander in here, to see what the latest was, and what my DCFC mates thoughts were on the subject.  Just expected more virus related chat I guess.  Gullible old me!

Anyway, don't leave on my part.  I've already decided there's nothing in here for me... much like cricket, beer, and Elton's Musik Twitter threads!  It'll be a while before I brave another gander, I should think.

Only popped back in this time, as your post cropped up in my notifications.
Apologies for the intrusion... and for sticking my oar in earlier!

?

Most of the armchair Socialists that occupy this thread are very comfortably well-off, middle class, forty-plus somethings. Their support of the downtrodden working man makes them feel superior.

Anyone got COVID at the moment?

Sorry I've not got back to you sooner, old chap. Finding time to deal with bankers between grouse shoots and champagne receptions is oftentimes something of a challenge. I do feel obliged to point out, however, that my support of the 'downtrodden working man' extends significantly beyond mere self-aggrandisement. Several are in my gainful employment even as I write, given the Mulsanne required a service. I trust you and they are suitably grateful, as such.

Thank you. Your response was both witty and informative. Had no idea what a Mulsanne was until I googled it. Personally I wouldn’t let any riff-raff work on mine if I ever had one.

I've been in Madrid since 28th December and masks are still mandatory on the metro. They all seem pretty relaxed about it, like they realise it's not that big an impostion

It’s a point of view / opinion I suppose , personally as you know I believe it’s massive imposition , China the most mask wearing nation you could wish for and covid is rife ??‍♂️
if your not we’ll stay home

Id be interested to hear about this

Please don’t get someone started. Otherwise we’ll end up with countless pages of folk quoting conflicting articles from so called experts and, somehow, manage to force another political opinion into a non political thread.

Beers

Labour policies (yes, supposedly they have some)

Tory inadequacies (they have quite a lot it seems)

Good TV and Film suggestions

Extinction Rebellion

The Ukraine War

@Stive Pesley’s latest pet subject

The Labour Party / Things that annoy me that should annoy me

Lots of other random stuff, BUT DEFINITELY NOTHING ABOUT COVID

Fair point. I guess I just found this thread seriously lost it’s way when political point scoring seemed to take over. A bit like the finance thread.
