Max Bird does what Ince and Lawrence don't do consistently - and that's show for the ball / pass and then move into space for the return or the next but one return pass. It makes it much easier as Bird always gives Rooney an out ball if he gets closed down. Another great performance from the young lad tonight - he needs to keep starting for us. Forsyth won his battle against Ince and Clarke was excellent against Vokes, who can be handy. The amount he won aerials and made clearances must be sky high. Rooney, Bird and especially Holmes...They made it look so, so easy. Platform to our win today. Rest of them played well too. Was suprised how easily Stoke broke down after looking like very solid unit the first 20-30 minutes. Helped to have Clucas running around like headless chicken and being too scared to tackle. Committed players forward when we needed to and defended in numbers when required too. It seemed like we had a little bit of confidence back in our play so the final ball worked for a change.
