Perhaps he's approaching as a white person who had family in Northern Ireland during the civil rights marches in the 70's.  Think they may know something about discrimination, or is that not hip now.  Perhaps they were too privileged.

Maybe.

I'm half Irish, born during that period and know nothing about it.

Are there parallels between that period and now?

Do you not. You really should if your half Irish like me. There's plenty of information about it.

Are there parallels.  I would suggest that's directed to someone in these crowds.  Perhaps the bloke with duck the cops placard. He's just down the road.

So you don't listen to black people unless they're politically aligned with Trump?

Thank for your candour.

How could the entire country be racist, that would make no sense at all?

Black people close to Trump, of course their must be, after all not everyone's experience is the same.

Why should black people have to better themselves, are they not good enough as they are?

There was a black community leader in London that was talking common sense a couple of years ago but cannot remember his name (my age), but my mother-in-law had died about the same time so lost track of him.  I don't follow anyone on social media because you get stuck in your own bubble then dismiss other peoples points of views because you end up being brainwashed.

My point was to prove America is not as racist as the protestors would lead us to believe although I accept they have problems.

Black people should better themselves so they can rise above victim status which exactly where the left wing and uni brats want them to remain forever.

Sorry but out of office now will spend all of my time on LSE forum this week.

John Barnes has apologies for a pornographic picture on twitter sent to him about Donald Trump.

When will people ever learn really proves my point.

When a follower suggested that Barnes should have cropped the photo, Barnes replied: ”Don’t know how to do that... I’m afraid to press buttons on this phone.

“I’m 56 yrs old, so happy to just be able to get one or 2 words out on twitter that people understand!!”

“People who say - authorities should take statues down after discussion. Yes. But it isn't happening. Bristol'sbeen debating #EdwardColston for years and wasn't getting anywhere. In 2018, it was agreed that statue would bear a plaque noting his involvement in the slave trade. BUT....”

Interesting read on why it’s so hard to change the plaque on a statue let alone take one down.

Tearing down statues is not a symbol of fascism. We went to the communist statue park just outside Budapest. They tore everyone of those statues down when the eastern bloc crumbled and moved them to a park so people could learn about them

. Tearing down statues is a symbol of freedom when the statue represents oppression

Best get burning down all branches of HSBC and Barclays then. Half of Liverpool and Glasgow will have to go and any number of national trust properties. Hope there's plenty of matches.   Where do you want to stop .

The problem for black people in the public eye is they are being told by BLM you are either with us or against us. Pity we don’t have a Candance Owens in this country.

You've brought her up about half a dozen times now and not got her name right once! Maybe she Can Dance, but her name is Candace

Could you post a link to where you originally got your quote from?

Why do you keep asking @uttoxram75 when you can simply Google it? Took all of 5 seconds to find the full sentence you originally requested. The full article is also out there via multiple sources if you want to read it.

“It is also true that the single market is of considerable value to many UK companies and consumers, and that leaving would cause at least some business uncertainty, while embroiling the Government for several years in a fiddly process of negotiating new arrangements, so diverting energy from the real problems of this country – low skills, low social mobility, low investment etc – that have nothing to do with Europe.”

Johnson's rather mystifying u-turn came as a result of a conversation with Lord Crosby who advised him to support Brexit as a 'strategic' policy. I choose my words carefully!

Were we not reliably informed that nobody would be stupid enough to drink bleach or cleaning products in the aftermath of Trump's suggestion that it 'might be worth a try'? It would seem otherwise...

Coronavirus: Americans drinking and inhaling bleach to try to prevent COVID-19 infections - study

Some 4% of those surveyed said they had drank or gargled bleach solutions, and 18% used household cleaning products on their skin.

Americans trying to prevent COVID-19 infections have reported cleaning their food and themselves with disinfectant and bleach, with some even inhaling or drinking the household cleaning products, a study has found.

According to research from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly four in 10 people (39%) admitted to actions the health protection agency would consider dangerous.

The study took place in May shortly after President Donald Trump publicly asked whether injecting such products could treat COVID-19.

Of the 502 adults surveyed, 19% said they had put bleach on food, including fruit and vegetables, while 18% admitted using household cleaning and disinfectant products on their hands or skin.

Some 4% had drank or gargled bleach solutions, soapy water or disinfectants, 6% had inhaled vapours from household cleaners or disinfectants, and 10% said they had misted their body with a cleaning or disinfectant spray.

Health officials have cautioned explicitly against such behaviour...

Sith Happens

I am trying to get my head around the logic that the protests only turn 'non-peaceful' because of police actions when protestors turn up with flares, smoke bombs and fireworks....

Maybe its normal stuff to carry round with you.
