I misread your opening line as this and thought that's why he's a bit tetchy today.

Stay on topic, don’t try so hard, otherwise you slip beyond your regular boring into the unknown of the uniquely tedious.

I just find it sad that we're 2nd in the table and Chris Martin lack of game time appears to the the motivation behind the criticism of Rowett who is thrown into this weird McClaren death bowl match up.

Steve McClaren was a very good head coach for Derby, he took us 90 minutes away from the main target. Should he have been sacked/reappointed/sacked or not you can argue that until the end of time, fact is he was and no longer the Derby head coach. Chances of him returning to Derby are pretty much zero, it really is time to move on.

Gary Rowett is a very good manager, took a poor Birmingham City team to the brink of the play offs and now Derby into 2nd, those that cannot give him any credit for the job and look to downplay or snipe at every decision and word spoke are quite simply embarrassing themselves.

It's ok not to enjoy a style of football, football can be played in many ways, there is no right or wrongs, but to not give credit where credit is due comes down to pride which when you really stop to think about it, it's ridiculous, sat behind a keyboard, a username and a photo pulled from Google Images.

The bloke is on for 2 manager of the month awards already this season, poor, ****, crap, whatever you want to call it managers do not win those regardless of the players at their disposal ask Nigel Pearson how many he won..

Chris Martin, quality striker at this level that is proven in games played and goals scored, scored one in every 218 minutes across his career, 1 in 2.5 games. Many different types of strikers, poachers or those that cover more miles than Mo Farah, each will fit a style that you enjoy to watch and that's fine, it's football, but to discredit him as a footballer and go around berating him like some kind of donkey is only making you look just as foolish as those discrediting Rowett.

We have had some absolute woeful footballers and managers walk through the doors at Pride Park, McClaren, Rowett and Martin are not 3 of those, in fact all 3 of those have played a part in taking this club from scrapping the drop to realistic return to the Premier League and in time, when internet trolling and male pride wear off, will all be remembered fondly and rightly so.

Finally, to state the bleeding obvious there was a Derby County long before these 3 and there will still be a Derby County long after they have gone, players, managers comes and go, if you find it hard to say goodbye maybe football isn't the sport for you as it's brutal out there.

What about us that don't have photos at all - we are a different breed ;)

LOL ! Seriously? How dare we criticise any regular 18s such as Alex Pearce like that! We’ve hit a new low for success. Just be in the 18 and you’re mint. Rock on mediocrity?

Martinites retreating and now lowering the bar further ... presumably based on visible green grass evidence.

Happy new year and hopefully everything you want to happen is considered

I like chris martin.

why?

1. He's our player

2. He has scored a load of goals for us.

3. He was loyal to us when he got shipped out to fulham

4. He seems like a good bloke.

5. I once saw him walking through Duffield.

i am immune to Ninos

We’ve probably never in our history had three more lethal, prolific performing strikers at the start of a season - than Vydra Winnall and Nugent - they’ve ferociously grabbed their chances. They’re unstoppable.

More delusional garbage from you. The team is doing well but Vydra is the only one of those whose scoring can be properly described as prolific. There are many teams round us in the table who have scored a similar number of goals, we are not outperforming them in terms of our scoring.  The sad thing is that you only make such stuff up to have a go at CM . Best not to wonder what is actually going on in your shrivelled little brain.

Has there actually been anything on Martin leaving during this transfer window other than someone saying Wolves may put a bid in because they tried to at the end of the last window?

Annoyed with Ed Dawes trying his best to convince people that Martin is going before the game on Monday, saying that if Martin comes on it will probably be his last at Pride Park in a Derby shirt. Absolutely no need for comments like that.

Dawes can be quite the knobber...in the same way he did his best to cause Mac issues unnecessarily...he has his own rightous agenda.

You never see him.and ninos together..just saying

It's a good job you weren't around in 1975/76. We only had Hector, George, Lee and Rioch - you would have slashed your wrists.

Martin was employed to score goals and for a couple of seasons did this - it was his job!

We are now into season 5 and he has declined since season on season - time is here if GR was to ship him out and bring in someone who will fit this new style.

Martin was a good servant  - TBH we should never have took him back from Fulham, what a waste of money that has been, extended contact big buck wages and for what?

Time to move on, time for Derby to bring in a quality CF that will fit GR style of football and not another one trick pony!

Think you are half right , where you go wrong is to disrepectfully call him a one trick pony and that rightly gets some fans backs up ,, Martin is not a one trick pony ,he has lots of tricks in the right type of team for him , he can hold up , he can link play ,he can hit a free kick,he can score a variety of types of goals and he is good defensively on set pieces ,

where you are right is that he doesn’t really fit into our style now and I am now of the opinion that it’s time to cash in and bring in a pacy ,powerful striker who can run channels , pull defences around , press defenders from the front with pace and power and nick goals

I haven't seen a single thing about Martin leaving, but an out of favour, top quality striker surely will bring in some interest? and with Rowett eager to ship some players out, surely Martin will be sold if the right bid comes in?

It does seem that he's now our 4th in the pecking order and I think a move away from the club benefits both parties and I can't see him being a Derby player after this window. To be fair to Chrissy, he deserves more than being 4th pick. It's a shame to see such a talented player rotting away on our bench.

Obviously, without a bid, he remains a Derby player, so Ed Dawes comments are bang out of order.
