deanoakaram4life
We are mirroring the Newcastle team that went down last year. A lot of talent on paper, but no fighting spirit! The worrying thing is that macclaren had a 80 million war chest at the toon for their "rebuild" ?

Put out a half bakes team v fester to concentrate on three winnable home matches....win none of them. Lose the next two away matches to teams who "really need a win"..... We've lacked consistency and we're more streaky than a Ib of bacon! We do need to change the squad up a bit, again, I'd go for selective evolution rather than "sell all the players!" Then "buy all the players" but a summer of slimming the squad and bringing in some young, good and on the up players to play our way is what we need. A five minute chat with Nigel clout about who he'd love to sign if had more than a pot to urinate in for a transfer budget would f better than our recent recruitment drives. Cloughie would sort him out in less than 5 minutes at a mere fraction of the cost he was going to spend too.

Add in Russell and Hughes as the "played for him before" (he ave Carson England caps as well - so we can presume e likes him) so, at most half a team........... The Scarlet Pimpernel
None of us are really in a position to make a knowledgable call as to wether he stays or goes. Personally if he feels he has a plan going forward I am in favour of giving him the close season, pre-season and then see how next season unfolds. You can be certain Mel is very much involved with Steves inner thoughts on his way forward and his view of the players and their value. If Mel smells that Steve hasn't got a way forward then he will be gone. If he he feels he has a way forward which involves getting rid of the freeloaders without costing Mel mega bucks then he may be given a chance. Make no mistake this isn't easy. Speaking to Owen Bradley tonight after the game Steve eluded to the fact he presents to us differently to the players privately and hinted that he has known all along the squad isn't good enough. If this is true he will have been required by Mel to have the way forward. This needs to be understood. Basically Steve now has a massive job on his hands to convince Mel and Sam that he has a plan and a formula.

Inverurie Ram
Is it Steve McClown doing a runner? or is it is best mate Alpha on his way to Saudi to watch his mate Clattenburg referee? At least when it p1sses it down we no longer have to worry about bumping into the wally with the brolly, more chance of bumping into McClown in town with his suitcase. I wonder if he keeps his leather A4 folder in it? wally with the lolly..........and it's all Derby's lolly, once again!
