The EFL are gunning for our relegation, whilst Sky continue to parade us for their product because we're one of the few teams in the league that can pull in a reasonable number of viewers - both from our supporters and those that can't stand us.
A penny for their thoughts on this situation BTW.

I’m not saying it’s bad but my current starting XI for next season has CKR at centre-half

Players deserve the wages that clubs can afford to pay. I have no problem with Pogba earning nearly £300k a week when United are turning profits. Agents, they're there for a reason and it's very complicated, but there is definitely measures that could be put in place that hinders their ability to earn fortunes. Agents, by and large, will look after their clients whilst football clubs want their pound of flesh for as little as possible. It just gives players someone who should be an expert in making sure they're not going to paint themselves into a duff deal because headline figures have swayed them. I think some have overstepped their role to say the least.
The focus should be on putting a system in place that all clubs can benefit from. It's not easy and no system will ever be perfect. However, the FFP limitations has only worked to create a more rigid football pyramid than ever before, with the financial aspect of the game becoming almost as dominant as the product on the pitch. I still retain the belief that no club should ever be punished for 'over-spending' when there are teams in the same division with significantly higher wage bills.
The year we had a wage bill sat at £40m, I believe our highest point, we had the 7th highest wage bill in the league, 35% lower than the team that knocked us out the play-offs, Fulham. We spent money to compete. At no point were we even close to being the highest spending team in the league. The irony is that if you are successful and get to the Premier League then you avoid all punishment - Leeds wage bill in their promotion season was at £78m (although I can't quite get my head round it).

Not sure of the brexit rules but any overseas players that we can afford to offer a contract aren't likely to be eligible for a work permit are they?

Disappointed with how this one has turned out. I really hope he gets himself back on track.
I would say it doesn't help our situation, but in truth it probably doesn't matter.

International management is a completely different ball game to club management. You work with the players for a very small amount of time. It's almost impossible to have any impact in their professional development, which will be down to their managers and coaches at club level. It's then a case of coming up with tactics which aren't over-complicated and easy to get everyone singing from the same hymn sheet because of said time limitations.
Southgate has created an environment that I can't remember any other manager being able to achieve for England. The cliques in the golden generation squad undermined everything that they could've achieved. Southgate seems to have everyone on the same page and pulling in the same direction. The fact that he's not Guardiola tactically really doesn't impact us that much, because it's hard to take players from 16 - Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Atletico, Villa, Leeds, Everton, Dortmund, West Ham, Brighton, Wolves,  Sheff Utd & West Brom - different teams and get them all playing to a fine tuned tailored game plan straight off the bat isn't plausible.

Mel did it only for the reason to raise the clubs profile to maximise his return on a sale. I bet if we picked through the sponsorship agreement with 32 Red that it wouldn't even look as tolerable as we were once to believe.
Mel saw how Lampard's presence lifted the club's profile and jumped straight in with Cocu (on a seriously high wage for the Championship) and Rooney (again on a seriously high wage for the Championship) whilst systematically cutting the fat elsewhere.
In hindsight, we can look at the last 24 months now and see that we've been paraded around like defective show pony with the sole purposes to create a sale rather than a football club looking to compete. Now, we look one bad parade from being put down.
