I think fans are very unfair on him to be honest.
They all think they have the answers and they all think they are managers 😂 lol

Yeah, one game against Lincoln City’s reserves in a Mickey Mouse cup competition no one cares about and he’s a tactical genius…😂

With all due respect, at Rotherham and all that comes with being at Rotherham.

And yes, we may have been short on time, but I wish we hadn't signed the likes of Hourihane. Just because we've heard of someone, or they've done something 5 years ago, doesn't mean they're any good now.

Hourihane would be amazing in a team that played actual football but when you’re playing pub team football it’s hard to shine. Even so his stats are still pretty decent.

And that’s a fact is it?

No, it’s an opinion but let’s compare notes in 12 months when we’re still in this division with Warne still playing square pegs in round holes and his team averaging 2 shots on goal in 180 minutes of hoofball as has been the case in the last 2 games.

Only told he’s the one we want, not that he’s signing.

Also, was told today by a different (and much more reliable) source that David Clowes has absolutely not interest in sacking Paul Warne and wants him to be in charge for the long term. Which may be even more depressing than my exam tomorrow.

Well if that’s the case then Mr Clowes better start preparing for 15,000 crowds and the revenue coming into the club decreasing dramatically over the next couple of seasons.

The fans will be going somewhere at that’s not to Pride Park or away matches. Just under 28K on Saturday including a sold out away section of more than 3K. Portsmouth is a plum fixture too, a proper club. I reckon we have already lost 2-3 K ‘floating’ supporters. Warne will get a stay of execution because we have a run of fixtures against minnow teams now so will probably get some results. Also players like Bird coming back. But it won’t last. It’s not improving and it looks very like the players don’t really want to play for him to me

This is exactly what I thought on Saturday looking around the ground. This should have been a sell out but people are starting to vote with their feet. I was in one of the hospitality sections and after half time the majority of seats around me were empty; the punters preferred to stay inside with the blinds drawn!

I really don't get this wrist slashing. Yes it was a dour affair and atm we look like a mid table outfit. But hasn't 17 managers since 2007 shown you anything. Hire and fire doesn't work does it. We are still shopping in Poundland for players and that's where we're at. Sacking the current management team won't name the slightest bit of difference....

Of course it will! Any manager or coach we appoint who plays actual football on the deck and not the hoofball garbage we are currently enduring will have this lot challenging for top six minimum within weeks. This squad is easily good enough for that; it’s  the management that are holding us back.

  7. I voted no because it’s the worst football I’ve seen us play since Rowett was here. And even then, though I hated it at least his team was organised and in the main, effective.
In all honesty I loath Warneball so much that if he is still here next season I am not going to renew my ST. I am not travelling 230 miles every other Saturday with all the costs that that entails to watch that kind of football.

Who would want this poison chalice of a job.
Why can’t we just give Warne a chance.
He is on a 4 year contract.
Rome wasn’t built in a day

Chance to do what though?! It doesn’t matter what players we have, how much money he gets to buy new players now or in the future, what the budget is etc. The football he makes the team play regardless of the players in it is absolute garbage. The worst kind of clueless hoofball that virtually any team with any tactical nous can defend against and overcome. It’s not about giving him time etc, nothing is going to change! He has one tactical formation, one style of play; occasionally he has to deviate from it but he always goes back to it!

I don't think the expectation is too high. Ambitious at this point. I think it should be more a case of managing your expectations.  Warne inherited the team last year. This year is his first attempt "to build HIS team" . They have only been together for a handful of games. They need some time.

Weren't Manchester United looking at sacking Ferguson after around 6 or 7 games. Didn't do too badly did he. And before those of you who will say, Warne is no ferguson and Derby are no MU. I am purely saying manage those expectations and be a little patient.

For me it’s not about expectations or being patient as such. I wouldn’t really care if we were mid table if the football was good and I could see where we were going with it, but it’s the utterly awful style we are playing, the mind numbing intransigence of trying to force a system on players regardless of the fact that when we play four at the back we are much better and get better results. It’s maddening and he isn’t going to change; he clearly only wants to play his system and that’s that. This squad playing for a competent manager who plays actual football would be a massive contender for the autos or playoffs and most of us Rams fans know it, hence the expectations and frustrations on here.

So frustrating reading this thread. Too many waiting to say warne out at the first chance of things going against us.

We just lost to the best team in the league 2-1 with 10 men and a few pen shouts.

3 pts from pboro and bolton away is not a bad return.

Get behind the team plenty of games left!

The best team in the league? The one that lost 4-0 in their last home game and scraped a draw against Burton last week? Give over.

Not spinning anything, just pointing out things that actually happened which were conveniently left out of your argument.

FWIW, not arsed either way about PW. Just sick of seeing rubbish, unbalanced posts.

    Ta.

My ‘argument’ is simply that I want to see a Derby County team that plays decent attacking football through all areas of the pitch including midfield, not the hoofball garbage this clown of a coach keeps insisting on playing. The individuals we have in the squad are good enough to compete for a top six place, but under Warne we are going nowhere. The only ‘unbalanced rubbish’ I’m seeing is on the pitch.

The frustrating thing is I genuinely believe we have a squad capable of controlling games with the ball on the deck. The midfield is by far the strongest area in our squad and for some reason we're constantly bypassing it, lumping it long and wondering why Washington or Waghorn don't win anything against their massive center halfs. It would be a little bit easier to tolerate if it came with defensive solidarity like Rowett offered but we don't really have that either.

There’s only one reason: the intransigent, tactically inept, glorified fitness coach we have as a manager. He literally has no other plan or tactic than lumping it.

Is this satire? I can’t decide

Why do you think its satire? We've beaten one of the better teams in the division, now we need to prove we can do the same against the other's at their level? If we do that we might be in with a shout of the top six.

Check the dictionary definition of satire if you don't understand what it is.

But the players Rosenior signed didn't get us promoted. So how well did he really sign? Warne's budget seems no better than Rosenior's. I think we have to wait until next season to see what we are really able to sensibly spend, when the EFL cannot hang their nose over every postage stamp we choose to use.

They might have done had DC given Rosenior a fair crack at it.

  15. 11 hours ago, oodledoodle said:

Nobody expects promotion, but expecting to compete on the pitch is more than reasonable.

Are you really happy that we saw less of the ball than Burton and Fleetwood? I'm not. It's anti football, and Derby fans won't stand for it. It'll be what costs Warne his job if he doesn't sort it.

Absolutely this. I cannot stand this ugly basic one dimensional s**** we are currently playing. If he is still here next summer and we are still in this division I won’t renew my ST because I just can’t face another season of this dross.
