Chelsea did the same...but threw them on their own fans below on the terracing, Leeds in their game threw the seats at us as we were on the terracing, Derby lads climbing up onto the barbed wire and into the Ossie seats to get a little retrebution, Which they did.
Mike Waterson said after that game "we have our own Lunatic Fringe" well Mike look what you started ?

We climbed up straight after Archie scored the penalty.
Leeds fans are still in denial about that.

We watched it happen from the Popside and saw the chaos in the seats as it kicked off. Hundreds left the Vulcan Street Popside and ran round to the Ossie End.

I remember the Charity Shield game. I was there with two mates. We came out of the stadium with the 'battle' in full flow and the Derby fans seemingly on top of the situation. We opted for going in a different direction to the way the Hammers were running and made it back to the special train at Wembley Central without incident, fortunately. Much later I heard about certain lads from Chadd ripping up a railing and charging the Hammers, and also the story about the Ilson miners. Given West Ham's reputation at the time, it must have come as a nasty shock to them.

I was there that day , went down on the train with my mate. We had a few drinks in the pub and it was all good natured with the hammers fans and then a good result for Derby but as you said it was afterwards that it all kicked off. As we came down the steps we were met with a hail of bottles and bricks thrown at us. In the carnage that ensued I got split up from my mate ( no mobiles then)and had to catch the tube back to the station on my own crammed in with loads of WH fans trying not to make eye contact with anyone so I didn’t have to speak and give my accent away. It was such a relief to find him at the station and get back on train home. Good day out though ?

Altho a neutral ground Wembley 1975 Charity Shield, On a very hot August day 50 of us from Chadd clamboured on the bus in good heart to play WHU, On the way down on the M1 meeting shedloads of Derby fans, We park up at the stadium and head for the Greyhound pub at the back of Wembley, Just our lot at 1st, Then it slowly started to fill up with WHU, Don't know to this day how it kicked off but it did, We got busted and rescued by the Police yet again.
After the game we could see the hammers fans leaving from the other side, A 2-0 win then we see the presentation and leave in good voice, Until just getting out of the ground the greeting of 100s of lads waiting for us, We had one lad K O'Rielly one of the toughest men I knew stood on the steps taking them on, A man on his own he was screaming at us to charge, Well it was a case of getting clumped by the hammers or get a beating in town by KO, Slowly but surely more and more Derby were coming out of the ground a little like a cork from a bottle of champaigne, It looked to be numbers in our favour, Clouds of dust and lads going "hammer and toe" the police were shocked at the leval of violence lads at each other with whatever came to hand, Derby had the day with WHU lads mooching off.
It wasn't until a little later we found that our ranks were filled with some of Derbyshires finest coal miners, Who waded in with scafolding poles and planks that were left from building works at Wembley.
I'm told that in Bill Gardners book (a nutter of a WHU fan) that he admitted through gritted teath that Derby won the day, And his "mile end boys" took a beating...crazy days the 70s.

I’ve heard about this day from my dad and his mates numerous times over the years, his account is almost identical to yours, especially the bit of about KO!

Hartlepool FA cup on a pitch that was worse than the BBG, A good few of us went in the Hartlepool end 50+, Not a lot to show...until 20mins before K Off, Middlesboro came in known as the "Frontline" we didn't know at the time, More and more came in, Vastly out numbered, Backs to the wall stuff, Rescued by OB, Quite a buzz tho... We were holed up at a place called Seaton Carew wow what a tip, Went in their local, Full of old men all huddled around the TV/Video, We asked the landlord what's with all them old boys, Dirty beggers they are...all come in the watch Baywatch that I tape for them, They're not allowed to watch at home?

In a court of law character references are normally used after the defendant has been found guilty to mitigate the following punishment which will be handed down to them.
In employment law the balance of probabilities can be used if it's a one person's word against anothers scenario so a person's previous good character then can be used to determine the outcome.

Ed Dawes kicked off about this on Sportscene last night. He had a good old rant about the wall of silence from the club that they and other local journalists face when they seek answers. They're clearly as frustrated as the fans are.
Speculation fills an information void, so the club hierarchy cannot be surprised by the direction the narrative on social media is taking.
I fully understand the possible need for secrecy and discretion on takeover and financial matters in difficult times, but "say nothing" has a limited lifespan. They need to make a statement before the next fixture that gives us at least an outline of the current situation.

There's nothing POMPOUS in your post, It's an opinion, I said in the Derby/red dogs thread that it was a Red Card, It just shows how opinion can divide people, Was he off balance? could be, Did he do it on purpose? could have, You don't have to know the game to witness what was shown, Initially when live on TV, It was a coming together from a header...no big deal, But with replays whether in slo-motion or normal speed I can see why he was banned for 3 games, Those that deal with the viewing of the incident i'm sure are ex pros and maybe a ref thrown in for good measure...
I don't follow this "If you know Forsyth it's not in his nature", How many on here who post have done something out of character?
Officials missed it, Just like they missed all the big decisions, Was this out of character or were they just p*ss poor?
It certainly gave the powers that be another stick to beat us with
