Maybe if Bristol City had acted sooner, we might have seen the trickle down effect.

Disappointing? Maybe. A disgrace? Not when we are the mercy of the EFL (and other clubs know this!) who have to ratify deals first and foremost and it’s not something they will do on an if, but or a maybe.

Put a deal sheet in and tell Bristol to hurry up. Or tell them to hurry up at 5 and threaten to cancel the deal if they don’t seal it pronto. 
 
Plus we had a whole month to address this issue. 
 
No way should we be going in to the run in with 1 fit striker. I’m sorry even Burton and Carlisle have signed a striker. Dreadful.

Carlisle signing a Rotherham striker who Warne signed. Think he’s a crock to be fair but still what’s going on? 
 
They were also gutted not to be unveiling Charlie Wyke, worth a punt? 

If we can’t get a striker in then it’s a very bad job.

All realistic options if it’s £2m for Bird.

Cant see JCH coming because we’re competing for the same prize. But if we end up with Gregory or a codger in similar vein then questions should be asked.

Decent striker please and no Smith on principle. 
 
No excuses now though.

Gone but loaned back suggests a small fee. Only puts more pressure on us to sign a decent striker now.

I‘m not his biggest fan but not sure £1m would be worth the hassle of us trying to bring in 2 players in such a short space.

Depends on the fee and whether Pearce and co can earn their corn with just under 6 hours to go. 
 
Wouldn’t let go for less than £2m at such short notice. 
 
Sign a replacement on loan and go after Langstaff? 

Happy for Bird to go if we sign another on top.

If Gregory was our 4th choice target, we would have still been talking to them in case our 3 preferred options fell through. On days like today, you need to have every option on standby.

Understand that and hope LC and DD are playing with the fans. But starting to get a little nervous that nobody else is being linked.

Moaned about Dom and Leigh earlier, wish i hadn't, their latest tweets aren't filling me with hope. Was Gregory really our main target today??

Minor moan, I wish we had a local journo to stir the pot. Whilst Leigh and Dom are both excellent at their actual jobs. They very rarely speculate on potential targets, just confirm a signing when it’s obvious it’s done.

Not a big deal but just a little moan.
