It’s a good job these players weren’t around in the Covid season then. I agree, it must help to have a decent crowd cheering you on (or not as is sometimes the case) but professional footballers should be able to motivate themselves to perform at a much higher standard than they did last night. So, I agree with your first three words. Just a shame your 4th word was “but”.

They should be able to but they're only human. A lot of people probably didn't have much motivation in their jobs the week leading up to Christmas? Why not? They're still being paid.

Ultimately fans can be upset over last night especially the ones that went. But some of the hysteria i saw after last night was unjustified as last night will mean nothing if we go up. In fact if that happens I imagine most of us will be singing the players praises for a fantastic season.

The “ 2 men & 2 dogs” are the hardcore fan base. And the players still get their £10k a week . Is the F A Cup “Tinpot”? Because we have gone out of all 3 cups at home to lesser opposition.

I accept your point and kudos to the hardcore fan base for turning up.

Not saying we should be losing to Bradford and the performance was obviously dreadful. But ultimately Warne will be judged on our league performance and will most of our fanbase be upset with our cup performance if we go up? I wouldn't say so.

If we don't go up then Warne will no doubt be judged on his failure in all competitions and then the questions over his future can be asked and debated fair game.

FWIW I don't have much time for the FA Cup either, but i accept i'm probably in the minority for that.

Are we blaming the fans that didn’t come ?Was the first half midfield worse than the 2nd half ? Because the 2nd half midfield lost the game . We don’t want a third home loss on the bounce v Burton next Monday.

Not blaming fans, but must be hard to get motivated in front of two men and their dogs.

Anyway this Mickey Mouse cup is more of a cherry on top of the cake…If we would’ve won the cup and not got promotion, who cares? If we get promotion but no cup, who cares? If we would’ve achieved both then it would be nice, but alas that’s only a dream now.

  4. Not sure how the majority of fans can say anything about tonight. If we had sold 25,000 there’s no way Bradford would’ve won.

Like I said pre match, it was an inconvenience we could do without. The real losers are the likes of Sibley, Elder, Fornah etc who looked off it when the responsibility was on their shoulders.

I've said similar already today in one of the transfer threads, but sites like this just seem to slap our name on an article because they know it will drive engagement. It's usually based on a tweet or half arsed unnamed 'source'. We might end up signing one or two of the players we get linked with, but only because we are currently being linked with bloody everyone.

Not having a go at you @Oldben, just noticing a pattern in this window and the way it gets covered.

Wrexham are flavour of the month as well when it comes to links.

This is where local journos should earn their corn but they can’t release anything without the clubs permission I imagine.

  6. As the previous two posters have alluded to, Warne was very complimentary of Wigan's attackers before the season starter.

Not sure why his numbers are so down this season but i'd be happy with this signing for sure.

Also a little revenge if we do get him on cheap for how they stole Shinnie in our time of need.

Niall Ennis, Blackburn forward, who had some success at this level with Plymouth, of interest to Barnsley, Bolton and Charlton on a loan according to Nixon. Should we be joining that queue?

    Certainly an option.

Feel like there’s a few strikers who could potentially come in. But can’t see much happening before the last few days of the window.

  8. Pretty sure Lincoln fans weren’t that impressed by Diamond. Saw one say he had his best two matches against us.

Without knowing the ins and outs of his alleged misdemeanour it’s impossible to say whether or not we should sign him. But seeing as Warne is so anal about signings having to be a Good Samaritan I somewhat doubt we’ll be in for him.

  9. I can’t say there’s anything in particular that looks different. Think most on here have nailed it already; we’re fitter and have a better understanding of what Warne wants.

Im very concerned about the last 10 matches though as it’s well documented that a Warne side drops off, as we did ourselves last season. A couple of signings could remedy this but so far it’s been quiet on the transfer front.

  10. Like any cup competition. Complete waste of time until you magically find yourselves in the last 8 and then at that point you may as well go to win it.

I guess with us being one of the stronger teams in the trophy maybe it’s a bit more realistic to go for the win from the off. Which I believe is what Warne is going. But I wouldn’t shed any tears over an exit.

  11. Worth noting that NML put out is helping Collins. NML has seemed to take on Didzys role of magic match winner which leaves Collins to play to his strengths. Looking good for his goals return, just need a wide man and some competition up top to strengthen us.

Hate to say it but chaos seems to reign defensively whenever Bradley plays. We were told heading etc was his strength and with his height it should be…. But he’s useless in the air.

Yes…. Cue the ‘it’s early yet- he may come good’ comments- but to me he looks like a disastrous acquisition and a massive waste of money (wages-wise)..

No doubt about it. I imagine if Warne had a Time Machine we wouldn’t have gone through with the deal.

Has there been mention of an optional year for Bird? I know it was reported for Cashin (and Knight before him) with both subsequently being activated, don’t remember seeing anything for Bird?

I don't believe Bird has this option.

It'll be compo, sizeable in comparison to most due to his experience and matches played, but less than what we would like i assume.

The other major difference is Azaz was played as a left sided forward last season (in their 3421). This season he's the most advanced of the midfield 3 (433). Boro have robbed Villa though - there's no way he should cost as little as £2m.

To Villa it’s probably less hassle to let him go for £2m than hold out for more and nobody else comes in. Plus better for the player to sign permanently as opposed to keep being loaned out, Villa hoping that others will see that they don’t hold players back when recruiting for the academy?

You must be a youngster 😉

Eranio was doing his thing just as I started getting in to football. Thought he was a midfielder and then panicked after someone said fullback wiki’d him and it says winger. So only got myself to blame for not backing my instincts 😂
