BOB BIGGS reacted to EtoileSportiveDeDerby in Wiil you be disappointed if we finish outside the top 2???
There was a point when i thought will we see the Rams at PP again?
We will and that is plenty for me, Football fans have got very short memories but we shouldn't forget how bleak it was off the field those past few months. Let's enjoy the season and see where it takes us

Disappointed? No. I don’t even expect us to finish inside the top 2.

BOB BIGGS reacted to Sparkle in Liam Rosenior
Far too much was fragmented previously with far too many personalities at play - a sale will be much simpler now with just an agreed price for everything.
-
BOB BIGGS reacted to Day in New manager, who do you want?
We have to offer Rosenior first refusal, he might not be the right long term option, however given the timing of all this we are left with little choice.
There will be a list of targets which he will have been involved with the discussion, likewise renewals with those that are expiring, a plan going forward and we have to stick to that as much as we can.
We don’t have the time to create a new owner vision for the future and conduct a thorough interview process.
Bring players in, give us a squad to compete and use this season to get appointments behind the scenes right and review the first team management next summer.
Oh and please, please please no Nigel Clough, it’s been a rough year as it is, a return of Nigel would destroy the remaining bits of my soul right now. Thankfully he hasn’t spoken that fondly of his time at Derby, I hope that grudge he has is as strong as ever.

How do you know he knows Clough would return?
I hope and pray Warnocks' decision to retire is non-negotiable.

BOB BIGGS reacted to Alan Ramage 4 EVA in King Kevin Hector
I went to the Neptune yesterday to meet Kevin .He was really pleasant a really nice man very down to earth .I had a long chat to him a few of the things he said ,which I`m sure he wouldn`t mind me disclosing.
Were that TIM Ward was a real gentleman probably to nice to be a manager. How he was overlooked by leeds because Don Revie said he was too small,he talked about his second spell with Derby how he came into a poor side and in his last match how he gave away a penalty and scored aginst Watford. He never got sent off and only got booked for "silly" things like kicking the ball away He has lived in the same house for 50 years he even kept it while he was playing in Canada. And the ONLY reason he didn`t participate in 72 anniversary was he was on holiday in Spain else he would have attended he`s still in touch with the ex players especially Big Rog .He told me he ran the ex Rams but no longer since he has given up playing football even walking football.
There is a saying "never meet your heroes" NOT in this case.

BOB BIGGS reacted to uttoxram75 in King Kevin Hector
I first saw Kevin Hector play in 1969/70 season as a 9 year old. Up til then i thought the best players in the world were Bobby Moore and Bobby Charlton. Hector was not far off that that level. A magnificent footballer, on the worst pitches, attempted murder with every tackle from the dirtiest players of all time (most of em played for Leeds), yet he glided over the field scoring and assisting goal after goal with a coolness and skill that would be worth £50m in todays football market.
Met him a few times and played against him once when he turned out for the DCFC old boys team. Absolute legend. Never a bad word to say against anyone.
He was quiet, polite, humble yet friendly and funny and more than ready to talk about the team that was the best in England for many years.

BOB BIGGS reacted to LazloW in The Administration Thread
Once this has all been sorted out (and it will be sorted out), then what will continuing to sing about him achieve? I don't think it will 'tarnish his name' , not least because his name is pretty tarnished already amongst people who will care. Outside the football world, nobody will either know about or care about a few chants. It will be best to move on, forget this sorry little period and look to a hopefully brighter future.

BOB BIGGS reacted to Rev in What is your favourite song of all time?
It's a terrible question, in that if you asked me every day for a year, I'd give you 300+ answers!
So much of the enjoyment of music is down to mood, environment, company, etc, that I find it hard to believe people who can name the one song and stand by it.

BOB BIGGS reacted to Geriatram in A very sad post
My friend has not long left of his life, He has terminal cancer and has maybe only weeks to live. He had his first season ticket when he came out of the army in the mid fifties, and has had it every season since, and then when he married in 1963 his wife had one too, they never missed a home match, but then covid came along and they have not been again. We have a mutual friend who lives in the USA he is in the UK this week end and is taking my friend to what is likely to be his last match ever. I'm just hoping if there are any protests it wont affect the match. So please spare a thought or a prayer if your so minded on Saturday. I wont say his name as he hated social media as much as he loved the Rams. So UP THE RAMS P will be thinking of you.

BOB BIGGS got a reaction from David Graham Brown in The Administration Thread
I think it’s based on desperation for success. I’ve lived in the North East for the last 40 years or so. I have good mates who are Newcastle or Sunderland fans. Most of them are extremely passionate about their team and unrealistic in their expectations. I don’t hold that against them, most football fans are.
Ashley didn’t go out of his way to endear himself to Newcastle fans. That didn’t help the relationship.
He’ll do for me though if he saves our Club?

BOB BIGGS reacted to angieram in Fozzy Testimonial
It's not about the money, it's about showing our appreciation for a player's loyalty.
All these years and Fozzy has never had his own song, never been the hero. He's just Mr Dependable.
I think it would be well deserved.

BOB BIGGS reacted to CBRammette in The Administration Thread
Its brave of you to come on. We all know the issues under MM's tenure - he conned us all too but the problem is we as a club have been punished so very very much by the EFL in various ways. Only Derby fans know the detail of everything that has been done. So Unfortunately the "Derby are all cheats" line pedalled by your chairman and others saying we still need to punished more via these claims is why we have such a totally negative view of your chairman. We have no funds to settle a claim and having to do so will lead to liquidation - other creditors wont agree to a proposal where they get less. So SG's actions and soundbites do not reflect just how much we have been punished already by the EFL and how perilously close to extinction we are. You seem certain he will withdraw the claim when we get to the wire. We are across the wire in no-mans land in broad daylight wearing a fluorescent jacket and still he persists. So that explains our hostility to him
