Definitely 5 but you still can’t ignore what tiny glimmer of hope there might be.
The only positive for me (assuming we don’t get liquidated) is that, given how desperately unlikely it is that we will stay up, the defeats don’t get me down as much as they would normally.
Can you imagine the mighty let down it would be if, by some miracle, somehow we managed to close the gap and only needed to avoid defeat in the last game away at Blackpool? The away end would be sold out (as it will be anyway) and there would be a bit of a party atmosphere (as there will be anyway). It would be incredibly tense and we end up losing.

I think I have been at acceptance stage since we went into admin... really if the wish fairy had said due to cutbacks she could only offer two wishes instead of three, one of them would be to ensure we still have a club even if we have to accept dropping into League One.

I always thought we had a good case against the 12 point deduction but was never sure whether it would make any difference to us as we had so many other problems anyway, and so it seems to be turning out.
My anger is at the whole situation, and by no means do I only blame Mel Morris. The whole system is corrupt, including the Sky TV money, the EFL, the Government closing the stadium without compensating the club . Maybe HMRC now if they are playing hard ball. So that anger certainly hasn't passed.

    5 stages of grief.
    1. Denial - All paper talk Mel has the EFL on strings, books where already signed off.
    2. Anger - My god it was Mel all time time, what a massive cu..
    3. Bargaining - We have a good case to get admin overturned - Mel said it’ll only be 4 points for 1 year. How much will HMRC take to duck off?
    4. Depression - Duck me, this reality is dawning on me -will we have a club.
    5. Acceptance - Were going down despite it being mathematically possible to stay up.
Yesterday’s result pushed me to the acceptance stage. I don’t think we’ll be liquidated but I’m sure we’re going down.
Getting out of this mess with DCFC still in existence will do me.

24Charlie got a reaction from Kathcairns in Should Rooney be doing better under the current circumstances?
In normal circumstances with Rooneys record it is likely Rooney would have been sacked with about 4 games left of last season. He has done nothing to turn that form around this year. As has been said we would be in a relegation battle without the point deduction so in a purely points returned perspective he has not been successful in the slightest.
    But…
We have been hamstrung by an embargo, admin,  FFP, injuries to key players.
It’s a forlorn hope. When the battle is over and we see who have deserted and who we have left and if Rooney is still here then he deserves a chance on an even playing field.

I think it will be fair to judge at that point.

There are far too many professional football clubs attempting to keep their heads above water.
Football in this country has sold out to money years ago and it cannot be reversed without removing the huge monetary rewards on offer at the top of the game and that will take legislation the the government won’t pass. Leaving football in this country to self regulation has failed.
The hard truth is that we are left with what we have and it’s a case of if you can’t beat ‘em join ‘em.
The prem may be open to create prem 2 and allow promotion and relegation between the two with prize money distributed via league position 1 to 40.
Of course how do you chose 40 clubs?
Some are obvious but some are not. Plymouth as the only club out in the southwest should be in. There are far too many London clubs so two or three of them should be chucked out.
Football needs a major revamp but it needs streamlining and less professional clubs. The fa cup stays but the EFL after 132 years is finished as the two pro leagues will be run by the FA as is non league football.
    I’m just spitballing ideas.
Even more radical is all clubs get out disbanded and 20 franchises created in locations around the country. I in Wales 2 in Scotland 1 in NI and the rest geographical spread around England focused on large population centres.
There’d be a huge clamour for 1 of these franchises with Billionaires globally bidding to get one,
East Midlands United for example, playing out of a 100000 seater stadium near East Midlands Airport draw from Derby Notts and Leicester.
The mighty EMU a team to be feared.
Fans aren’t ready for this solution just yet I fear.

Sorry I don’t see it that way. Had he not been standing in an offside position in the first place then there would have been no offence to punish.
The assertion of the original post is that you can be offside in your own half and you simply cannot be. CKR was offside in the opponents half.

It was funny seeing him next to CKR at the end, he was kind of mid chest level. ..
Hugely impressed .. lots of stuff that I will ramble about in a minute but the absolute first thing is that he knows that moving the ball quickly messes up the most organised tactics or system. One touch pass on the bounce .. you can’t counter that, it breaks lines.
Terrier, ratter, nice quick feet, prefers the forward ball but intelligent enough to know you can’t do that all the time. Neat, quick. Didn’t notice any particular long range passing put the short and simple was spot on. I think he brought genuine balance to our midfield. Shinnie is a bit box to box but has been given a bit of a DM’s watching brief. Knight is a bit right sided with attacking intent and Liam sits nicely between the two.

How does Ravel fit ? Gifted player and with assets of his own. For me he might be an alternative to Lawrence rather than having them in the same team,
Hey, wherever we end up it’s going to make some interesting footy conversations.. There will be pressures on Knight, Bird and Festy .. they will be tempted .. they are young guys with an abundance of talent .. we might lose them if we go to league 1 .. but if the likes of Thompson,Watson, Cashin, Sibley and others remain then we will have a young dynamic team with something serious to offer and well worth watching. It’s going to be hard over the next 9 months but I see a future and I see some fun mixed with the angst

Our start has been poor and left us in a very difficult position. I’d have liked to have been a minimum of 6 points better off.
I see nothing that will make us suddenly start scoring more goals than we concede. The fact is we would be in a relegation scrap even without the -21.
We have no chance of climbing the mountain before us.
But it’s not going to stop me going to football and walking away with a smile on my face when we win.

In the interview with the administrator on Rams TV yesterday he said that The Boro and Wycombe claims had been against DCFC but he also said the admins had been talking to the EFL about it.
Not really much to go on but perhaps they are telling the EFL to be wary of clubs making these claims.
If the EFL aren’t concerned about these claims then they should be.

No point in caution. It could be very entertaining watching the Rams over the next few months. We could do an Albania who got stuffed by England because they had to go for it or we win a few. Who knows, but playing defensive now is pointless.
Everyone should be expecting us to go for it including the opposition.
So two defensive midfielders seems a bit negative.
I’ll be really interested so see how Wayne sets them up.
