So why would anyone bother when they are going to be treated poorly by the likes of you?

Anybody that can go and can afford it but doesn’t, can’t call themselves a Derby supporter.

Then why are you suggesting that people in poverty can afford to waste £50 each when there's bills to pay and food to put on the table?

He has zero to do with the issues we now find ourselves in, but he has acted with utter class.
He's had no money and is playing a number of players he knows aren't good enough (at least at the moment) without a word of complaint publicly.
He's just got on with his job and tried to get this team playing decent football with one hand tied behind his back, wearing lead boots and being made to wear a balaclava the wrong way around.
And then he hears about going into administration on TV like the rest of us and rather than whining or walking out he gets on with his job.
I really like what I'm seeing, especially when you consider he's in his first year of management and the second youngest boss in the entire football league.
He should have control of this team if/when he has money to spend, or at the very least until the end of this season.
If he does walk or get pushed, I for one will be bitterly disappointed.

Are people for real. It's not down to Gibson, it's not down to the EFL..... Its down to Morris. Selling the ground to himself was the clear and obvious sign of how bad things were. Gibson also lodged complaints against villa and sheff wed so he has no vendetta against Derby. Morris tried to make it personal by offering to show the books to Gibson..... The books he wouldn't submit to the EFL. Morris has Destroyed Derby county and tarnished it's reputation and still people have fallen for his lies and blame others.

My respect and admiration for this guy increases every day.  Not one of us would be surprised if he walked but no, he remains, fighting.  It's no wonder he achieved what he did as a player.  And it's no wonder we see the team, to a man, fighting for him.

My brother in law was told yesterday he has aggressive lymph cancer and it’s terminal. About 12 weeks is the prognosis. It brings things into perspective.

No he doesn’t. He deserves for people to be upset or disappointed but abuse is not right. If you can’t convey your feelings without abuse then it’s a poor show for an adult really.

Disgusted at some fans really. How come trashing Caroline Flack was wrong, and look what that led to, and yet it’s perfectly fine to say what they like about Mel Morris?
He’s human, he gambled and lost.
If I lost one of my family I’d be devastated, if it was my money all gone I’d lose sleep, but over football? Not a chance.

Excited at the prospect of seeing a resurgence of Derby County Football Club.
So many things have been shaken in the past year and there is a need to “Awake and strengthen that which remains.”
Fifty years ago we were the top team in the country.
Forty years ago Forest ruled the roost.
Recently our manager was the most successful player in England.
    Forever changes…..that’s life!

Nobody's died. My family are happy. The cats are keeping our raspberry bushes safe from the birds. The pears are nearly ripe.
There is still beauty in the world. Mel Morris is not going to duck that up.

I've lived in Amber Valley now for the last 15 years. Love the accent - can't imagine being happier anywhere else. God's own country! Love all Derbyshire accents, having lived in Glossop for about 20 years!

I'm from Often originally (left in the 80s) and think Amber Valley accents are ace. Really distinct with a definite 'northern' influence. Really like Chezzy '(town') accent too. The Derby City accent on the other hand is really dull by comparison.

I agree. I haven’t been to St Andrew’s for a good few years but I always hated them singing:

Your offensive, but inaccurate, cultural references have no effect on me
I am not from West Bromwich, nor Dudley

Got a lot of time for Blues. Know loads of them and they're a sound bunch. Never had any issues there with them, unlike Wolves who truly are a filthy lot.  Also, can our fans not call them yam yams? Really embarrassing and not accurate. If you want to chant it, save it for West Brom.

Generally speaking people mistaking our Birmingham accent for that of the Black Country are just plain dumb or ignorant. So when fans sing yamyam to Blues fans, they probably aren't being wound up, they are probably thinking what a bunch of idiots. I see it so many times on tv shows where they give Black country accents to people supposedly from as far away as south Warwickshire. I wonder if people mistake the Mancs and the Scousers?

Not everyone was in the DLF or intentionally looking for trouble! I mentioned Bradford simply because it was a very scary experience being on the receiving end of chunks of concrete raining down with no cover, not glorifying in throwing them back. Football in the 70s and 80s was in a very different place and situations like this on away days were almost unavoidable. If you wanted to follow your team home and away every week you knew what to expect, knew the risks and took your chance. The only safe option was to stay at home and for many of us this was simply not an option, the adrenaline rush was part of the day
