Another for the number 10 loan wish list (that incidentally we've been linked with in previous windows)... Elliot Anderson from Newcastle.

This player had a breakout season in league 1 after this run, followed by another big season, followed by a big transfer and eventually an England call up.
I’d BET 👀 not many can guess who it is without the clues.
Now obviously I don’t think this kid is the next IT or JCH or whichever other striker posh have bought in but it’s worth remembering that our fans longed for us to be the transfer before the big transfer. That means taking risks on young players.
For a player to have a breakout season with us and be worth a few Bob they need to have been underwhelming before they come to us.
As I say I’m not suggesting he’d be brilliant but a youngster having poor goal returns at this stage might not be reason enough to write them off.
I'd say a 1 in 3 strike rate at any level in the EFL is enough to show potential (and Toney did around that in 3 of his last 4 loan spells). Harris has 10 over 3 seasons which is pretty dire.
Going on that basis, I'd be asking about Luke Armstrong from Harrogate... 26... just under 1 in 3 in a side that's struggled since getting out of non-league.

Hearing ladapo at Ipswich is up for sale how about a switch with Knight played for Warne before
Can see Ladapo being realistic. How much would he cost in the current market? Around £1m after a decent season?

Haha. It's going off topic because I don't think many people are overenamoured with the idea of him signing. I mean... 6 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions last season is pretty dreadful for someone calling themselves a striker at any level! 🤣 Even James Collins had a better goals per game ratio than that!
-
If Plymouth choose not to buy him permanently, Finn Azaz on loan from Aston Villa. Could have Championship offers but a very good young player.
-
Stan Mills on loan from Everton? Can play as a number 10 and had a strong season in the U21 Premier League last season.
-
-
I mean... a back three of:
Nelson Flint or Bradley Cashin
That's pretty decent on paper!

One I've already suggested previously but, with whatever funds we have available, one of my key 'buys' would be Cameron Devlin from Hearts. We desperately need some energy and bite in midfield and he'd provide this. Him next to Bird or him next to Hourihane would provide two very good mixes in the middle of the pitch.
-
Cauley Woodrow on loan from Luton. 28. Didn't have the best of seasons last season, but solid scoring stats at his previous club and a good work rate. Someone to potentially lead the line?

Marty Longstaff released
Looked a class above L2 when he was out at Mansfield. Not sure about his spell at Colchester before injury. He does seem to get injured quite regularly though!

Exeter City are 'expecting' Josh Key and Archie Collins to leave at the end of the month (according to BBC Sport)... they'd both be good additions IMO.

Starting to look that way.
According to a friend we're in advanced talks with "at least 5 players you'd have heard of" about joining when their contracts at their current clubs expire at the end of the month. Didn't go in to any more details 🤣 No need to panic yet. COYR 🐑

I notice Britt Assombalonga has just been released by Watford. Could still do a job at this level IMO.

No surprise after we had him on loan for most of the season, but Luke McGee has now been officially released by Forest Green. Decent L1 backup 'keeper.

Ryan Manning and Joel Latibeaudiere released by Swansea. Good LWB and RCB options
Agreed! Plus Manning has played for Warne before at Rotherham in the 2018-19 season.

Would cost a few hundred grand... but, if PW was looking for an engine in the middle of the pitch, I'd be looking at Cameron Devlin from Hearts. Think a younger Craig Bryson in terms of effort on the pitch!

he also said Mcgolderick is interested in resigning for us but is massively frustrated by being in league 1 and having to play so many little cup matches and that’s one factor he’s not particularly interested by
If that's the case we should write some sort of clause into his contract that he doesn't play PJT games if that's what it takes! Can't afford to let someone of Didzy's class and versatility at this level go.

As I can't find a suggestion thread (and we now have a lot more flexibility on who we can bring in 🙂), I'll start one!
Who would we like to see (realistically) playing for us next season?
The centre of defence will need a re-build. Some wing-backs will likely be near the top of Warne's shopping list. We could do with a bit more depth in the goal scoring department (where would we have been without Didzy?).
A couple of suggestions:
Danny Batth at CB - Tough, no nonsense defender.
Wing-back, Junior Tchamadeu from Colchester - wing-back, quick, in the L2 Team of the Season despite playing for a team that finished 20th, potential to improve in both quality and value at a higher level in L1.
Daniel Jebbison (CF) - Young, quick, skillful and would be a good option up front. -
Cole Stockton is leaving Morecambe... proven goal scorer at this level in a team that always seemed to be battling relegation. Would be interesting to see what he could do in our side.

Doubt it. Can't see him, Bird and Knight staying in L1 again.
Knighty will be gone... full Ireland international with over 150 first team appearances at his age. He'll have Championship teams wanting him. Bird has been solid but hasn't particularly stood out... think we'll see him in a Derby shirt again next season.

Yep. He can duck off back to Tottenham and never darken our doorstep again in about 3 minutes.

If we finish 7th that's where we deserve to finish. Not good enough.
Agreed... All season we haven't been clinical enough with our chances (combined with the well known lack of competence of referees at this level). Even today we've made enough chances to at least get a point.

Nelson, Bradley and Cashin would be one hell of a defensive setup for L1.
