What's your opinion of how Warne is setting the team out and who he's signing - seriously I'm interested.

You can probably tell by some of my previous comments @RoyMac5

I don't like his style of football... at all... but everyone has their own opinion. In terms of signings, I strangely think he hasn't done that bad! Thinking off the top of my head... Nyambe, Nelson, Elder, Fornah, Embleton... these are all players I'd have had on my list for a L1 team too.

The less said about recent recruitment attacking-wise since he's taken over, the better though 🤣

Yet for all of their Championship experience they ended up at a League One club.

How many times have you watched the Stevenage midfield play out of interest?

Or is it just a case of we are Derby County, our players must be better than theirs?

I watch a lot of EFL and non-league football (including Stevenage... even if only once in person in Feb away at Stockport when I was working up in Manchester for a few weeks). I was also a scout for a number of years.

Anyway, it's becoming increasingly obvious we're never going to see eye-to-eye, so I'll wish you a good evening.

    Are they? Based on what?

Look at who's in the team... it's full of Championship experience.

Who's the better midfield on paper? Smith, Hourihane, NML, Bird and Barkhuizen or Burns, Freeman, Macdonald, List and Roberts (Stevenage's midfield at the weekend). To me there's a huge gulf there!

No, we are also only 14 games into a 46 game season, incidentally which Warne has yet to have even close to a full squad to pick from.

The players he has at his disposal (even with injuries) are capable of a lot better than what they are currently doing.

    Well thats completely subjective.

For me unless you're staring relegation in the face I don't think its too much to ask for a manager to be given a whole season with his own players.

We're in League One for f*cks sake! We've just taken one point off of Cheltenham, Shrewsbury and Stevenage in recent weeks... do you think that's good enough?

So how does stability come from sacking a manager and bringing someone in to play a different style of football 3 months after Warne has signed players to play in the way he wants?

It doesn't... but the way he wants the team to play is sh*t...

Lots of very positive Warne texts and calls tonight. One negative one comes on at the end and gets short shrift from Dom.

Not saying that social media is necessarily a good measuring stick for how people are feeling, but I was expecting a lot more anti-Warne calls after everything that I’ve seen on Twitter and on here.

Maybe they've been screening the opinion of the callers before putting them on air? No Derby fan I know (as in personally know) wants Warne to stay 🤷‍♂️

I really wonder what the Warne Outers actually want to happen.
Obviously most want Warne sacked. I think we know that means his “team of staff” will also have to go and all be paid off.
So then what? Appoint a rookie like eg Curtis Davies or experienced manager? (Like Warne ironically). How long a contract? Will we allow them to complete their contract? How soon do we “expect” promotion?
People keep clamouring for more change and yet “change” has hardly ever delivered results. We sacked Roy Mac and appointed TBE. that DID work but not before loads of fans wanted him sacked by September.
So now lease one of the vocal Warne outers WTF do you want to happen right now.

Sack Warne and hire someone with a better brand of football. If I could see any sort of progress being made I wouldn't want him gone... but we seem to be going backwards.

  9. Left-field choice... but Robbie Fowler!

Recently sacked from his role in Saudi Arabia (a weird choice seeing as his side were unbeaten at the time). Was well thought of over in Australia during a short spell at Brisbane Roar. Applied for a fair few jobs in England over the years if reports are to be believed, and I reckon he'd relish the opportunity.
