Didn't make sense at all that the post could be taken as he was leaving. If it was anything more cryptic than "I'm a Derby fan, I love playing football against Forest" then it would surely be the opposite, and that he was staying?

parachute payments are there so that clubs don’t have to be afraid of putting players on big expensive contracts only to get relegated and still have to pay them off with a fraction of the income. But they abuse the payments by buying even more expensive players, hoping they’ll just get promoted again within the 3 years. That’s not what parachute payments are for. 

so it shouldn’t be too difficult to just clarify what the payments are for, and make sure they’re spent only on that. 

Yep, and ensure contracts include either selling price if relegated and/or wage reductions too.

I’m unaware of the Tory MP you refer to but wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case, some people have friends in higher places than others.

It’s a difficult one alright and I’m in no way attempting to defend this man, I would just feel more comfortable if he (and all others accused of this kind of crime) remained anonymous until the legal procedure has taken it’s due course and has determined his/their innocence or guilt.

Big difference here is that in the previous case, and likely this one, they can get named abroad anyway as their press isn't held to any of our regulation so the name is going to get out online regardless.

As I'm sad and quite like wrestling again now I'm old, there was a storyline last week that basically meant the wrestler (Chris Jericho) couldn't use his entrance music. His music is sang every week by fans, but then without the music they sang the full thing. Thought it was fantastic... Starts circo 50 seconds in.

He's still local, believe his kid plays in Little Eaton. Love seeing these guys still playing purely for the love of the game. Saw Paul Green playing against Belper in a friendly pre-season at the ripe old age of 38.

Can I suggest Sunday 5th for the draft? That's the last Sunday before the first game of the season.

I wholeheartedly agree on Hughes. The whole situation with his sale was criminal and the minute Rowett said to Mel that he wanted to sell Hughes he should’ve been sacked on the spot. That’s why it’s so frustrating to see history repeating itself (if this is even true).

Completely with you. The fact that people are siding with Rooney's assessment is pretty amusing.

Any draft time is fine by me if it's unlimited clock.

Prefer a limited clock. Make it a certain time (evening obviously), then some can jump on a call through it for a bit of banter. 

Suggest the week before the season, whichever day. Late as possible to avoid drafting injured guys.
