I started off on my laptop via HDMI, but can't get he sound to come through on the telly/av receiver, so have to make do with the ctrappy laptop speakers. Any suggestions?

Regardless, I then went looking on the smart tv (I've hardly used the "smart stuff on it) and got on the DFCF site via the TV browser and it works treat - no delays, no fuzzy or jerky pictures (once it has been running for a few minutes). It seems that Rams TV runs about a minute behind Sky TV.

This works till about the 55th to the 60th minute, when the feed freezes, never to thaw again. Luckily I am armed with Radio Derby, and my son's SkyGo login!

Has anybody else been consistently frozen out?

Could just be as simple as the order in which you’re plugging your laptop in and putting the channel on. That said, some streaming services purposefully make it so sound doesn’t go through the speakers - think Sky does this.

I wouldn't fancy making the trek up to Grimsby a few times a week if I were him. Surely he's moved up there?

No idea for certain, but it ain't that far really.

Charles Vernam has decided to leave Grimsby on a free, with interest coming from L1 clubs of which Burton Albion are apparently favorites for his signature.

Makes sense for him, probably still lives Derby way and I bet Buxton has some level of relationship with him from being here.

Classic forest this season. Let the opposition have the ball, bore them to death, fluke a goal, shut up shop, win 1-0. Easy.

I'll give it to them, it's predictable and it is working. But i've now watched Forest 10-15 times this season and haven't been impressed for more than about 45mins of it.

I drink far more beer these days, probably more than I do cider. Only basic stuff: Carling, Peroni, Bud, Corona, etc. I don’t mind an IPA either, though it’s usually out of my price range.

Anyway, my lovely mum thought she was doing me a favour when she bought me a bottle of ‘cider’ from a shop in Derbyshire the other week. Turns out it’s some weird stout. I’ve never tried stout before and I’m almost certainly going to hate it, but I might as well try.

Stout is so good. As a younger lad, used to just look so off putting, nowadays, love a draft Stout. You should take a trip to Brews of the World in Burton, have some weird and wonderful stuff on in there that’ll broaden your horizons.

    Yes mate

Not sure what your set up in the cellar is there so don’t know if this applies to each tap but I had a very iffy pint of Coors a couple of weeks back. Tasted metallic, which probably means the line is knackered. Should probably call us to look

My pub orders from Coors, does that mean you can sort some freebies out for us? ?

Not quite, but if you are having any dispense problems or changing products over etc I can get it done a bit sooner more than likely!

Ah sorry, it was in a cafe on the a1 past Alnwick so that is mostly likely the case. Ill throw the glass back at them next time and shout ‘THIS IS FOR SRG!’

Thanks for the knowledge, I’ll know for next time it happens. Which brewery is it, if you don’t mind me asking?

Molson Coors. So yes we have Carling, but we do have a lot of better stuff too!

  9. @TuffLuff wasn't actually joking. I work for a brewery in dispense side of things, and that is literally what that is. When bubbles cling to the side like that, it means the glass is dirty, usually greasy. Likely caused by washing them with things like coffee cups instead of in a glass washer with other glasses. Means your pint will go flat very quickly, and it's just a bit unappetising.

I'm sure it's something we could explore, but I'm not sure how useful it would be in practice.

As I've mentioned before, commentating for TV is very different to a radio commentary. I'm not really describing, just trying to add to the pictures, so I'm not sure you'd get much of a picture of the action ?‍♂️

I know when there was an issue with Radio Derby's feed earlier in the season one chap on Twitter was irate about my lack of description.

You could just say "we're attacking" or "we're defending" and it would be better than RD.
