I'd say we are waiting for our maim targets then working down a sensible back up list.

Think Oko Flex was a first choice but he's gone to Swansea so we move onto the next.

None of our transfer business has appeared desperate so far this summer.

Imagine it's tough with players like Oko-Flex because they're clearly waiting for Championship teams if they can get them. Probably why it's taking until the last minute.

I agreed with the original poster. Robert’s looked a bit slow, his crosses were off pace and seldom reached their target and he didn’t look like he could beat his man. In fact a couple of times the attacks fizzled out when the ball got to him. Towards the end I was hoping that the ball wouldn’t get passed to him. Based on this game alone he wasn’t good enough and I’d prefer to have fozzy in. I’m sure it’s just a one-off and he’ll be back to form after today.

You have to understand what is being asked of them when they’re on the pitch. In possession, Roberts is tucking infield almost like another midfielder. He was primarily a centre back when he got here. He’s being asked to make an overload inside, keep the ball and give it simple. Fozzy is asked to be on the touchline, often very high up the pitch. It’s horses for courses but comparing them using the exact same metrics isn’t fair on either of them. Fozzy just looks more like a traditional full back you are used to seeing.

  3. I’m really struggling to see the tireless work everyone speaks of. He generally lets Sibley do his pressing, marks himself against a centre back and doesn’t move to want the ball to feet. He then has a Teflon first touch and the less said about the finishing the better.

Now I’m hoping that confidence can affect things like hiding from the ball, first touch and finishing, and potentially we are a goal off his backside from a much improved player. That said, we simply must sign a striker this week.

Had to give Loach his debut tonight really - got to give him a fair chance to play at some point, even though he came here in the full knowledge that he is very much emergency cover. No better opportunity than the EFL Trophy really.

Is a bit concerning having him in there though, given the level he’s been playing at before moving here. Hopefully he’s not tested too much. Real shame we can’t give Anang his debut instead tonight so we can see what he can do - that injury must be so frustrating for him.

He was playing at the same level Grimsby were last season.

Plange made his mark whilst Stretton struggles or is that unclear better change your specs

Literally nobody but you has mentioned Stretton. What’s he got to do with anything? Did he once cut you up at a junction or something?

Absolutely this with not allowing the opposition to be completely set. We don't often do things quickly. Plus Sibley made the run to Hourihane for the pretend short corner, which took out one of the men defending the front post who had to follow him, meaning there was a much clearer route through to Knight for the header.

Yeah, the highlights sell that goal short because really it’s the pressure of consecutive corners which cause the terrible marking and completely free (albeit well executed) header.
