Hourihane and Collins too?
I remember a couple of seasons ago Newport in L2 had a game postponed as they had one international player (who ended up as an unused sub) and one U21 on duty. I've cancelled my tickets now to be on the safe side, lesson learnt!!
I doubt either of them will get in the squad to be honest. But guess we will see.

Doubt it. Only player we have is Knight isn’t it? Maybe Cashin if u21 internationals are happening.

I think if he joins it may be on a free for the u23s being a backup to the 1st team if/when needed
He’s had multiple first team games in this league already. He wouldn’t be signing for our u21s. We are a league one team.

Happy with this. Not going to pretend I’ve ever seen him play, but just from pure attributes and positional point of view it’s something we didn’t have and desperately needed in the squad.

Just some random person naming random names. Got enough of those on this forum already.

I don't get it.
Is it something to do with the stadium plan being drawn in a horizontal manner, showing the West Stand where North should be?
You can’t be serious.

If you recall the song you would find it hard to chant!
Easier to change a 'Sex' song?
Eg Kings of Leon 'Yehhh, Oko Flex is on fire'.
Let’s talk about Oko-Flex, let’s talk about Mendez-Laing… someone can finish the rest ?

Dobbin and Oko-Flex competing for LW
Mendez-Laing and Barkhuizen competing for RW.Either that, or it's one of Dobbin and Oko-Flex coming in.
Don’t think it’s that simple. Can interchange comfortably.

The article reads like Percy the fan has written it, rather than Percy the journalist.
If he seriously believes that Lingard turned down a bigger club with better prospects AND more money to join Notts Forest, then I don't really know what to say ?
He blocked me for telling someone in the comments a while ago he’s a forest fan. There was no malice or anything, a simple statement. He’s very sensitive about it.

Looks like Calvert-Lewin is injured for them in training and having scans.
Definitely ruled out of their first game of the season.
Rondon is their only fit striker now, so this might mean we have to wait for Dobbin.
Doubt it. Dobbin not an out and out striker.

There are approx 7,500 season tickets available still to buy.
Does anyone know the maximum number of season tickets we're allowed to sell?
I know there are certain numbers that have to be available for away fans (approx 3,000) and a % has to be available for general match-day supporters (is it 10%?).
So I'm guessing it works out something like 32,500 - 3,000 - 3,000 = 26,500 is the maximum number of season tickets that can be sold ?!
Anyone know any better?
I remember it being less than that a while ago when we sold out - like 23 or 24k. But we know that can’t be true as we know we’ve sold 18k plus already.

He got no service because almost every time Roberts received the ball he came back inside to Cashin who in turn went to Davies who then continued to go right to Knight or NML. My impression was time and again Barkhuisen was in acres of space down the left but the pass on to him was declined. Really enjoyed Saturday but this really frustrated me. Given the service I believe he’ll be a great asset.
Usually because Cashin took 4 to 5 business days to release the ball and make a decision.

Are Joseph and Dobbin both forwards? So Colins, McGoldrick, Dobbin, Joseph, Stretton
Unless we're using Joseph as a right wing back (apparently has been known) then I'd only be going for one
Dobbins is a wide player first and foremost, McGoldrick isn’t really a number 9 like Collins either. So the ones you’ve listed aren’t like for like swaps.

For me he is going to be the link that feeds Collins from the centre. AM or No 10 or withdrawn striker, call him what you like. He’s a key that unlocks doors, provides the final ball if you like. It’s what we are missing in my opinion, and have been for some time.
I agree. That’s exactly what he is.

He did very well there, but he also did well at Ipswich too by and large. I’d argue his age lends more to playing him as a lone striker - younger players with pace tend to be better in a two up front, whereas older, stronger and more clever footballers tend to make better number 9’s. From what I’ve seen of McGoldrick, he has all the attributes to make a good withdrawn striker, holding the ball up and linking others into play.
So the role which requires harder work and more graft, is easier when you get older? I’ll be shocked if he plays up front alone unless it’s for injuries.

True, hence why I said he’s capable of it, but Sheff Utd always played two up front under Wilder. Don’t think he’s played like that for his whole career.
But he did his best at Sheff Utd. He’s only getting older.

McGoldrick could play in a two as a 10, but his main position is a lone striker. Rosenior appears to favour 1 up front so that means we’ve got three players for one position, that’s enough imo. If we need to go more attacking within a game and switch to two up front, then McGoldrick is of course the obvious option, while the incoming Dobbin is another.
That’s enough options at Centre Forward in my view. Like I say, the only way bringing another striker in makes sense is if we loan Stretton out - which I would be in favour of, because I agree he hasn’t looked up to it in pre-season. Otherwise this link and the Joseph one make no sense. We lack wingers at the minute, probably two short (one with Dobbin), not strikers.
McGoldrick always played with someone else at Sheff Utd

Should just fold at this point.

I personally think barkheizen isn’t a winger.
Listen to his interview when he signed. He doesn’t like playing up front on his own.

Dobbin will come in and be in rotation with Barkhuizen - I'd fully expect him to win out the job.
He's one of four players Everton fans have realistic expectations to become a first team player for them in their academy. I don't think he's going to come in here to battle it out Agatise for a place on the bench and in the U23 - with all due respect.
Don’t think it’ll be a case of winning the job. Squad will be needed and lineups picked based on form, injuries and opposition - Rosenior has said as much.
-
Only real question for me is if Sibley starts. He’s arguably earned it and could help us get the ball up the pitch as an away team under pressure. That would likely mean sacrificing Korey Smith, which is ok as he gets up to match speed and with a cup game just after.

Wilson, Mount and Tomori all had been out in successful loans at the same level it higher (Mount).
Now we’re in League 1, we’re part of the first stage of the loan journey. Hopefully we can pick up the best young talent from Prem academies. Don’t expect many to have had previous loans though. That’s the stage we’re at now.
You would also hope the likes of Justin Walker and Wassall would know a lot about some of these players.
New signings, who will be first...and next?

This seems slightly simplistic as you’ve only included players covering one position.
For example, Dobbins is going to cover all 3 front positions. Hourihane will cover any midfield position, as will Smith (he played CAM on Saturday as a prime example). It goes on and on.
You’re going to need a lot more players doing it the way you’ve done it.
