I’m still trying to understand everything a bit I’ve got to be honest, but I think what’s starting to be clear (and I think something we’ve known all along) is that the true battle is between Gibson and the EFL. It’s a really stupid battle on Gibson’s part but it’s showing up the EFL’s incompetence. We’ve ended up being a very convenient pawn in the process of kicking the can down the road so neither have to act, but maybe it’s starting to come to a head now.
If any MP’s, journalists want to look into this then that’s where this starts and ends. Morris and Derby were just as stupid, of which we’ve been punished, but their actions are now causing a serious dent into Derbys season and even their existence. All because the EFL don’t want to sort Gibson out. The transfers, the emails, the ststements from the EFL have been nothing short of an insult to Derby County

Just time out to thank the Mods at this time. Cant imagine how difficult it must be to keep on top of the volume of posts also at a time when feelings are running high. Think we'd all be lost without this forum so thank you

I've spoken with David Conn this morning (Guardian) who was absolutely vital in the unearthing of the Three Amigos saga. They're looking to ensure they'll be reporting the situation within their team.

Isn't the EFL - by not dismissing the Boro and Wycombe bogus/chancer claims - preventing the Administrators performing their legal duty to the creditors by securing new owners for the club, owners that will repay the monies that their legitimate claims entitle them to?

Exactly this. The EFL plan is always to kick things into the long grass to prevent Derby moving forward. Hence why we were forced to drop the appeal against the points deduction. We're not helped by the Administrators appearing completely spineless. The EFL, Boro and Wycombe are manifestly in the wrong and they should come out and say so.

I think if the EFL rules are proven to be contrary to current statute then it’s a big problem for them. Firstly because their rules are now actively impeding a legal process, but secondly because it’s opening them up to all sorts of legal challenge re lost transfer activity and the later effects of that. At the moment they’re lucky we won on Saturday, but as soon as we lose it’ll be because they wrongly forced us to sell Shinnie and not be able to re-sign Jagielka.
    Good luck EFL.

Would be funny if Quantuma are found to be vindicated, but Derby get relegated by a point or so (this bit not so funny, bear with me). Derby then sue the EFL for not allowing Jagielka to re-sign and being forced into selling Shinnie and others, these being the difference between relegation and survival.

Wycombe's is almost worse for me.  Even if you put aside the issue that there was no possible chance of us being given a points deduction last season (deadline for revised accounts submission was after the start of the season, then there's the whole process after that still to happen etc), they're arguing that points deductions for us should be applied immediately, but the Sheff Weds one should still be applied the following season, otherwise Sheff Weds stay up instead.  They're literally demanding that EFL sanctions of other clubs be applied in the seasons that personally benefits them the most.

That's my point. The replies look like arse covering. They are applying their rules.
You just can't have outdated rules that allegedly break the law. It's a shambles. We really should have Jagielka and Shinnie still at the club.

He, or whoever has been replying, has been avoiding answering direct questions with a yes or a no. The petition deals with this point, so hopefully pressure is now being applied by MPs, the administrators, Mike Ashley, creditors and the media with the backing of 40,000 football fans and counting.
Unfortunately for the EFL, we aren't Bury or Wigan. We're Derby.

I'd say the impasse is also that, to date, no interested party is willing to pay the £100M that is required to cover the "solution" that the EFL want. Some people, perhaps on both sides, need to take their heads out of their arses and start being pragmatic about a solution because, at the moment this is going nowhere but a liquidation where no-one gets their dues paid.
This reminds me of classic brinkmanship on all sides, with the fans and unsecured creditors being used as pawns by those with the power to sort it out if only their egos would allow it.

I don't think they have just discovered it. I think they went into the meeting with it. The EFL threw it out and the administrators thought the EFL were not complying with law, hence the statement on Friday.
Since then, I'm guessing they have found out that the EFL rules haven't changed since the law was, and this is why the meeting went so badly on Friday. Challenge the rule, with fan power meaning it has to be done quickly, and it all falls into place.

I'll miss him. I get he wasn't everybodys cup of tea but he never left anything out there on the pitch. In our current predicament then that kind of commitment is priceless. Thankfully we have a squad bursting with that level of commitment at the moment.

This isn’t about neutrality though. The EFL have a disciplinary process. That process has been followed and the relevant punishments handed out. But we’ve now got the case where 2 unrelated clubs have decided that they don’t like the results of that process and are taking matters into their own hands. It’s surely one of the most basic functions of the EFL to tell them that the disciplinary process is final, otherwise what’s the point of any of it?

Must admit I can’t believe there has been no attempt in any way to get supporters to help financially. I feel sure tens of thousands are going missing every week. Just ask supporters to set up a direct debit for the next 6 months. I would do it in a flash. Just do it every thing helps.

Being at the game yesterday It was only about 7pm when I got back and listened to the Radio Derby Spotscene Podcast.  Ed Dawes's heartfelt , almost passionate call for fan action comment, about a need for more consolidated action was something that really hit home and my did he mean it. Its been a long time, maybe 30years since Graham Richards's  "this team is going nowhere" report that a BBC commentators comment had hit me so deep. Despite some of the negatives ED gets occasionally, Ive already emailed My MP (Andrew Bridgen NW Leics) and he's begun tweeting in DCFC support, this needs Parliament to break up this EFL witch hunt and corruption.  well said ED, everybody, do something... but can we please have a post match consolidation report like Graham used to do.

I don't think I'd be ready for Rooney leaving to be added on top of the already heartbreaking situation we find ourselves in.
The compensation money would probably fund us until the end of the season at least, but would the club be as appealing if he goes? Sponsors, potential owners, players... all cited Rooney as a pulling factor for us. If he goes, do players decide they'll leave after all? Does the amount buyers are willing to pay drop?
I've seen enough this season with Rooney to tell me I want him to be involved with Derby for a long, long time. He's my favourite manager since McClaren 9 years ago, and if he keeps us up he'd definitely eclipse that. Maybe he would still even if we don't stay up.
I thought that if the worst comes to worst, and we end up with a phoenix club, Wayne and his American friends might want to buy us. He wouldn't manage us, but at least he's involved.
To summarise, I really do not want him to go to Everton. Not sure if I made that clear.

That was a captain’s performance yesterday. Incredible. Finally after 5 years fans chanting his name. If that is his last game then what a way to go out. He’s been excellent this season and in the second half of his Derby career (last season was heavily interrupted by injury).
Hope he stays a bit longer and we can see more of that.

Whilst I appreciate it will be likely treated with contempt - I have sent the following email to Mr Parry and Mr Birch - it will get us no further forward I’m sure - but at least I’ve got it off my chest!!!  And now I can get behind the team this afternoon.
See you at 3pm COYR!!! ?

“Like many other Derby County fans - I gravely concerned by the current situation threatening my football club and I hope you are able to provide some clarity.  In a statement issued by our Administrators they state:
“The difficulty and currently, in our view, the last remaining significant obstacle is to deal with certain claims that are very much disputed but which we are being advised by the EFL cannot be currently compromised notwithstanding statute says otherwise.”
It is this paragraph which concerns me most. In essence it appears that the EFL Board is overriding statutory law in order to punish Derby County beyond what is fair and reasonable. I’d therefore like to ask the following:
    1. Is the statement made by the administrator’s of Derby County FC factually correct?
    2. If so, can you confirm which body within the EFL has reached this conclusion?
    3. Can you provide confirmation that this body has full independence in so far as any member of the Board or its nominated sub-committee which maybe presiding over this matter is not conflicted by way of ownership / interest / contract / membership of or to any of the parties bringing claims against Derby County?
    4. Can you share the specific articles of law or other legally binding agreement that are being relied upon to override what might be considered statute.
    5. Please provide evidence of how the EFL is acting impartially and has applied lessons learned from the sad demise of Bury FC in the handling of this particular matter.
    6. Please provide evidence of how the EFL is working to protect the interest of the thousands of innocent football fans affected by this ongoing punishment of Derby County Football Club.
On this point, it should be made clear that Derby County is more than a name, more than a pawn in an egotistical, power play - it’s an important part of many peoples lives - it does a huge amount to support the community it serves. The majority of these fans are victims and are angered and frustrated at the prior owners handling of matters.
So my final ask, is please do not let the actions of the privileged few be an incentive to punish thousands of innocent victims. The mental anguish you are causing the thousands of people now needs to stop. You have a duty of care which extends beyond your fiduciary duty to the member clubs.
Many thanks for taking the time to read this note.”
