If we decide to cash in on Bird and Knight, then we have to trust Warne and the men behind the scenes.
I like both players but maybe they have reached their ceiling with us. At their age, they should be developing and improving year on year but they seem to have stagnated. Sometimes you can hold on to a young player for too long.
A fresh start might be exactly what both players need, especially as neither really made their mark in this division last season, well perhaps not to the levels we would have expected. They both excel at specifics, whereas we probably need midfielders who are more well rounded.
Personally I think we’ll be figured out pretty quickly if we persist with Bird and Knight as two key components of our midfield. Freshening things up and becoming more unpredictable would be a step in the right direction for me.

First Derbyshire century for Haider Ali. Been an excellent knock, gone after the bowling at times and played it safe at others 👏

From 17-4 to to 167-4 at tea. Great effort from du Plooy and Haider after the carnage that came before, and shows what can be done when you see off the new ball.

It doesn't help that Haider Ali appears to be taking a development course for the PCB

Ever since they announced the joint Pakistan/Derbyshire job, there has been some resentment.

It could be that as soon as we weren't promoted it was already known he would be looking at a championship move.
Whilst he improved a lot towards the end. He's hardly a world beater. Some of the reactions to him signing for another club are ridiculous.
He is easily replaceable 

You won't be alone in wanting signings in asap - we all do but it is very early in the window (as you do say in fairness) & hence is too early to make an assessment on whether the situation is bleak or not. About a month early I reckon.
Had to check dates but roughly this time last year we were chasing Chris Kirchner around a golf course (see below tweet) & yet by July 2nd, we had an impressive batch of names announced to play for us. 
In contrast to last year's chaos, we now have stable ownership, a Head of Recruitment, the EFL restrictions have loosened & a fairly compelling project to sell to new players - a probable tilt at automatic promotion from League One. Keep the faith ✊

Meh. A few smashed windows and other criminal damage is rather insignificant compared to what will come if world leaders (and the people who elect them - in some cases) cannot come up with a plan to stop doing things that exacerbate global warming.

Renewed my ticket last Friday, as well as buying a new one for my brother, so that's an extra one for next season.

Some of this is down to luck, the odd gem that goes for £30m could come through at, literally, any academy. Just as our academy should have been really coming to frution, the club started going in to meltdown (less due to luck that bit.
