That’s a great shout, reinvesting the wages saved on Bielik/Knight in new contracts for Cashin, Bird, Sibley etc wouldn’t be the worst idea. 

Presumably some budget will go to offering existing players that we want to keep improved longer contracts? Cant see this mentioned anywhere

Sorry to hijack this thread but when looking for photos for Baiano, I found this... It'll be a long time before one of our players sits on a bench with a player like Maradona... 

Must have been some team if Maradonna and Baiano could only manage to get on the subs bench.

My PoV: When backs are against the wall and the club has no money, necessity leads to trying out some young players from with in the ranks.  Kevin Wilson, Phil Gee and Dean Sturridge all broke through when we had no cash and were in need of goals.  All three delivered promotion seasons for us.
For that reason I am not worried.  Someone - don't know who - will get an opportunity this season and grasp it with both hands.

Took my sons years ago when younger and we all enjoyed it. We were lucky as only us on our tour with the legendary Sid who passed away recently. So my two both loved it especially the cells but are they still there as Away fans have moved? 
by the way my two both went to first games at 2 and loved it. Had emergency tablet with some cartoons for the few fidgety bits. Match earlier or later in season better when younger as dont have to worry about them getting cold

As for the Jordan Rhodes noise, if he signs then whatever. We've seen too many times before that signings we all got excited about have turned out to be a bit of a disaster, and signings that we all moaned about turned out to be shrewd bits of business.
No point wetting the bed over it at this point.

His pace and energy would look discernibly better if I was pushing him around in a wheelbarrow.

Sad day. Wish he could have stayed and gone up there with us but nothing is guaranteed and think the extra year he gave us was probably to the detriment of his development. But totally admire his loyalty,commitment and attitude. 
Feel disappointed for him that it wasnt a bigger move but hope he flourishes and makes the next step up soon.
Wishing nothing but the best to him. 

Shame this game was selected for him instead of end of season. Rather he played teams from his playing times - that would generate a bigger turn out
