Southgate's blind faith will prove to be his undoing. You just know, at some critical stage of the tournament, with Dier and/or Maguire in the defence, there's an almighty clanger going to happen. You just know it..........

Hasn't happened in the past two tournaments. Maguire has been excellent in fact. Though I agree Tomori should be there.

Penalties just isn't our thing I guess. Had a season with Wilson when one could be quite confident but now we are back to our usual selfs. Great overal performance though and not the worst way to exit this cup I guess.

It was that season under Lampard where we were amazing at penalties. We beat man United and Southampton in the cups on pens and scored every one. The players that season hit them with power and placement. Lampard taught them well. In fact, don't think we missed a penalty all season.

What team are we expecting Liverpool to put out?

My 2 kids are literally coming to see the ground and Liverpool players - so hopefully we put on a show, our fans make some noise and their conversion to the true faith is complete.

It will be a rotated side. I'm expecting 11 changes. Some reserve players and young players involved.

    Maybe something like this:

                               Kelleher

    Ramsay     Gomez        Phillips      Tsmikas

      Jones      Oxlade-chamberlain   Bajcetic

            Carvalho      Nunez        Elliott

If this is the team then the rams should have no fear, get at them.

  4. Definitely will be a weakened side. They'll still have better players than us obviously but you just have to hope that they lack chemistry and cohesion as a team.

Derby shouldn't just sit behind the ball and let them dictate things. That's what they want. They will likely have some young players on show who will be good with the ball. As soon as they don't have the ball they will be vulnerable. We need to impose ourselves on them, if we do that we can cause them problems.

Some of our fans on twitter having a go at Warne are absolutely ridiculous.

No team would get relegated from the Championship, come back for pre season with 5 players and get anywhere near to promotion from League One. The fact we're 7th is a miracle in itself.

We don't have a right back, we have 2 wingers (Ones injured) the squad at full strength is unbelievably short. Take 5 regulars out and we're threadbare.

The game management today after going down to 10 men was so poor. But these players make such poor decisions at times, going directly against what they've been told to do.

All Warne can do is work with what we've got, which isn't a lot. Get through this month, get some of the injured players back and get to January.

We need at the very least a right back, a midfield enforcer and a winger. But I think we'll get more than that.

Clowes said himself that there will be a period of consolidation.

For the most part I agree. Although I don't think a play off place is beyond us at the end of the season. I believe we will get better as the season goes on. It was poor game management today but we are struggling big time with injuries and suspensions.

We stayed up in the Championship, though. Although, we did accumulate our lowest point total ever in the second division that season - ignoring point deductions.

I think people are getting confused with what 'worst ever team' means. In League position yes this is one of the lowest points in our history. But that is not because of the players. People talk about this team as if they are the ones who got us relegated.

Probably should have had that game wrapped at HT. Dobbins inability to take his chances again costing us.

What happened after the card was embarrassing though. We just didn’t compete in midfield. Defenders could only hold them at bay for so long, we needed Hourihane, Bird and then Thompson to get a foothold. (Heard that before haven’t we?).

    Roll on January.

Ultimately I think the game management in the second half cost us, not the inability to take chances

you can clear the ball properly in the first place. Not concede the corner... actually try to sit further up the field to stop it happening. But we did none of those things. As soon as we went down to 10 we invited the pressure until inevitably something gave way

    Totally agree
