“Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offender is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball; in all other circumstances (e.g. holding, pulling, pushing, no possibility to play the ball etc.) the offending player must be sent off."

    Its a red.

But was it an obvious goal scoring opportunity? Forsyth could have got a block in

Not read the topic fully to really gauge the mood, didn’t think the performance was too bad in all honesty. It’s going to be frustrating walking away with a point when you’ve missed 2 penalties and should have been given a 3rd. 2 points dropped rather than 1 point gained but it’s not the end of the world.

We’re still in the mix and all signs are we will strengthen in January, January onwards thats when you want to be the team in form, with the momentum, as long as we can keep picking up points with a win here, draw there and staying within reach we’ll be fine.

2pts outside the top 6 and 7 games until the window opens, can’t see Warne wanting to wait until deadline day to make his moves.

Spot on. Last season Sheffield Wednesday were 9th in January. Second half of the season they improved. They finished 4th and were still mathematically in the automatic promotion race in the last few games.

Agree with this. Experienced players should give a penalty all their concentration and effort. Watching Wayne Rooney take a penalty for Derby in the twilight of his career, you could tell how much it meant to him personally, forget about the club for a minute, absolute laser like focus, professional pride at stake.

Yes, I know Rooney was on a completely different level but the determination to smash the ball into the net should be there for lads like Collins and McGoldrick.

If the keeper makes a worldie, or the ball smashes off the post or bar then fair enough, it happens.

Watch a few Rooney vids lads and make sure next time.

Harry Kane also. One of the best penalty takers I've seen hands down. Focuses straight at the goal, doesn't get distracted by what's going on around him and then smashes it into the net with pure power. Goalkeepers can't get near them, even if they go the right way it just flashes straight past their hands.
