The team are not coached to have any control. Another midfielder will not help if Warne continues to employ the tactics he wants us to play football.
I say football. It’s pinball. Players must be being encouraged to move it as forward as quickly as possible, taking no more than 3 touches. Chaotic, gas out type football.
I thought we might go up with our squad automatically, even with him in charge. I am beginning to think not.

He's a chartered accountant who has worked in insolvency and gone into academia - been a Principal Lecturer and is now at a Russell Group uni teaching accountancy.   You are at liberty to disagree with him but by any reasonable standards his experience qualifies him as an expert.    It's not like he's covering the Business Studies class at the local FE college.

Try getting a 10 stone athlete to push you in the back and kick your legs from under you and see if you can keep control of a football.   It was a blatant foul and the weight of Seddon is irrelevant.

The team got Wildsmith out of jail at Oxford. His decision for the penalty was criminal and don’t think he covered himself in glory with the second. Had we not made that dramatic comeback I think Wildsmith would have copped a load of flak.
Thought initially did well against Peterborough and was dominant in the air collecting crosses. Thought with the rest of the defence he switched off for their equaliser and might have done better. Thought he could have done more with their winner too. He also wasted time and was warned by the referee (not unusual for him) and may have caused additional added time. They scored in the last minute. Needs to be cleverer.
happy for Vickers to have a chance but initial thought s are Wildsmith is the better if he just concentrates on his goalkeeping.

We were being out pressed at times, our midfield were being bypassed and passed through for large parts of the second half. Most people here wanted to match up to them in the middle, going to a midfield 3 might have been an idea. I'd have gone to a back 3 and effectively had 5 in midfield to strangle them.
We were crying out for some legs in the middle.
Just my opinion like. Feel free to make up your own.

People saying NML lost the ball - it's a blatant foul he get's pushed and the guy kicks through his legs.  Now unless we are telling players to never stay on the ball under pressure how is he at fault?

???  I'm commenting on the style of play not how effective it is.

Why would we spend money on getting a perfect pitch when it gives us no advantage at all? We don't get points for best kept surface.
Obviously if you keep the ball on the deck more than the opposition you want a good pitch but that's not what we do.   As I said it's not hoof ball but it's not tika taka.

I wouldn't have dropped him - it just seems an unnecessary risk - some blamed him for the P'boro goals which I thought was very harsh.    If that us the standard he's judged by Vickers could have done better with both Burton goals.

    Deserved to win that.
Listened to Radio Derby on way home and they’ve watched a different game where Burton deserved a draw.
Call me old fashioned but to score 3 they’d need at least 3 shots on target.
We had two iffy bits of defending and they had 2 excellent finishes. Other than that I thought Burton were one of the poorest teams we’ve played.
The only slight negative is that we didn’t get the winner in the 97th minute. Couldn’t believe their plucky new manager moaning at the amount of time added on ……after he’d called a basketball style timeout with their mortally wounded number 3 a full 8 mm from the touch line.
    Got what they deserved.

Amazing. Seriously. But it shows this is about opinions. There was I wondering why on earth Warne was keeping him on the pitch when he was having such a poor fame, but presumed it was in a desperate bid to give Barks more confidence in himself, given he'd scored. I do think there is a player in there, but he's been poor for quite a while. I liked the McClaren way with wingers, where you have 4 on rotation, and if you play well you start and get 70 minutes and then the other guy gets 25 minutes at the end to make an impact and show he should start. Barks would benefit from that approach.

Dont know which part of the grd you were in, but we didn't play 3 at the back at any point tonight, back 4 until Bradley came on and then it was 5 to see the game out.....

Yes it was very noticeable their wide attackers, FBs and midfield had some well rehearsed patterns of play and it was hard not to conclude we'd been out coached.   That said we are pretty much level with Peterborough so some other teams must combat their way of playing better than we did.   We are quite an attacking team - I think that played into their hands - in hindsight if we'd set more of a low block their runners would just be running into traffic and I thought their defence looked susceptible.

I think the stats show we aren't as direct of late and we don't seem to try and get it wide as fast at all costs.   Now whether this is because Warne has changed his tactics or the players are getting closer to what Warne has always asked I don't know but I think it's for the better.
Our press looks better too - Collins seems to be fitter and his press has more intensity and he's being backed up better.     Overall we now look like a top 6 side, even a side who might challenge for top 2 in a weak season.
If we are going to go with a back 5 though for me I still need convincing - I'm not saying it can't work but I've yet to see enough to be confident the defensive frailties of early season are overcome.

I don't think Collins gets much stick now - last season yes but he's scored 11 league goals in 25 this season compared to 11 in 40+ last year.   He doesn't get many assists so as a 9 he needs to be scoring.
Also think his all round game looks better especially his pressing.  He looks fitter and less angry at the world.

Agree with this, I for one was critical about Collins, but he seems to be a lot fitter than the first 3 months of the season. Also don't like the back 5 system, even today's match showed gaps and players caught out of position. A better team than Fleetwood would have caused more problems and scored more goals. It's like Warne is trying to justify bringing in Bradley by fitting him in along the two centrehalfs who are head and shoulders above him in quality.
