Players aren’t robots and they aren’t all the same, some will be good kind human beings and some will be idiots.
Some will do lots of work in the community and charity work and some will spend all their spare time on the golf course.
Some will care about the fans and some won’t give a toss.

I'm only an occasional reader of this forum but I was reading the threads wondering where he was, until I saw this one 😞

He always made a strong contribution on this forum and was clearly a very dedicated and passionate Derby supporter despite what life threw at him. RIP, wish his family all the best (sorry for late post).

This where we miss dear old B4. He would have given you good advice on how to get out of your Wedding Anniversary trip to Venice in order to watch the Rams.

Are you going Togo to the match? There's a coachload setting off from Chad I believe. This thread has taken a turn all of a Sudan.

For me, moving away from Derby, my family also moving away, the cost of trains on top of tickets etc just meant I can't afford to go anywhere near as much as I want to. And of the 4 people I used to go with, 3 have died, and the other lives even further away than me.
Luckily I have a very patient partner who is happy to go with me every now and then, as long as I pay. But sadly my days of having a season ticket are long over. Every time I go to a match I try and see who's sat in my seat. They best not be farting.

I’m no expert but I think this defeat might well affect their chances of qualifying for Europe this season.

Vickers 7.5 Long periods of inactivity but produced 2 top saves at crucial moments.
Wilson 7.5 Lovely dancing feet & neat combination play.
    Nelson 6.5 Late legs.
Forsyth 6.0 A few “jelly leg” passes.
Hourihane 6.0 Knitted & pearled and assisted.
Fapetu 6.0 Late legs. Brings power.
Bradley 6.0 A couple of misplaced passes and mis-judged position in a largely unblemished performance.
Cashin 7.0 Metronomic. Scouts queuing up to watch him.
Barkhuizen 5.5 Nothings quite working right now.
John-Jules 7.0 Finished with class; Will score for fun if he stays fit.
Bird 8.0 MOTM Right in the guts of the engine there is a part which coordinates & performs multiple functions yet you barely see it.
Collins 7.5 Jack in the box on the end of a spring to steer home twice.
Weston 6.0 Covers the turf rapidly but out-muscled on contact.
Waghorn 6.0 Enigma. A man possessed one minute then dispossessed the next. Cruyff-turn then stabbed-wide when easier to score.
Mendez-Laing 6.0 Gentle 2nd half canter well within himself.
Ward 7.5 His best game yet. Lovely arrow-headed delivery into the box and some nice combinations out right. Gives an added dimension option.
Rams always in control although Fleetwood had a couple of chances that could’ve ignited their night had they gone their way. Derby beginning to look like a finely-tuned power-unit with poise and purpose. Is this the consistency they’ve been missing or a false dawn? Having seen Orient last Sunday, I can’t see anything other than another w in the streak incoming.

It was a cold watch but a good game with good goals and good individual performances all round. And well done to the 100 or so that did their very best to create an atmosphere.
It was interesting seeing the safe standing barriers in place. There looks to be new vertical barriers that run down the terrace as well as the horizontal/seat level ones. DC developments are certainly investing in the ground after some period of non investment. It’ll be interesting to see where they go next.

Watched the goals back this morning, it’s good to see the variety of set piece takers increasing our attacking threat. Although he completely got his targeting wrong, Hourihane being on the edge of the box to take on that long shot that Collins turned home is where he should be from time to time. With Waghorn/Ward/NML/Sibley all capable of putting in corners and free kicks, and Hourihane’s recent delivery being a bit questionable to me, I’d like to see more of that set up when he’s in the side. Gives the defence another threat to think about and as we saw last night can lead to goals.

Absolutely. Those who stay at home have no right, in my mind, to criticise the lack of atmosphere/ support.
Also, criticism of the team, manager or individual players, should always be constructive.
Surely we should all hope they do well, rather than being poised at the keyboard for every individual mistake?
Collins isn’t Ian Rush, but he tries damned hard. Bradley has had a nightmare start but is starting to look better.
Warne got too grumpy and defensive in the face of criticism and I think that’s affected the team in the past but players are back from injury and a team is emerging and PW deserves great credit for his perseverance.
If we can’t enjoy the current run then what’s the point of being a ‘fan’?

Collins offers a lot to the team.  He works so hard off the ball.  There was on bit in around the 38th minute when he tracked back from his CF position to be virtually in the RB position to provide cover and stop a Fleetwood attack - @Owen87ITK mentioned it in his commentary.
Personally, I’d start him every game.  As a lone striker he makes the defence work hard, creates space, tires them (both mentally and physically) and, contrary to popular opinion, he does score goals.  The likes of JJ can replace him with fresh legs and exploit a tired defence.  In a pair, he creates the space and does the hard work to allow his partner to take advantage.

Just watched the highlights and 3 things came to mind.
Can someone give Collins a fixture list with all games listed 'EFL Trophy'
Good to see some youngsters get game time.
Finally, if Cashin goes, can we re-sign Marriott at CB. The tackle when they looked like equalising was good, but the clearing diving header was even better. Just managed to get it clear of the near post

Bradley, Collins and Wilson my stand outs. Especially pleased with the first two and as @angieram mentioned previously, Wilson becoming a very firm favourite. Good lad! Enjoyed it with an almost surreal atmosphere. Winning is a habit whatever the competition. Well done to the whole squad and management.

I don't know what Collins has to do, to please some people, there some moaning about his MOM award. He was excellent tonight, he popped up all over the park, including tracking back and not doing any reckless challenges. His first goal was a brilliant reaction to a miss hit shot and I suspect that for his second, he told offside JJ to leave it, so he could finish it. He could have had a further 2 goals with a bit of luck, one hit the keeper and the other beating the keeper, only for it to be cleared off the line.
Similarly, Bradley also had a very good game, his best yet. I've noticed that his best performances have all come in this competition and it could be for a number of reasons, quality of opposition, small crowds reducing pressure on him and also him playing on the left side.
Too many people can't bring themselves to give credit where credit is due, constantly desperately looking for the tiniest thing to justify their point of view.
There were players who, I feel didn't have their best game tonight, but I'll keep that to myself.

You can stop that nonsense now. We're in League 1 due to a points deduction, that feels pretty real right now.

I will beg to differ, they had a 10 min spell in the first half and 15 mins at the start of this half, apart from that we have been in control.

They have looked better this half but we are much better.

With regard to the time it takes to reach a VAR decision at times, I have long held the view that if they can't find a reason to overturn a decision within 30 seconds then any mistake by the officials is neither clear nor obvious and the original decision should stand.

In both cases we were doing just fine in defence then the introduction of Bradley (no offence to him) meant a reshuffle which was unnecessarily unsettling.
I’m not going to knock PW this week though because the introduction of TJJ was great 😊
