Looking at it very simply, we've just played the current top three teams one after the other. Considering our position and our shortage of players in certain areas, taking 4 points from a possible 9 is still very good. I'm disappointed we let that late goal in but in hindsight all three goals last night were excellent -- QPR were just the better side and that's why they're 3rd in the division.
It's still doable, I'm not writing it off this side of Christmas.
    Onto the next game!

Being only 30 my memories don't go back that far compared to many.
My Grandparents got married the very day Derby won the FA cup on 27th April 1946 and my Dad's first season ticket was the 1970-71 season right at the start of a golden era, but my first real connection was getting a personal message and autograph from Jim Smith in the '90s. After that the first game I remember is Derby v Coventry in January 2000, sure I still have the programme.

Massive +1 to this. Annoying thing is nobody on the outside will be bothered about it or even notice, as we get dragged through the mud in the media as an example of the "bad boys". Can't believe I was sympathising with some Reading fans before our home game as well... ?

We rolled over and got tickled as the admin will need to show creditors that the money spent was better used on legal fees, rather than liability. Good week for Reading- 6 points for blowing FFP out the water and a new striker under wage embargo. What's happening with Stokes 90 million overspend - that's right , there being let off due to covid, I forgot.

What bargining tools did we have?...Covid-19, I thought it was a more than average chance we would win or at least a reduction.
What tools did the EFL have at their disposal?...the ability to see us go out of exsistence.
Will we find out what went off behind closed doors? who knows!, From what I thought was a good position, Turned out to be Hobsons choice.
Where does the blame lie? The football system that we play in imo, Chase that dream and win all looks good, Chase it and lose...well, We lost.
Interesting times ahead this next few months, All at DCFC will get my full support, Either at the ground or sat at home on a match day.

What frustrates me possibly more than the completely unfair and targeted sanctions is the way it's reported in the media. Most outsiders following this will just conclude in their minds that Derby cheated the system and deserved all of this, which is factually untrue as so often pointed out with raw figures and assessments on here, e.g. the figure put on the club's ground's value which was deemed to be acceptable until the the repeated EFL appeals finally agreed with them and they got their own way.
Anyway whatever happens I'll always love our club - Derby County - and support them no matter what. We have a great history (richer than most clubs in England!), a huge fanbase a future no matter what. Wearing my shirt with pride every weekend. COYR!

If so, shall we move onto the next game?
We are all disappointed in the last couple of games, but having read about sacking Rooney, players not caring, players giving up, our recruitment is awful, we are definitely down  even down without a points reduction in the last 24 hours, it's time to regroup and be realistic.
Rooney wasn't the best manager in the Championship 4 games ago and he isn't the worst now. What we do have is a thin squad mainly made up of veterans and youngsters. We started yesterday's game with half of our outfield players aged 34 to 39. With the new manager bounce they played a high tempo and we got overrun. We look tired and are ready for the international break.
Are we going down? We are certainly up against it. There are so many variables, admin points appeals, ffp appeals and takeovers and that's before we get to what happens on the pitch. I think the players are giving their all and until the Blackburn game, so were the fans. These are trying times and we need to stick together and stay optimistic. We need to still be in the fight when the New Year comes. By then we should know more about points deductions, new owners and transfer capabilities.
If we get deducted 21 points, there is little hope, but we can't give up yet. Every point is vital and every fans support is too. I hope that our fans recent negativity doesn't transmit to the games. so let's all dust ourselves down and keep supporting our great club as best we can.
I don't know if we can manage this great escape but if we do, it will take the collective will of all of us.

Derby - Hey, here's our accounts. By the way, we used an alternate method involving amortisation.
EFL - Hmmmmmm. It's unusual, but fine, we'll sign off on them.
    *Years Later*
EFL - Lol, changed our mind, now they aren't ok.

Derby - We've sold our stadium and will add the profit to our accounts.
EFL - We don't like that, but it's not against the rules. We disagree with the valuation of the stadium however.
Derby - OK. Here's a valuation from an independent company who provide a similar figure.
EFL - Nope, we don't agree with the professionals, we'll begin disciplinary action.

Independent panel - Derby didn't do anything wrong.
EFL - Meh, what do you guys know. We will appeal with a new independent panel.
New independent panel - We believe a 100k fine is appropriate for Derby's wrongdoing.
EFL - Nah, we don't like that, let's appeal. Oh and let's also try and relegate them after the season is finished.

Derby - Hey, we've renewed Jack Marriott's contract.
    EFL - OK.
    *6 months later*
EFL - Changed our mind. Marriott is free to leave. And no, you can't sign anyone to replace him, Waghorn, or any of the other players who left.
    *Months later*
Derby - Please, we don't have enough senior players to even field a team, just let us sign some.
EFL - *Sigh* Fine, but only 4 or 5. And no more than 4.5k a week! And if you re-sign players like Davies or Wisdom they will take up 1 of those spots.

Derby - Hey we're having some injury problems and would like to use a couple of young lads, but they'll then count as senior players. Can you be a little lenient with this?
    EFL - Lol no.

I'm really relieved the EFL are trying to help us and make us work. It's really nice to know they have our back.

Just stumbled across the whole game on YouTube, not sure how many else have found it on there but it was a great watch. I only found clicked on it as it was the game played closest to the day I was born.
What struck me while watching it were the comments from the late, great Brian Clough. During pre-match he talks about how being at Derby were the happiest days of his managerial career, and after the game he talked about sitting with the Spurs fans and that they had enjoyed a great game of football "despite the fact that I'm a Derby man" -- all said why manager of Forest..! Also quite topical as Maxwell had at the time turned down a bid of £3 million for us (only about £6.5 mil today).
I'm sure a few have seen this, but now the nights are drawing in and Strictly's back on the box it's a good getaway game.
