I think Rooney has an eye for a good work ethic, anyone not putting in a shift-and-a-half is out on his arse.

Should we applaud his attitude or be concerned that he was a centre half in a team that let in 6?
I for one am taking no chances and have started booing him already.

This is my point though. Two weeks ago we were all worried about going down and going into administration.  Now we are looking to how far up the table we can go.
Might be misplaced, but it’s a far better thread to be part of.

What an entirely foreseeable situation. It seems the only person who couldn’t see it was Frank himself.
He was so naive in taking the Chelsea job. He should have stayed here and grown with the club. Getting us promoted and re-established in the PL would have reflected far better on him as a manager.
For such a seemingly intelligent bloke, the lack of common sense and long-term thinking was astounding.
He knows exactly how both Chelsea as a club and Roman as an owner operate so he should have recognised that the moment he stopped hitting club targets, he would be at risk.
If no protection, time or patience was afforded to managers like Mourinho, Ancelotti and Conte, why would Roman treat him any differently?

Gisby reacted to Jourdan in Frank Lampard
He was naive to think he was ready for such a big job and could succeed where far more established managers have failed - keeping Roman happy.
At the end of the day, if you are an inexperienced manager, you work your way up and you bide your time. If Frank had progressed us as a club in the same way Nuno has done with Wolves and taken his lessons, rolled with the punches and taken the bumps and bruises along the way, he would have been far better placed to take on the Chelsea job.
If it’s your dream job, surely you want to do that job to the best of your ability and give yourself the best platform for success? So surely you take that job when you are at the peak of your powers and have considerable experience and know how behind you? 12 months of managerial experience was never likely to be enough.
There is a constant churn of managers at Chelsea. Tuchel will probably last less than two years too. Of course the opportunity would have come around if he had shown his qualities over time.
He tried to run before he could walk, and now I would imagine he is back to square one. He’ll have to take on a project like Brighton and grow the club.

Always thought he went there too soon in his managerial career. Not only was he short of the nous to seriously compete with Pep & Klopp, If it did go awry for him, his dream job is out the window at an early age and anywhere else he might go will be a personal step down for him. (In my opinion, don’t want the forum pedants thinking this is fact ?)
Wonder if his mates will be as quick to post the Should I Stay Or Should I Go Now vid ?

And as @LeedsCityRam commented, pre match huddle, (cuddle) he’s the captain! Before, during especially, and post match keep an eye on him, encouraging all the time. And with opposition players he really interacts with them, helping up after a tackle, having a smile and laugh at times. I didn’t know much about him but, listening and watching in interview, he’s a proper character. My ‘All things Polish’ bromance is being put to the test here.... ??????? ?? ?? could get messy ......

What a disgusting post. You should be ashamed of yourself. How do you know what money means to someone you've never met before? How do you know what responsibilities they shoulder either? Furthermore, Boris isn't paying anybody's wages, it'll be the taxpayer footing the bill. Likewise your suggestion that millions are now unemployed - the actual unemployment figure has risen by under 400,000 since 2019. Your hysterical, screeching hyperbole is risible. Everybody, bar the very fortunate few, is suffering to a degree, including B4, so was your post really necessary? Did it make ou feel better or was its sole purpose to make B4 feel worse?
Folk are clearly entitled to refunds but there are any amount of mitigating circumstances around the delay. It's only a few weeks back that your precious Boris was planning to allow fans back into stadiums yet we now find ourselves under full lockdown again. Should clubs be issuing multiple refunds every time Boris decides to shut up shop. Do you really think it's as simple as Mel coughing up 2-3 million to keep the peace? Do you really suppose that Derby are the exception not the rule in this regard? Have the other 23 clubs' owners done what Morris has not?
Do you really not grasp that until the EFL make a commitment to the relaxation of FFP regulations that clubs taking in a fraction of their earnings in a typical year might fear the consequences of such discretionary payments? Do you understand the GDPR implications involved and the labour costs of addressing them? We're not ducking Wonga and we don't have Grant Thornton LLC to process these transactions, nor the money to pay their fees. A ducking fleet of big 3 accountancy administrators  took the thick end of 2 years to confirm bank details and issue refunds in case you're interested. How long do you suppose it would take 6 bods in the Derby ticket office?
Instead of telling other posters to 'grow up and shut up', you might wish to grasp that the cause of the delays, apart from the huge endeavour of processing 15 to 20 thousand refunds, might sit with the primarily with the EFL and not DCFC, that is unless you're expecting Morris to process the refunds from his personal account. Had the EFL had the sense to waive FFP months back, then those clubs who could afford to do so, would no doubt have settled their debts already. You'll get your money back so perhaps in the meantime you can resist the urge to demean a poster who, setting aside learning difficulties, autism and the enhanced issues a lockdown brings, has perhaps clumsily expressed an opinion that he prioritises getting back into stadiums over a £100.00 refund. Whilst I concede that a lot of folk are struggling and that B4 has got this wrong, that does not entitle you to go after him the way you have.

Just weird imo. He's a nice guy and all and a hard worker, but he's won an award on the back of scoring a couple of goals against us in a humiliating defeat, and there's a whole thread congratulating him.
In about 30% of the games he played for us he was terrible, another 30% considerably average, 25% good, 15% quite impressive.
That wasn't just because he was played in DM or on the 'wing' (which was not out of position, it's essentially where he played for Norwich when he scored 15 goals)
His biggest problem wasn't the position he was played, it was his dearth of footballing intelligence. He was, for us, a player who didn't understand his own limitations.
He constantly tried to do things above his level of ability which usually lead to him losing the ball in stupid areas.
Once in a blue moon he'd play a defence splitting pass or something, but that's like pointing out all the times Conor Sammon showed exquisite control - it did actually happen now and then but it was a shock whenever it did rather than an expectation.
Most of the time though he'd play a really stupid pass with hardly any chance of success instead of taking the sensible option.
He often got closed down on the ball and lost it, a lot, not because there were no passes on but because you could see the cogs in his brain ticking slowly along while he dallied on the ball unaware big players around him. Like recent Rooney performances except in reverse, Rooney's body let's him down, Johnson's brain let's him down.
He also cost us plenty of goals by not following his runner at corners, similar to Hendrick in that regard.
Yes he had a bit of a rennaisance under Lampard, largely because he was the only midfielder we had with an ounce of physical presence, but as per the start of this post, for large swathes of his time here he was crap. Nothing to do with the price tag either.
There was genuinely a point where I was sick of the sight of him. I had warmed to him a bit by the end, but it doesn't overwrite all the memories of him being a liability.
A couple of long rangers, in masses of space, against us, and suddenly he's being bigged up as twice the player he is.

Nope , we offered Chris Martin a very good contract but the greedy disloyal player held us to ransom ,touted round for MORE and left ,leaving us in the lurch in the same way lampard did after keeping his options open for as long as he could , bet he would have stayed if he couldn’t leverage more elsewhere

Yeh - But we keep having to start from Year One all over again every time we get a new manager - This is my biggest frustration
For me this is the most successful Year One we've ever had - A full and proper clear out and drafted some genuine talent in from the youth setup - Now Year Two needs to be about getting the style right and establishing a spine for the team - I'm totally fine with a mid-table finish if we can see that moving in the right direction
