Does a Cheshire Cat have more lives than a West Ham Cat? Asking for my friend Kurt.

That's not an answer.
Don't you need to be quite good at English to be a journalist?

Okay, I'll try and answer this. What I think they (we) are saying is that we welcome the involvement of the EFL in as much as it will bring a level of independent scrutiny to the actions and negotiations by Quantuma that they have sadly lacked so far.
I think we've all been frustrated by the lack of communication from the administrators and the pace with which things have progressed. At very least the EFL will now know whether Quantuma are responding to Ashley, or indeed whether Ashley has contacted them directly with a genuine offer. And who else they are talking to, at what stage, and what the hold-ups are with Kirchner's bid. So far all anybody has seen is journalistic speculation on all of that, very much slanted to the point of view of which vested interest the journalists are talking to.
However, we also expect the EFL to be there as an independent body, NOT to try to influence those proceedings, just to make sure that they happen as quickly as possible, so that a resolution can be reached in time for the EFL NOT to withdraw the golden share. That resolution should not be influenced by the EFL. So, at the same time, it is maybe a warning to the EFL not to overstep their mark.
I think the EFL have enough right to be concerned about the apparent lack of progress from Quantuma.
I also think that Quantuma (and a lot of us fans) have enough right to be sceptical about the EFL's motives.
But we all need to put that aside now and work together to find a resolution. There is no truly independent body who can do this at the moment. (Roll on the implementation of the fan-led review!) That won't help us now though, and in the meantime the clock is ticking for Derby County if we want to be in the EFL next season.

Man City just bought a player for £51million, Real Madrid buying someone I’ve never heard of for 100 million Euros. I’m sure I read somewhere yesterday that Liverpool are looking to sign someone for £100million. Hear it begins, all the so called top clubs spending an awful amount of money whilst little old Derby, promised so much by a previous owner, struggle to find someone with £25m to save us.
It’s quite embarrassing to be honest

You may be right?♂️
What skill set does Trevor Birch have that is not already in place, what exactly can he add. What can he troubleshoot???
Perhaps Trevor Birch is the only one within the EFL who knows where Derby is. At least Trevor Birch knows that Derby is no where near Morecambe an issue that has confused the EFL in the past.

Really torn on the EFL statement & whether this is a positive step.
The EFL are clearly not expecting Kirchner's money to land - that must be the first assumption here. The second point (and one that I agree with them on) is that Quantuma need external oversight on both their actions & communications between bidders & interested parties. Whilst we all acknowledge that Quantuma as an insolvency practitioner have to follow insolvency law, there have been a number of allegations levied at them from well connected journalists that they have not concluded sales earlier this season despite apparent agreements being reached. There are also unsubstantiated theories abound that Quantuma are prioritising admin fees over anything else, something that can not be proven given the opaque nature of all the discussions to date.
In summary, it is clear that there is a total lack of confidence in Quantuma & given the timescales, I do agree the EFL should be concerned at how long this could drag on. The problem then comes with the role of the EFL, an organisation so hopelessly tainted by their incompetence, agenda driven petulance & fact that they are easily manipulated by parties without DCFC's best interest at heart. That may or may not include one or more of the current bidders.
Two things do strike me though. Firstly, this is Quantuma's last ever gig in football administration - they're finished after this. Secondly, there will be a conclusion to this in the coming days & I do believe it will result in the club being sold. I do hope that any brinkmanship tactics the EFL employ (specifically around threats of expulsion) are kept private with Quantuma for the benefit of fans' mental health.

Jackal reacted to Crewton in Malcolm Ebiowei yeah? Gone to C Palace.
In the case of Plange and Ebiowei, you can't expect a young player to develop a strong sense of loyalty to a club they only joined last summer, when PL clubs come calling.
In the case of Ebosele, he had a dilemma : back in early February, it was touch and go as to whether we'd even survive as a club. We couldn't even offer him a contract. Then a Serie A club comes along offering a €1m signing on fee and a €0.5m pa contract, but you expect him to wait to see if Derby can pay him the same salary without that signing on fee? I think you're not being either fair or realistic.

You don't have to be that fit to clean a pair of boots. I regularly clean mine with no more than a 5 minute sit down half way through and I'm not even a Premier League player.

The point is, that it doesn't much matter if the takeover doesn’t finalise for another couple of weeks. As long as Kirchner is fully committed and funding the club, it's fine.
The barometer of his committednes is whether he's funded the wages or not. Imo, that is the test here.
He can say what he likes on Twitter...talk is cheap. Nixon can give deadlines...they don't matter as long as someone is paying the bills. It's all in the payroll.
I'm not demeaning Kirchner - I have no idea what he'll turn out like. At this point he's not the messiah, and he's not even a very naughty boy. He's just a prospective new owner.

At the moment it's hard to see who and how many players we need until we know who we manage to retain/offer new contracts together. Presuming we manage to keep the core of the squad together though, one of the first targets for me needs to be a CF and another wide man.
