I dunno Roy I personally abhor all of this trial by social media, name and shame on Facebook crap.

If someone has done something wrong then absolutely they should be punished through our judicial system.

I'm on the fence tbh. However, I do think that a lot of people like him got away with this kind of behaviour because teams/friends closed ranks and stuff got shut down.

It was easy to do that 20+ years ago, now it isn't and people who maybe wouldn't have spoken out are forced to do so.

Whereas I think social has gone too far in many cases, it has also brought a lot of people to justice and stopped a lot of stuff from being swept under the carpet.

Enjoying series two of The Righteous Gemstones on Sky.

Wonderfully silly comedy about a dysfunctional family that has made its wealth collecting from their congregation in the Bible Belt.

    Makes me laugh anyway ?

I liked the first series and will check that out after I've finished The Sinner and watched Responder.

I had all mine done two years ago , full crown veneers and root canal to some teeth before fitting , after years of constant tooth ache and terrible looking teeth I decided enough was enough , we personally knew a dentist in turkey who did fantastic work , one week in the sun to get all the work done , something that would have been about 50 k in the U.K. cost me under 4 k , you choose your shade , didn’t go radioactive white but a few shades down , I really like the look and it’s an absolute joy not to be constantly getting grumbling tooth ache

I rarely get toothache, don't remember having it in 15 years or so. But my teeth aren't great, very soft and chip easily and I have a few crowns and 3 implants.

I did have a couple of the implants whilst in the US and they cost me $6k each!

I may go to Turkey. I'm sure if I wonder around the beach and ask if anybody wants to fix my teeth for £4k I'll get come takers.

And I would definitely dial the shade back a bit. I'm not against people having their teeth looked after, it's the insane whitrness that seems bizarre to me.

  5. The people with the ultra white (teeth not Daz washing powder) have not had them whitened, they're veneers.

I mean, I'm sure many have had them whitened but they don't go crazy white by that method, it just removes any staining. Otherwise it would take the enamel off and that wouldn't be good.

I'm with @Ewe Ram, I think they have snap on teeth.

A word of warning if you have eaten in the last 3-weeks. Don't think it would be funny to post a picture of terrible teeth with a caption of this years winner of The Apprentice and then go trawling the internet for such a snap shot.

    The stage is set.

    I was the same.

I'm sick of the Niners and everything about them.

They really are up there with Forest as the one of the teams I dislike most in sport.

I saw the Rams play in San Francisco on 5 occasions and every time their fans were a bunch of Bamfords.

Other than a one-off event in Minneapolis once I've never met such whiny inhospitable fans and I've seen the Rams play in a bunch of different places.

It's time to send the team in red home blubbing on their way and for the Rams to advance!

  7. I was going to ask the wife to check the BP last night, but she didn't think she had a cuff that could have taken the pressure.

We tried everything to give that away a missed field goal, a snap over Staffords head. Ramsey stumbling and letting Evans in behind him and just a mere 4 turnovers, but we hung on in true Rams agains the world style!

So now we have to beat our hated local rivals who wear red in a Derby game and who we just cannot bye a win against at the moment.

    Sound familiar?

I predicted Bengals, 49ers, Rams, and Chiefs to win, so last night was a good night ?

Bengals are a good o line away from being a dominant force, most everything else is already there. Maybe a couple of other pieces on defense too.

Other than the left tackle, that line is horrendous.

    The same.

It’s something we often comment on. People have stupidly white teeth and, even worse, they have luminous white top sets and yellow bottom sets.
I know you can buy temporary snap on top sets of teeth so wonder if they dish them out on shows like The Apprentice. I also notice so many people now talk with a lisp.

Oh wow, I thought you wondered if they made them, not knew they did. Bummer, I was looking forward to pitching that in the den.

If you see me on Dragons Den selling snap on teeth, you’ll know where the idea came from.

  11. When I moved to the US in 2006 people over here had normal teeth, even on TV.

Now it seems we have gone down the US route of everybody having bright white veneers.

Sarah Parish, in the dreadful Stay Close, looked utterly ridiculous her teeth were so white. Nobody born in England in their fifties has teeth that bright.

Then the other day I was watching The Apprentice (don't judge me) and it seemed 80% of them had teeth whiter than any naturally occurring substance found on planet earth. For half the program it's all I could focus on, they look preposterous.

    When did this start happening?

And more importantly, does anybody know where I can get mine done on the cheap?

And if you’re going to comment to say every club has this sort of fan then don’t bother, tired of making excuses based on the fact other clubs have fans who don’t know right from wrong after a shandy too.

People respond that way because it's true.

Pointing that out is not making excuses for them, it's merely saying is has nothing to do with us.

And it's not just other clubs, it's every other club that has such imbeciles.

Football clubs are merely a representation of society.

It's really annoying and I agree that they wan't weaselling out in, and we can all do that as fans rather than just say we're tired about how things are.

Post the link and I'll dive into that thread and call them out and my Twitter account uses my real name.

Disagree. Golden rule of comedy is you can mock whoever you like. As long as it's funny.

Well, of course you're entitled to your opinion, I'm just saying it's an unwritten rule of the majority of comics and writers.

I'm not saying there's no exceptions, or it's applicable to satire, and I'm not saying you can't laugh at whatever you find funny. I'm just saying it exists.

Possibly the greatest teacher of comedy Stephen Rosenfield talks about it in his book as does Jimmy Carr in Before and Laughter.

There are very few bigoted attack comedians like Bernard Manning left.

  14. Stay Close on Netflix

I used to love James Nesbitt, but I this is one (bad) cop drama too many for him.

A horrible script that plumbed the depths of implausibility and then went a bit deeper was worsened by acting that was more wooden than Pinocchio on stilts.

Cartoonish characters and a competition to see who had the whitest veneers in the cast (won by Sarah Parish in case you're interested) didn't help.

Izzard tried his best to drag this mess up to respectability, but to little avail.

Coming on the back of watching succession and the top drawer acting and clever script that had to offer I felt like I'd gone from driving a Ferrari to a milk float. A very old milk float at that.

Ricky Gervais is a guy it would be easy to slap.

He can be funny and insightful. He can also be very cruel and he’s too keen to shock. His excessive use of the C word has no place other than to offend. His portrayal of anyone not conventionally seen as attractive is hurtful. He portrays gay men as camp and somehow seedy.

He will claim it’s just fiction, but he writes it time and time again. Every now and then his frustrations chime with my own and I’m with him but it’s not long before he says or does something I find abhorrent.

Just my opinion of course but that’s where I am with him.

    I love him.

I do think that he used it too much in this series, but it can be incredibly effective is used sparingly. His line to the ginger kid in the last series used it brilliantly well.

He mocks his own looks on Twitter regularly.

A golden rule of comedy is you can mock people who fit into your *group*.

If you're Catholic you can mock Catholics. If you're Irish you can mock Irish people. And if you're ugly and overweight you can mock those people. If he was tall, athletic and good looking he couldn't get away with it.

I'm ashamed of 'supporters' like you who can't wait to turn on these players who have been giving absolutely everything for us, despite the circumstances they find themselves in.

I'm really upset that people like you can't wait to crawl out of the woodwork at the first sign of adversity and quite frankly I'd be quite happy to lose 'fans' like you.

Yeh, they didn’t lack battle or heart today, they just came up short.

    It happens.
