  1. I'm sure that Nixon will claim to have 'broken' all of our signings as they happen.

He's an attention seeker who knows very little, says quite a lot and always claims credit whatever the outcome.

I bet he was a middle child

Is that a typo and you put Kane by accident and really meant someone else?

Kane is arguably the best, most complete CF in the world right now, if he’s not getting the ball he drops into midfield and dictates play himself. Just spend 5 minutes watching him.

I'm with you. Kane is arguably the best centre forward in the world in terms of his contribution to the team play.

Ask Son at spurs how much he does off the ball if anybody is in any doubt.

  3. I'm not too concerned about the loss of Wildsmith.

He did well for us, but personally I'd only say he is a decent keeper. He isn't commanding, he isn't the best with the ball at his feet, and when the pressure is on he is likely to make a mistake. I also hate his ridiculous time wasting which winds up the opposition and turns the referees against us in close games.

Sorry but wing back is not Sibley’s best position. He did a job for us last season-credit to him for being a good lad and team player.

But having watched a fair few championship games last season the wide players are stronger quicker and good with the ball at their feet. Much better standard of football than the last time we where in the championship. I’m afraid Sibley would be rinsed most weeks at wing back.

He’s a 10 and needs a team that’s going to play to his strengths and a manager that’s going to tell him he’s going to play every week through the ups and downs then we may see the player that came through the ranks with so much potential. That could be back in L.1

    Big decision for lad.

We'll have to agree to disagree.

I personally don't think he'll make a championship number 10 if he played 46 games in a row under Pep Guardiola.

  5. Sibley is a good wing back but he has to accept mentally, that this is his best position.

In league 1 he can cope on raw ability but in the Championship he will have to work his bo**ocks off and improve in all aspects. He has all of the necessary tools, but he has to believe that it's his future.

I hope he does because, as a 10, his future will never be above league 1 and in my opinion, probably lower than that.

Can only beat the teams in front of you, but it's league one. Let's not get carried away.

We haven't won this many away from home when we've played at this level previously, so it's important not to underplayed it as an achievement just because some people have an opinion about the manager or the style of play

  7. He didn't suit modern football in my opinion.

I always thought that sticking him up front on his own and then asking him to effectively close the two centre halves down, by doing doggies across the pitch, was a complete waste of energy.

In my opinion, if he'd been born 20 years earlier, where everybody played two up front, he'd have become a legend.

He gave me some great memories in his short spell here so I don't wish him any ill will at all.

OK just for you, it was handball.

But the reality is we created the better chances and didn't take them, and a lot of credit has to go to your goalie. Equally, the responsibility lies with our strikers who are simply not as ruthless as our usual starters, especially Dion Charles.

As I mentioned during the match when we were battering you but couldn't score in a brothel, it was obvious that you'd get a scabby goal to win it which you did, but that's football folks - you don't always get what you deserve, and we didn't deserve to lose that, not that you care.

The irony is that it was Kane Wilson who was credited with the goal - a player we'd agreed a fee with Brizzle to sign, but didn't in the end as his personal terms and wage demands were too high for us, so he came to you instead.

    Anyhoo, onwards and sideways.....

    Credit to our Goalie?

Maybe if he wasn't sent off incorrectly at your place the points gap between us would be even greater.

Ay up Loughie, you know "some of the fans" will criticise him even if it does work ...

Ey up Amster, keeping well i hope. I was trying not to be too antagonistic to be honest.

There are too many threads on here that degenerate into a Warne hating/loving mess, where neither side is willing to concede an inch.

Sometimes it's nice to discuss the football, after all if you can't enjoy being second with 9 games to go then I think that footballs probably not for you.

Let’s hope he doesn’t get injured then. Be interesting to see what Warne opts to do.

Let's hope he doesn't get injured in the first minute against Bolton if we save him!

You can't plan to avoid injuries, in my opinion, or your best players would never play.

Warne will do what he will do, and whichever way he goes he will be criticised by some of the fans if it doesn't work but in my opinion, sitting in second place, with a good chance of winning the league, with 9 games to go, you have to be all in for every game.

But he is 35 and didn’t play for weeks, 3 games in a week might be too much…

I prefer "he is ONLY 35". Manage his training if you have to but games is what it's all about at this stage. He's started the last 2 or 3 games and as Spalding says, he'll be absolutely flying having scored a couple of goals.

Can Connor and Gayle manage 3 games in a week? I would be inclined to play Smith and Waggers, then bring Gayle on in the second half to save him a bit for Saturday when he will start.

Dwight Gayle should be as fresh as a daisy. If he is your first choice number 9, he should play.

With so few games left, every result matters, so you play your best team unless injury or suspension says otherwise

Should we let him go this Summer then ? Perhaps sign another 30 + year old player to replace him ?

No. I think we should play him at left wing back.

If we don't then why keep him, if we have better in every other position?

In front of goal he’s got poise and killer instinct

I think he does some things well but he doesn't offer the team a consistent contribution in any other position than left wing back in my opinion.

And I know we'll get the argument that he's never been given a run of games in any position, but it's a chicken and egg situation. He needs to grab the opportunities he has been given and make himself undroppable, and I'd argue that the only time he's done that is when he plays at left wing back.
