I don't recall us saying that Peterborough's best players aren't good enough.  Indeed Burrows, Randall and Knight have been mooted on here as signings with good potential at a level higher than they'll be playing.
They will be favourites as they finished 3rd bottom.  In reality though their best player was a loanee and anyone decent will want out in case they don't come up.  We'll see if it's a problem if they spend millions and don't come up.  The misery of a pitch made of reconstituted sand where the ball ping pongs around the land of the giants awaits.  Takes a while to get used to.

To be honest, they've won it about 20% of the time it's existed and reached the final about 25% of the time. They've been in the last 4 about 50% of the time. They're probably kings of the competition if anyone is.  Last team to beat them in a European knockout competition final - Aberdeen in 1983.  

I worked with someone years ago who took her nieces to Jodrell Bank.  They had some competition for the kids, adults helping, and one of the problems to solve was putting planets in the solar system in correct order and quickest got a prize.  From behind was shouting and much urgency with anger at finishing second.  She turned around and it was Alex and a couple of kids.
