A good foundation to build on, for sure. Definite change in philosophy, albeit not always executed brilliantly in some phases of play, as I still felt the ball when in the final third became slow but getting the ball into the final third was markedly quicker. I did like the set up of the team and everyone knew their job - brave to set up like that away from home but Chester and Cashin are brilliant in those wide centre back positions. Osula came on and gave an indication of what he is about and can do for us going forward. Dobbin showed his quality. Collins looked like a different player with someone near him.
Impressive performance away from home, most importantly a great start for Warne and the confidence of the team going forward.

Well, that was an excellent day out.
Listened to the last few Radio Derby podcasts on the drive to Cambridge, and heartened to hear PW say he does not like passing it across the pitch and backwards, and gameplay has to be positive. Could see this in the players and their thinking whereas in previous games they would have kept passing across the back, whereas now they thought, better not do that, so it was a forward pass instead.
V impressed with PW setting up cones, getting directly involved with the warm up and shooting drills.
Seeing him lose his nut on the sidelines when instead of forward movement a backward pass was made.
I know it's only one game but his whole ethos on how football should be played and positivity really makes me feel very positive about the future as well.
Well done to David Clowes and his team on headhunting PW and his team of coaches as their approach is exactly what we need.

That win should be dedicated to all those amazing Rams fans who have continued to pack out those away ends over the psst 40 odd games, and suffered so much dross.
    I applaud you all ? .

I just want to say how lucky you are to have Paul Warne as manager. I've supported the millers for 69 years. Obviously, I've seen managers come and go during that period. As far as I'm concerned, and many other fans Warne is the best manager we've had.
Like Derby fans we went through some dark times. Administration points deducted, lost our ground, forced to play in Sheffield in an athletic stadium. No atmosphere, 4 years in the 4th division.
Paul has many qualities. Excellent staff management, a workaholic. He's articulate, honest and will live and breathe Derby County.
I thank him for all the memories, 3 Wembley wins 3 promotions and I wish him well and as a consequence wish the Rams well. I've never had a second team, but for the first time Derby County will be my second team. I look forward to seeing Paul succeed.
Hopefully Derby will be promoted and we survive in the championship and look forward to see you at the New York stadium.
    All the best.

sibley is still a baby in football terms but is massively experienced for his age now.

it will serve him well long term, it is why the make or break comment on this thread are quite silly really. he could linger for another 5 years and still have time on his side.

Just read that Louie Sibley has passed his driving test, its easy to forget how young some of these players are
when you are watching them week in and out for years.
Makes you realize just how well they have progressed into the first team!
Congrats,  keep up the good work

After watching this several times, my conclusion is that Barks has genuinely gone down due to
Thompson putting his boot flat on the ground in front of his right foot leaving Barks with no way
to move it forward, hence the immediate fall  -  a foul

So, if I’ve got my maths right, the 8th game of the 22/23 season will be our 5,000th league game, wow, that’s really something. Wonder if the marketing men will create a special souvenir shirt for that game...I’d buy one. ?

Two ways of looking at it really.
No, I’m not enjoying us being in League One. It’s grim to be two divisions below all our rivals, unable to spend a penny whilst they’re splashing tens of millions on players. It’s a long way back and it’s depressing to think about really. A club like Derby County, with our fan base and history, shouldn’t be in this league with all these tinpoint salty clubs. But we are, thanks to our t*** of a former owner.
However, what I enjoy more than anything is watching Derby win football matches - whatever the competition or level. So in that regard, it’s nice to actually be battling at the right end of the table (so far anyway) after scrapping in a relegation fight for the last few years. After all, that’s what footballs about - that feeling when the final whistle goes and you’ve got 3 points in the bag. I’d much prefer it if we were scoring more goals to be fair - we’ve been starved in that regard for years, and it’s not started too well this season either. But if we get promoted this season, I’ll be getting just as drunk as I would if we got promoted to the Premier League, believe me!

I think it's been enjoyable but we've had the bigger league 1 teams at home and are just beginning our away travels. Oxford, Peterborough and Barnsley are all clubs that will be up and around the top whilst arguably having a better fan-base than average for this division so are bringing a few fans with them. Plymouth will be the same next week. Six months in we may not like this- playing Cheltenham on a saturday where they bring 150 might not be quite as much fun as we expect especially if we're struggling to grind out a result.

The football is fine but you can see a difference in quality in the key areas such as finishing and keeping concentration in the defence. I think if we're plotting a way back to the second division this season we need to keep that in mind.

I guess finally as well this does seem to be a league with a generally 'mardy' set of fans. Already encountered a few fans with chips on their shoulders because we're the 'massive derby county' and daring to celebrate a late winner against their 'tiny outfit'. Hopefully that dissipates too as it's quite unbecoming and unnecessary.

Stadium full, some skill on display, missing a few goals but I think they will come. Interesting that you see great passages of play with good skill that is at least equal to the championship but then the increased frequency of unforced errors in shots and passing is noticeable … but hardly matters to me. Referees are a lot less fussy and more ready to let play continue which is an improvement in my mind.
