Xmas Eve: make a minestrone (I'm a superb cook, honest!). Follow Santa's progress on NASA website. Visit local pub and maybe midnight mass (although I may still be on the church-watch register)
Xmas Day: Santa's presents. Poached egg, salmon and cream cheese bagels. Family presents. Dinner with home made crackers (think I once put diamond ear rings in as the gift). Queens speech (everyone stands for NA). Games and party food.
Boxing Day: Everyone gets each other a gift costing £1
Films: Its a wonderful life, A Christmas Carol, Black Mirror White Christmas
Carols: God Rest You Merry Gentlemen
Despite my age, Xmas is still magical for me, I'm very lucky and know that alot of others are not.

Seriously, I'd probably do tours of Derbyshire non-league games with like-minded mates, having the crack, visiting great pubs, drinking great beer, and never give Sky, the EFL or the EPL another penny or a second thought.

I'm doing it, Did the Fleet 1/2 marathon a couple of times for GOSH... that was 20 years ago though - maybe I should start doing some road-work in preparation... How long do I have? ?

I don't think this can be manufactured in the way we are trying. All football songs come about spontaneously - Stoke singing Delilha started when some geezer in the crowd tried to get the attention of his mate... "Oi, Tom.... Tom.... Jonezy.... Tom lad.... Jonezy...".
I don't know why Sheff Utd sing Annie's Song (version of) but it's great!
Ok, Sweet Caroline so joyous at the Euro's, happened (I think) because the Wembley DJ kept playing it? but its an established sports song on both sides of the pond.
It needs to be timeless, ours and timeless and ours - so stop suggesting your favourite pop song (ok, I did a few pages back, but...)

We do have our very own ditty, just need to jazz it up a bit:
As I was going to Derby, Sir,
    All on a market day,
I met the finest Ram, Sir,
That ever was fed on hay.
    Daddle-i-day, daddle-i-day,
    Fal-de-ral, fal-de-ral, daddle-i-day.

This Ram was fat behind, Sir,
    This Ram was fat before,
This Ram was ten yards high, Sir,
    Indeed he was no more.
    Daddle-i-day, etc.

The Wool upon his back, Sir,
    Reached up unto the sky,
The Eagles made their nests there, Sir,
For I heard the young ones cry.
    Daddle-i-day, etc.

I first started going to games in Arthur's last few seasons, but White Christmas would still get a regular airing on the Popside back then.

Maybe that's why Steve Bloomers Watching hasn't been completely taken in? We should have carried on with White Christmas if you remember the game against Newport Dec 1985? - although it would be a strange song on a Hot August Night

Curtis was captain when my two girls were mascots, he said to them in the tunnel; "I always head the ball as we run out... but if your too cool for that don't worry..."
Top guy! Maybe him staying is the watershed?

So let’s start right at the very beginning…….It was Wednesday the 7th May 1884 when the very first mention was leaked in the Derby Mercury, it was hidden away on page five that the Derbyshire County Cricket club were to form a football club under Association rules and so it began.

GSTQ is rousing, but then (I'm biased) it's my national anthem. Totally agree that England should have our own and GSTQ used only for the UK.
Jerusalem is the obvious choice, my only question would be the Christian connection to it (Jerusalem is holy to Muslims and the Jewish faith point to note). Our anthem has to be all inclusive.
As for other nations, I like Russia's... But take a look at my avatar ?

Just finished the second series of Snowpiercier - really enjoyed it (it may be an acquired taste). Dystopian, political, megalomaniac and a big duck-off train - what's not to like?
Be a good idea to watch the movie first.

Consistently good. Sometimes a series can be let down by one or two episodes...not this one.
