    What about the auditors regulator?
That quote is from the original decision.
I find it astonishing that the club, its auditors, their regulators and the original IDC (which included an actual accountant - imagine that!) can be under the impression it's all fine and dandy, totally in line with FRS 102. But a new panel, none of which are accountants, can apparently say it's not, and their decision is final...
    Unbelievable, absolutely unbelievable.

The punishment applied to Derby is given by the original disciplinary body. Derby can appeal against the punishment but if the EFL don’t feel it’s sufficient, they cannot appeal it.

“My love for Derby county will always be unconditional” ... until it comes to claiming every penny I am owed from them after I injured myself by being a stupid Bamford
Can’t say I would blame anybody for seeking what they are owed but I do object to faux nonsense about loving the club when that is now provably untrue.
I guess once you’ve cost a club £100m then what is another £2.5m to add to the kitty

If he hadn’t messed his knee up and been out for months he would have been disciplined like the others. The fact he couldn’t play and wouldn’t accept a reduced contract whilst using the clubs facilities for his rehabilitation meant the club were without their captain, an asset (whole new meaning these days!!) through no fault of their own.

We definitely keep him. No club in their right mind will buy a player who is just coming back from his second ACL in 2 years.
He'll need an injury free full season before the vultures seriously circle.

I must be one of the few people who thinks Mike Dean is a actually a good referee, he takes an awful lot of stick at times ( mainly for actually having a personality ) but is never afraid to call it as he sees it.
    Long live Mike Dean!

The fact it went down to the last game of the season is relevant. All teams played 46 games, Derby managed to get more points than 3 teams which meant we are a championship team next season. You can argue the fact that Wednesday had a points deduction, but everyone including them knew this at the start of the season. Looking at today's game and with sky sports replays, the first goal came from a throwing that was ours (Forsyth never touched the ball). Their 3rd goal was scored by a player in an offside position. If there was VAR it would have resulted in a 3-1 win to the Rams.
And please, lets not have anyone stating Rotherham having to play all those games in hand over such a short period of time hindered them. When they pulled the Covid card (not once but Twice) they did have enough players to play their games. The EFL should have adopted the same ruling as the FA, Derby played their cup game against Chorley with enough fit players. It is what it is, we are in the championship for next season, lets go again (Barnsley did this season).

    No it hasn't.
They've had all season to overturn a points deduction, and were partly successful having it reduced to 6.
Their deduction is fully finalised and incontestable.

Our appeal is for a relatively minor offense, no way could the EFL deduct points even if successful.

I don't understand the discussion here, the season is over,  there has already been an appeal by Wednesday which resulted in a reduced points deduction, we have past the deadline on point deductions. Its done dusted, finito..complete,  finished.

Big man for CKR from me for his efforts this season. Playing with painkilling injections carrying injury and teams realising he is our main striker made him tail off but the heart he's given this season deserves recognition.

No. This is the standardised compensation value set out in the EPPP compensation guidelines.
There is figure per year from the 9-11 fixed at 3k per year. There is then a fee per year based on academy status from 12 to 16 which varies from 12.5k to 40 depending academy status.
A worked example would be that Player x joins Derby at age 8 and is now being picked up by any other academy at 15.
    3 k for years 9-11 = 9k
3 years for 12 to 15 @ 40k as Derby is the elite academy.
That's your fee and I presume your 129k but that assumes these players have been with us since early. If it's someone we picked up at 14...we are entitled to 40k.
The per games compensation is fixed thereafter UNLESS another agreement is made between the two clubs which guarantees an income now.
So risk vs reward if those 3 15 year old go on to make 100 appearances for United it costs them 7.75m each player spread over the years the appearances take.
Or they could give Derby 2m now ans Derby forego any entitlement to future earnings from the players.

Aside from the fee you get per year they are in the academy you also get the below based on appearances.  What I'm not sure about is how it is applied. I presume it only applies to the club that signs and not all future transfers but really not sure.
Effectively if one of the U15s goes on to make 100 appearances for United we would get a further £7.5m in increments.

Well that was the case. He didn't play for over a year.
Any player on that salary will be insured against injury that ends there career or limits earnings.  Any club will insure the player due to injury re transfer cost at market value for replacement.
No insurer is going to pay out in this instance where there's been a clear dereliction of terms.  Why would the club lose out on a players. value, pay him a full wage and pay out for a replacement.   The fact they offered him any wage plus full use of state of the art medical facilities was an amazing offer.
The bloke caused his own downfall.  The only reason Lawrence and Bennett were retained by the club was they didn't get a custodial sentence.  Sure if someone had offered a few million for Lawrence he'd have been moved on at the earliest opportunity like Bennett.
