It's good to see that the vast majority of people on here understand football. In my opinion Collins WILL get goals for Derby and WILL create goals for others, without a doubt.

I think that anybody who is prepared to write off a centre forward because he hasn't scored for three games is either on a wind up or needs an alternative hobby other than watching football.

Agree 100% with this. The man has played 2 and a bit games and been unlucky not to score. The way this has been commented on anyone would think he hasn't scored for 10 games. The whole debate is bloody ridiculous.

  2. I'm shocked my suggestion of Darren Ferguson has been largely dismissed! The man has a truly fantastic CV in the lower leagues especially League One.Four promotions with the Posh and one with Donny.Apart from a dodgy few months at PNE his record is absolutely brilliant.People pointing out he struggled in the championship..but they were the worst supported team and alongside having to sell their best players for big fees. One season they were relegated with a massive 54 points the highest points total ever for a team relegated.Another season Peterborough were the highest scorers in all 4 divisions 106 goals! Compare that with our abysmal totals the last few seasons. And if we did get promotion back into the championship we'd be one of the best supported clubs not the worst. If we are looking for a manager with an exceptional record whilst on a very tight budget in League one young Fergie is our man.

If Wayne Rooney didn't fancy starting another season with no money, no players, no owner, who can blame him? I admire absolutely everything he has done for our club and we'll be a poorer place without his presence.  Hope he acheives great things wherever he goes next.

Maybe he didn't fancy all that crap when also told a massive pay cut was coming.Who can blame him.?

    Dear Killjoy ?

Absolutely not. As people and supporters of Derby County they are complete polar opposites. David Clowes is not an egomaniac. He is a quite modest and private person despite his business success, just like his father before him. He is also truthful and on taking over the club he will have no need to re-invent himself as a lifelong supporter of the club - unlike Mel he has been a supporter since boyhood. Mel did not go to watch Derby until well after the Millennium and his claim to have been a boyhood fan was utter BS.

I never enjoyed Morris being our owner and my fears came to devastating fruition. But in contrast I welcome David Clowes as our owner with open arms because I am certain he will bring stability. He modestly sits as a season-ticket holder in the North Stand. So at last, if he completes his takeover bid, at long last we will again have an owner who truly is one of our own.

I can't wait for the season tickets to go on sale.

Great comments Re MM! That's what I've long suspected.Im about the same age as MM...first game in 1967BC.Home and away for donkeys years and I reckon we've all got stories and memories from back in the day....Big Rogers hattrick v Spurs in the FA Cup..That time the bloody coach broke down coming back from Blackpool...And your jammy mate Dave who pulled that gorgeous barmaid in the pub in Melton Mowbray where we stopped on the way home from Ipswich. Now in all the interviews I've ever heard MM give not once have I heard him tell such stories about his time as a Rams fan! Lifelong Rams fan?Utter balderdash!

Lampard didn’t want us to get promoted because it made his decision to leave much easier. He already knew before the play off final that Chelsea were coming for him.

And the circus that followed whether he was leaving or not was just comical.

This is the biggest load of total utter rubbish I've ever read on any football forum anywhere anytime! To actually think that a top class professional sportsman ( a winner his whole career)would actually want the team he in charge of to lose a majorly important football match " to make going to Chelsea easier" is sheer lunacy! Imagine hoping to get your dream job on the back of failure? The whole idea is stark staring bonkers. I don't usually like the phrase but anyone who thinks this is feasible ought to go away and "give their head a serious wobble!?

Who would like that idea? Just to spite Morris? Insane. Hate groundshare option - watch crowds plummet. Look at Coventry fiasco.

But why Leicester or Stoke? Surely given that scenario it would make more sense to share with Notts County? Lovely little ground with a capacity of around 20,000 perfect for League One and only 20 minutes away.

Weimann 19 goals for the season now. Seems a million miles away from the player we had who struggled to break into double figures season after season.

I always thought he was an excellent player.Performed very well in the Premier League with Villa before he signed for us..yet most of our fans didn't think he was good enough for Championship Derby County.Mostly playing him out of position obviously didn't help.

How many players are still under contract for next season?

We could have basically a completely new team for next season. Thats going to cost a fair bit if we are going to compete. I worry that some people's perception is that we will come straight back up. My feeling is that we could struggle again.

Sorry for the pessimism but feeling down.

And with minus 15? Very tough league and if we start on minus 15 it will be extremely difficult. Its great to be optimistic but sometimes reality comes to the fore.

OK so I thought it was the international break still.

Very pleasantly surprised at 5pm when I saw the scoreline.

Just when you want to throw your hands up and declare that you're done with this season, somehow we manage to hang on in there.

Great technique from Morrison for the goal.

    Keep up Joe!

  10. I've crunched the numbers...if Reading have a really poor end to the season as we all hope...let's say win 1.. draw 3..lose 3..I think we can agree that's terrible form..that would leave them on 40 points. That would mean the Rams needing to finish really strongly.. 3 wins and 3 draws which would also leave us on 40 points and put us just above Reading on goal difference.A massive ask and I've not even mentioned Barnsley.

Dominant first half, they haven't scored in a month, confidence on its arse, booed from the 10 th minute, our chance to go two points from Reading as it stood.  That second half can't happen. It's impossible.  What the absolute duck.  Game over

I've just checked Blackburns results...in their last nine games in January February and March Blackburn had scored precisely One goal...in nine matches before tonight. Just let that sink in.
