Born in Kent, moved to Littlover/Normanton (Warwick Ave, estate agents call it Littleover but we all really know it's not) when three, moved away to go to Uni, nearly forty years later live in Warwickshire, just outside Straford Upon Avon (moved here in 2005 to cash in on the housing boom that would come from the 2012 Olympics before realising too late it was the other Stratford). Got into Derby as John Robson lived next door when I was a nipper and his wife used to take me to the games.

The Rams are my only tie now to my home town, if I go back now you can recognise me easily. I'm the one driving up Cornmarket because I haven't realised it's pedestrianised or asking people in Eagle Centre Market why Ben's Pot Stall has shut down.

What about 'Mad Harry'...is he still about?

Grew up in Lincoln in the 70s and started following Arsenal after they won the double in 1971. My favourite player was Charlie George and when he moved to Derby so did I and stuck with them ever since

Things true football fans should never say..'I used to support(insert team)now I support.....

Zero goals there unfortunately, Morrison is far from prolific and Baldock isn’t going to get into double figures. Goals win games, we need goals

When you put it like that you're correct.. we're really in the mire.Im pinning my hopes on Lawrence and Josiak stepping up to the plate and getting somewhere near double figures.

Clough was a better comparison, but we can agree that we want Wazza to get better. I would love nothing better than for you to spoon feed me humble pie Curtains ???

Even Clough cannot be compared..yes we finished one place lower than the previous season .I was there!....but he was building a team who would go on to smash that division the next season..and a team who many were crowned League Champions a few years later. Can anyone imagine this bunch Rooney has cobbled together will be Premier League Champions in 2025?

Southgate's stated that the players taking the penalties were the best during practice, so he had no problem with the younger players taking pens before the more experienced players. This is all well and good but  out of the three youngsters why did he have the youngest and least experienced player at number five. The last penalty is sudden death. This is the position that puts the most pressure on any of the first five players.

The last penalty is not always sudden death. If we'd scored the previous 4 it would be a dead rubber.

Ian Evatt, started off well, Barrow and Bolton, couldn’t tell you anymore about him, style of football, signings he’s made and all that.

Paul Cook has been at Ipswich for 4 months. Won just 4 of the 16 games in charge.

Nigel Adkins? Only managed Charlton for 10 games and they were 8th when he took over!

Neil Critchley, can see why he’s been suggested, took Blackpool up, but couldn’t tell you anything more about him same as Evatt.

    Chris Wilder? Ridiculous.

If that’s the top 5, with the cost it would be to sack him, think I’ll stick with Rooney but thanks all the same

I think it's you being very naive if you think our fanbase would reject a manager who has a very good track record so far in management.. almost unblemished in fact.Over someone who has an appalling record in management regardless of the way he totally undermined the previous manager.Put the records of these two men in front of our fans and take a vote and I'm pretty damn sure of the way it would turn out. And your dismissal of Wilder as a possible new manager is very strange...up until a couple of years ago he was a lower league boss who quite frankly with most fans hardly registered on the radar..You make him sound like Pep or Jose!..if he was given the job as manager of our fantastic club it would be the biggest accolade of his career.

The way I see it is (going on what Steve Nicholson  posted last week) is that any points deduction is likely to be carried into the following season, and the discussion academic. If the worst scenario happens, (retrospective), it happens and there is not a lot we can do about it as it is out of our hands.

We couldn't even get the job done ourselves, we needed a late favour off Cardiff. It was in our hands, win the game, 3pts, safety guaranteed. I'm not concerned about Wednesday, another big club run badly.  I just meant that we were the ultimate beneficiaries of their 6pts deduction.

I disagree, surely you need some recovery time, three games a week, surely that impacts upon the squad?  I know footballers like excuses, but other factors come into play, travel etc. We've seen it with the Euros, the Welsh having to play & travel 5,000 miles, the Belgians having 48 more hours recovery time than Portugal. I actually think we gambled on Rotherham running out of gas.

Yeah, I know the league table is as it stands with Wycombe, 22nd & it's not going to change, but over the whole season, they were never really in the battle for survival and they are deceiving themselves if they think otherwise. 5W in 35, 6W in the last 11, they played with the handbrake off. I find it dishonest that the Wycombe owner is dressing it up as if they were pipped at the post. If they stop up at our expense, so be it. It's just a personal view that Rotherham were the more competitive side throughout the season.

They weren't... Wycombe were...they finished above Rotherham.

  8. Can't believe some of these comments.Jos is playing in the biggest competition in Europe...He's playing alongside one of the best players in Europe and doesn't look out of place..yet he's supposedly rubbish and not good enough for a team who finished 4th from bottom of the second division...I seriously worry about the football knowledge of some of the posters on here.

Theyre credible until they turn out not to be. Until they turn out not to be, how could you know?

Hasn't Mel got a built in bull crap radar? When a stranger in the pub starts to give me a load of bull a alarm goes off in my head instantly..it never fails!

I agree, the chances of Wycombe staying up are remote but it is still mathematically possible.

Yep... just like it's possible to play  a round of golf course with a score of 18.. it's possible but highly unlikely.

Well...if we lose on Saturday, they beat Forest, draw with us the following week they go above on goal difference. I think.

I've a totally unfounded hunch that Rooney just didn't like him and persuaded Cocu to let him go.

But Frank also seemed to have his issues with Jack.He scored two goals v Leeds in the semi's then left him out of the Play off final.

Just gonna say, don't care what anyone says.. I rate Marriott. Just madness to send him away, after scoring our only open goal for quite a stretch in the early season, when we had no strikers as back up. Even if you thought he was tosh, surely its better to kept him around in case he reached some of his past form.

On that one decision of sheer stupidity, going from one striker to 0 fit strikers.. we arguably deserve to go down.

Agree 100! I remember Old Trafford and Elland Road...he showed his natural ability as a great striker. You don't get to perform like he did at those stadiums without pure instinctive ability. What went wrong behind the scenes I've no idea but I want him back in the summer.

Mathematical not safe but there are enough teams with less points to mean they are safe.  Excellent end to the season

Yep...Brum looked certainties for the drop a few weeks ago...then they appointed a well qualified professional manager and they haven't looked back! What a turn up!

they still have 2 games in hand on us and are only 4 points behind. I still fancy them to get something against Barnsley but probably nothing against Brentford. I'd imagine that'll leave them 3 points behind with 3 to play. I still think sheffield wednesday are our biggest worries- they've got boro and forest up next and they're both winnable for them. Obviously if we get a win against birmingham or swansea then we're doing ourselves a big help but i can't see us getting more than a point from those 2.

Really? Big local Derby and Barnsley are at home desperate for the win to cement their play off position? And with Rotherham's recent gruelling schedule I wouldn't like to call that one.
