When fans of other clubs on the Internet are more capable of doing due diligence than our own club its frankly embarrassing for whoever at DCFC let this get so far.

Fair points. As your post suggests, there isn't really a lot that Mr Morris can say. Anyone hoping that he will make a statement saying "don't worry Rams fans, things aren't great, but all will be OK" are, at best rather hopeful, at worst deluded.

Imagine if we raised £2 million then agreed upon a transfer target!
We could then boo him and ourselves at the same time ?

It's not a pound though is it, the pound is just the minimum legal amount a sale has to be for it to be valid.
The pound has in fact got about 200 million quids worth of strings attached unfortunately.

Alternatively, buy a football club and turn your large fortune into a small fortune....

You don't need £30mill to run the club. Get 20 volunteers from the fanbase to make up the playing staff on wages of £50k per year - might not win anything, but we wont financially bankrupt ourselves either. Football clubs do themselves in by offering stupid wages when they don't have Premier League money to pay for it.

A Trappist Monk seems positively verbose compared to Mel Morris.

europia reacted to Carl Sagan in Waghorn - What a (final?) performance!
Fantastic performance. But one good game doesn't make up for an appalling season. It's good he can leave on a high, but there's no way I'd give new contracts too any of Wisdom, Davies or Waghorn, unless they take a 90% cut in wages. And even then, Davies is a top bloke but he's ended his career in a good way (I thank him for that) and I reckon it's time to hang up his boots, not risk his body anymore and begin the glittering media career he's so obviously cut out for.

It’ll be a cunning plan..... take a £5m non refundable deposit from every would be buyer. 2 down 10 to go and we’ll be debt free (disclaimer, I have no idea what the value of debt is)

But all he offered was manure

europia reacted to Ellafella in Derby County “ate my newborn baby”.
As if things couldn’t get any worse for embattled Club Derby County, in a week when they have lost a case against them for “nefarious accounting practises” and also a case where they cruelly sacked long-serving captain Richard Keogh after the poor bloke had the temerity to share a few drinks with some team mates because he was thirsty after a training session, police may now believe that Rams Club owners, fronted by evil tyrant Mel Morris (aka “Mad Mel”) may possibly be behind a whole series of unsolved crimes across the region. In an exclusive interview a top police source may have said that they have no evidence to unequivocally rule out the possibility that Morris, aided by Club Head of Finance, Stephen Pearce (aka the real “Psycho”) were not behind a growing list of horrific unsolved murders, rapes, and drug deaths; “We can’t at this stage definitely say that they weren’t involved in some way in some of these things”.
As well as a possible 75 point deduction, a massive fine, and relegation, Morris and Pearce may well be running the Club from behind bars next season.
We haven’t contacted the Club to check any of the facts but if you have any evidence of Morris’s or Pearce’s involvement in any wrongdoing please don’t hesitate to contact any of the tabloid newspapers with your story.

Let's hope the powers that be are a bit more switched on now.
To have your pants pulled down publicly once is unfortunate, twice is just incompetence.

europia reacted to i-Ram in Was it really so bad to spend and try and get to Prem .
Portsmouth and Sunderland gambled big too.
Mel bought the club, and is entitled in many ways to spend as little or as much money he likes to chase his dream. He however had/has, in my view, a responsibility to have a long term plan to protect the best interests of our club, and as custodian to always be in a position to ensure that funds are available so the club does not go under. He remains a very rich man fortunately, so therefore there really is no reason why he should not keep funding the club until he has passed the baton to a new ‘fit and proper’ owner.
Spending money wasn’t really the problem Curtains. Having apparently no strategic plan (other than something about the ‘Derby way’), no decent (or at least assertive) senior executives, and hiring a rag tag bunch of managers has been the problem, changing our shape, systems, and playing personnel every managerial change.

I just don’t understand why Mel just doesn’t appoint a board and go and chill in the sunshine somewhere. The plan must be to work self sufficiently. Appoint people to operate with austerity, as there’s no other way!
