Good fit then for DCFC, considering the current state of affairs.....

Agreed. I remember being in a crowd of just 8000 at the BBG against Blackburn in September 1982 and that was just 7 years after we had won the league! Four months later with a new manager and owner 33,000 were packed in when we knocked Forest out of the FA Cup.

Is Bolder in for the season or will Eric be back? I like Steel, but I’d prefer him to be coaching our keepers.

Bit too fan boy for me. He shouted penalty! twice and it wasn't a stone wall.
Prefer to have Steele back for a bit more insight and perspective, but there's room for both. ?

The poor attendance is merely a reflection of fans feelings on a football club in a state of total disarray. Actually 16249 is commendable turnout, considering what supporters have had to put up with.

europia reacted to Rample in Season's Eve: How will it end?
Can't see anything but relegation.
Not saying we'll be rooted to the bottom and relegated by March, although deductions for past offences and potentially admin could change that, but over the course of the season I can see lean spells, injury/suspension crisises, naivity from players and manager, a lot more drama and ultimately a tailspin we can't get out of... and for me that sends us down with a couple of the promoted teams.
I hope I'm wrong but it is stacked against us right now.

That’s another £10m off the sale price

Before the Huddersfield game if possible !

europia got a reaction from Jimbo Ram in Season's Eve: How will it end?
Considering the strong possibility that we will sell a couple of our best players, along with Rooney's managerial deficiencies, and the club being in limbo financially, we are likely to be going down. However miracles do happen, and we will certainly need one to avoid the drop.

Want to play a game? I'll list all the free signings that have been rubbish for us and you list those that have been good... I reckon my list will be considerably bigger!

Being able to read on your part would help! Do you think no business's have been sold during this pandemic, that's what you have professional advisors for.
I don't know why MM has not found a buyer yet, however the most usual reason is usually the most obvious. Price!
The responsibilities are endless in owning and appointing people to run any business, but he wasn't forced into it.
He needs to face facts and sell asap

europia reacted to Hathersage Ram in Please don’t blame Morris and Pearce.
You are deluded, The precarious position MM has engineered regarding EFL and finances is entirely his fault!
Secondly if he was so desperate to sell, then the price would reflect that.
All this BS rhetoric from MM crying wolf regarding finances and only wanting whats best for Derby is in my opinion not worth the paper it's written on!

wasting your time
even if we did go under there will be still some who won't hear a word against him. I would guess these people would be the first to complain if this was an outsider

I can't believe this thread ever existed. Just let it sink in that without a takeover there will probably be no Derby County next season. Hide behind the EFL and covid all you like the facts are this situation has happened due to serious mismanagement at the top of this football club. Nobody else has control of the finances.

I think you need to wise up to the complete disaster MM is turning out to be. If you purchase any business you are responsible for it! In good and bad times. Just because you have decided to sell does not relinquish you of those obligations. I find it personally very unbecoming of MM to be crying wolf regarding finances.
As i think I remember from scriptures "who is the more generous, the man who has untold wealth who gives copiously or the poor woman who has nothing, but gives the church her last penny"
MM I think you need to stand up, and be counted!

The same article that said we were selling him to West Brom said we were buying QPR's Tom Carroll. Says all you need to know about credibility.

europia got a reaction from Pearl Ram in Poll: Do we fans need a 'pound of flesh' from Mel?
Yes I tend to agree. New owners unlikely in the foreseeable. Tough season ahead, but hopefully one avoiding relegation.

He can dream all day long about past glories. Unlikely to be any future ones, football wise..... but he apparently has other things to fantasize about.

I fear there will be plenty of time for those who want their voice heard. ie I don’t believe a sale is imminent. Surely Saturday should be about the joy of getting back in a ground and letting the players feel the love. ?♂️

europia reacted to Bris Vegas in Best penalty taker you've ever seen (for the rams that is)
In terms of the past 20 odd years, I don’t remember Steve Howard missing one. Head down, no pathetic stuttered run up, and just a hard-placed finish into the corner.
Harry Wilson was admittedly good. While our shoot-out win over Southampton in the playoffs 2007 was arguably an example of how to take perfect penalties. Those who stepped up and scored gave the GK no chance, even if he went the right way. Considering the occasion, nerves of steel.
