Wildsmith 6.5 Liked how he got the ball forward quickly. 
Chester 7.5 Looks impressive. Feels a good position for him.
Stearman 6 Unfairly singled out for the handball when it wasn't him.
Roberts 5.5 Didn't impact the game.
Cashin 7 Proper defender.
Mendez-Laing 7 Dangerous for the first hour and had a good attempt, before tiring.
Knight 6.5 Pleased to see him in midfield. Some strong runs but the winning goal was poor from him.
Bird 6 Needs to impose himself on the game more.
Sibley 6.5 Should have been given 2 pens, created 2 very dangerous attacks, got an opponent booked and would likely have scored if the ball had been laid back to him instead of a bad option to shoot by someone else. Not bad for 10+7 minutes.
Hourihane 4.5 Needs to impose himself on the game and WTF was that handball?
Barkhuizen 7 Brilliant run for the first goal and was dangerous running throughout. Shouldn't have waved his leg for the pen, but then he withdrew it and didn't touch the guy. Awful refereeing.
Dobbin 5 What does he do? A really easy overhead kick missed, then later our best chance of the half missed, for a 2-0 lead. You have to score those.
Collins 5 Great goal, but you don't leave your teammates in the lurch like that. Sending off (and then Hourihane's handball) cost us the game.
Osula 5.5 Ineffective.

Dreadful football, worse than watching Rowettball. It’s going to be a very, very long season. But, hey he wears a funny bobble hat ?

Disappointing today and the ref played is part but I hope the idolatry stops now and we appreciate this is still a difficult task which will take a lot of sorting out and there is no guarantee that Warne will do any better than Rosenoir.
He has my support but Warne's way of playing is going to be hard to impose on this set of players. 
Stearman's ridiculous handball turned the game even more than Collin's red card.

It just felt like the ref wanted to be centre of attention yesterday.
Think JC was unlucky to be honest, clearly wrestled to the ground in the box, decision given against him (and for the hour before that.) He shows his frustration against the pitch and looked genuinely surprised that he caught their player (if he properly did) 
Ref was a long way away from play and brandished the red before properly digesting what he (thought) saw.
Their player not even booked for pushing JC to the ground. 
I'm usually pretty balanced on these things and I think the ref got that wrong. Some bizarre decisions against us, just felt a bit dubious to be honest.
On Collins, it's a desperate shame for the guy. I think he's been good but a tough start at the club in some fans' eyes and just as it's coming good in front of goal, he has to sit it out for 3 matches. I think we'll struggle without him. 

3 goals in 2 games under Warne. 4 goals in his last 336 minutes on the pitch.
He'll be such an important player for us in our final 32 games, and my mo ey is still on him scoring at least 20 over the season.

This is really sad news. Well worthy of match day fans tribute and I will be participating, albeit remotely.

My nephew, Jake passed away on August 12th aged 23. Despite being dealt a bad hand he enjoyed life to the full possessing a sharp, dry wit and a fondness for dressing well - the other thing we had in common ? was our love for Derby County!
Many of you will recognise Jake, a life-long season ticket holder in the West Stand attending matches with his Dad.
His family are orchestrating a minutes applause at the 23rd minute during the Port Vale home match on Saturday October 8th.
Extended family will be in attendance and there will be a brief write up about Jake in the match day programme. 
These tributes are becoming more common, but I think that because they are often not official and fan-led they are even more poignant - and it would be a great gesture for one of our own.
Assistance in spreading the word from members of this forum would be so very much appreciated.

Tend to agree. This tournament could be considered somewhat inconsequential. For DCFC the gate receipts might only be break even financially. We obviously don't have much depth in the squad, so any injury from playing extra games in this competition would be most unwelcome. It's unlikely that we will be challenging for auto promotion, but a play off place should be possible and that should be the clubs priority. An early exit from the EFL Cup could be blessing.
