She said to me she wasn't bitter, angry or upset, she just felt nothing for him eventually, because he was a stranger.

Normal i reckon. I havent spoke to my 'father' for 30 years, never will again - honestly couldn't care less. My brother recently told me he's heard he has stage 4 cancer. When he dies it'll just be another day.

As this is the honest and open thread, we’ve been trying....2 years now. Tests in March to see why nothing has happened, hoping it’s down to my health and nothing serious.

    Congrats on the diamond mate.

We had 2 years of trying before our first. We had the tests and found out her ovulations were irregular and weak, and my swimmers were too pissed up. Our only option was ICI - they wouldn't offer us IVF because it was a lost cause.

I was having acupuncture at the time and mentioned it to him. He recommended we both go to see him before we try anything else, promising to have us both functioning correctly within a month. After a few pins we went back for another round of tests to find everything was normal. Two kids later and we stay well away from each other now.

    Good luck!

  3. Does anyone play Fortnite? I don't but one of my kids has decided it's better than real life. I was trying to find a fortnite based Christmas gift stocking filler  that he can use in the game - like can I buy him a nuclear weapon or something? Or a tank? I've seen some kind of bundle things you can buy that include skins and weapons I think - but I want to buy him summat cool. Is this a stupid question? I'm really old.

Just seen litter pickers in heanor

I used to do that job. And we had to empty the dog bins. It was horrible. And we used to get driven around just sat on the back of a pick up which is definitely illegal now and probably was then too. And then I got sacked for stealing contaminated cans of cat food out of a skip! And I didn't even do the crime, I just took the blame for the son in law of the boss who'd already blamed it on me then begged me in tears to back up his story. Actually in fairness I didn't get sacked for that but got a final warning because I think the boss knew it was actually his son in law that dunnit. I got sacked a few days later when I was supposed to be working on a Saturday morning but woke up in a car in Skegness with no recollection of how I'd got there. Great days.

    What were we talking about?

  5. I watched the whole thing with Serbian commentary - like I do all these pay per view things ?

Ruiz had visions of a knockout I think but Joshua was way too clever and kept well out of reach. Easy victory for him.

  6. I remember the midwife making me watch some stupid video to drill this rhyme into me like I was some kind of idiot...

"No matter how tired you feel... shaking the baby is a last resort"

    So patronising.

His fantastic achievements as a player shouldn’t come into the discussion. They are standalone.

I am saying in his managerial career, he has been handed jobs on a silver platter.

If I wanted a job as a football manager and I'd had the career in football that Frank has had - I'd at least mention it on my my CV.

Seriously though, it’s an insult to every manager slogging away for their big break, while Frank was given his on a silver platter.

I don't agree with that. Frank's in this position because he's devoted his life to the game. He's lived and breathed football and risen, on merit, to the very top. Regardless of who his dad or uncle are, he's in this position because of his own talent, hard work & professionalism. Yeah of course his family and connections gave him the best possible chance of success, but the levels he reached as a player could be achieved by very few.

  9. The silly mind games of Mrs Pastinaak.

She and the kids have been out all day leaving me and the dog to our own devices.

First thing she does when she gets in? Looks me up and down then hands me the car keys. "I forgot to go to the co op on the way home, can you nip?".

So I quite reasonably inform her that me and the dog stopped by the Jug & Glass on our walk at lunch and I had a half of lager so sadly I can't drive. She comes back with "Well that was 5 hours ago so that half will be well out your system by now, so can you nip?".

Of course I can't nip. I had 5 pints at the Jug and I've been necking Cobras all afternoon watching Spurs snap Toffee legs. She knows it and I know it.

This charade is becoming an all too regular occurrence.

Pleased for him, proving a lot of people wrong. Said it before and I’ll say it again, he will be the next England manager

He's had the same effect on the mood at Chelsea as he had here. He's doing really well. England manager definitely but I can see him having 10 years at Chelsea first.

I don't know how I feel about him going, but it would be funny if he's not able to win a game and gets sacked come October.

I'd like to get into football management. It must be one of the most exciting vocations in the world, if you're a football person.

If Rotherham offered me a job now I would take it. I'd do everything I could to make it a success, I'd immerse myself in the club and the town and I'd enjoy every high and low.

But If Derby came calling, no matter how much fun I was having at Rotherham, I'd go to Derby. I wouldn't be able to say no. Even if I didn't feel ready.

Rotherham's probably a bad example because it's an armpit but your get what I'm saying. Frank's only got one life like we have, he has to follow his little old heart.

  12. Manu and Liverpool is a tough start. A draw against Leicester isn't the end of the world either. Chelsea have Norwich and Sheff Utd next to steady the ship with 6 straight forward points. Then Wolves and Liverpool will properly show where they are.

I personally hope Frank does well.
