My mate said we already down.
I don’t believe him.
The odds are on us staying upId much rather be in our position than Rotherham or Wednesday
Definitely rather be in our position, particularly as we haven't been able to even pick up a point in the last six.

It's not worked out, in most cases I have agreed with his appointments and transfers but they have not come to fruition. I think the biggest mistakes lie in recent years appointing Cocu and signing Rooney with what appears to have been a prerequisite to be manager sooner or later, this for me is what has destroyed the club, we were at a cross road when Lampard left and all we have done is take wrong turns since.
Surely the biggest mistake was sacking McClaren the first time? He was under contract so we would surely have received compensation if Newcastle had appointed him?

To be fair they still finish top 6 every season and will likely be promoted in the next couple of years, if not this year. They'll come back in a better state than they were when relegated.
I think we'll be in a better position if we're not relegated, but if we are we'll deserve to be and will need to build from there.

I’ve got to admit, I’m quite looking forward to the idea if bossing league 1 for a season or 2, rather than the same old poo in the championship.
My Sunderland mate thought that too

Football club ownership is a lose/lose situation, doesn’t matter what they do, you’ve done it wrong.
They will be asked to sit in the corner, be quiet, just sign the cheques, but wait, why are they so quiet, we demand answers.
Cut back spending, be sensible, wait a minute we still want that £10m striker and £5m defender, and a £8m keeper....oh and don’t forget that £7m midfielder....but don’t you dare take us close to that FFP limit, no football club should be losing money.
Bored now, we need a new owner, anyone just get rid...wait not him, we don’t want him Jesus, but get rid asap.
Hold on, why’s this guy wanting to buy a second tier football club, I smell something fishy, what’s his intentions, why us, why not one of those football clubs that actually make money like erm...errrrrm....
Honestly, I could be the richest man in the world, sat in trillions in the bank account and I would never touch a football club, even Derby.
I could turn us into the next Man City and some would still have something to complain about, winning leagues, competing in Europe but yeah that David bloke what a @#%! for killing the atmosphere and turning us into a tourist fan club, all those fake fans over in Asia. I want to see us lose games, can’t remember the last time I saw us get a classic Derby tonking.
Now imagine football clubs owned by football fans, oh my, a group of Newcastle fans are looking to buy a stake in their club. Can already see the fall out there, desperate to get rid of Ashley they donate all they can, then Ant and Dec disagree over firing the manager, Cheryl Cole storms off wanting her £5.68 back as she thought one of the fans would be appointed manager.
Would not touch with a barge pole.
Totally agree. Whoever's in charge will always be 'shot at' by some. Mel has always had his heart in the right place - he loves our club - but has made mistakes. The trouble is, on here, we'd all pick out different mistakes. To be fair patience must be difficult - it's a results business after all. Being a glass half-full kind of person I'm going to wait and see what happens.

This is why there hasn’t been a takeover as yet. All hinges on the outcome of this.
You may well be right

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is a 2018 historical romantic-drama film directed by Mike Newell and written by Don Roos and Tom Bezucha. The screenplay is based on the 2008 novel of the same name, written by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. The film stars Lily James, Michiel Huisman, Glen Powell, Jessica Brown Findlay, Katherine Parkinson, Matthew Goode, Tom Courtenay and Penelope Wilton. Set in 1946, the plot follows a London-based writer who exchanges letters with a resident on the island of Guernsey, which had been under German occupation during World War II.
Saw the trailer in the olden days (early 2020) when we could go to the cinema. Eventually got round to watching it yesterday with my wife. We both thought it was great - 9/10.

It's not going to happen but his win rate when he was in charge is very impressive.

Currently re-watching Mad Dogs on NowTV (Sky) though not sure I've seen all the seasons. Brilliant TV - funny, bloody scary, emotional.

Congratulations. After having four of our own the best advice I can give is when they're teething use Anbesol - the other stuff's a waste of time. I tried it on my tongue and couldn't feel a thing for ages!

Great words.
For the past week or so i have been waking up dreading the day for no particular reason, it is then a draining uphill battle to claw it back.
I just seem to be getting more an more frustrated with modern living. i.e. office jobs & money chasing, poor nutrition available & no trust in foods, news (Brexit, trump, death, money), the internet etc. Sure i could go on.
I hope things are getting better for you mate. All the best.

Just signed up from South West Germany, having grown up literally in the shadow of the old Baseball Ground.
I usually only manage to get to 3 - 4 games a season, plus the Kaiserslautern and Karlsruhe pre-season friendlies and the Sky games, so this will make a big difference.
After lurking for many years as a guest, I have also decided to sign up for this forum, as I will be able to talk about football that I have actually seen.
Welcome and don't worry. There are plenty of comments made by people who haven't seen the football - it seems that way anyway

Totally deserved in my opinion. As I've said before I think Shinnie's very underrated by many. Obviously not as underrated as I feared though. He would definitely be my choice for Captain next season.
