After watching Paul Warnes Cambridge interview regarding the Josh Vicars situation, I can't help but feel we have it wrong about what we value in a manager.
I understand football is about results and success, but sometimes, seeing a managers humility and connection as a humanbeing with the players, especially at times of trauma, beats the lot for me.
I've been critical of Warne, as have a lot of us, but I would love nothing more than for Warne to get us promoted. I know his "let's be mates" mentality can be a bit cringe, and his 352 does your head in, but you can tell he really cares about those around him, and I would much rather be in the trenches with a man like Warne than someone coming here for a quick cheque.
I'm crossing everything that things go right on the pitch, but regardless of that, I just wanna commend him for the person he is.

    Salute to you Mr Warne.

Very sad news for Josh and his family, the support from his colleagues will be needed at a difficult time like this, sometimes there’s more to life than football. 😔
Perhaps something could be arranged by fans to show support at the home game? Applause at the 31st min or something?

Tomorrow feels like a sliding doors kind of game.
If we win, you could see a pathway for us to start building momentum, stringing results together and moving up the table. The next 8-9 games present a real opportunity to improve our form and lift the mood.
However if we lose, the pressure once again cranks up on Warne, the players and the staff. I honestly think the fanbase is wavering to the point where 4-5 more bad or uneven results could be Warne’s undoing.
It’s a very difficult game. Carlisle will be fired up to play one of the biggest sides in the division and get a scalp.
Here’s hoping for a positive, logical, balanced line up and a professional performance. Warne needs a nice anniversary present from the players.

    £2 million on a 30-year old with a 2-year contract? That’s a Mel Morris signing.
    1) We won’t have anywhere near £2 million and even if we sell Cashin (I hope we don’t), I’d be surprised if we reinvest more than one million.
    2) He would probably have zero resale value. Even with two good years, he then leaves on a free.
    3) We could do more by asking the EFL to remove this 2-year contract length. That hurts us more than anything.
If we are going to spend money - then get 2 or 3 x 500k players in the 22-26 category.
Hungry, can improve, can increase their value etc.

I was sat right next to dug outs today, never been that bear before. Such an interesting watch was Warne and his team. Barker shouts in the technical area, Hamshaw moans at the 4th, Warne ponders and Warrington organises the subs.
The best thing apart the win and Waghorn hat trick, Fornah absolutely loves it here. He kept on looking over at the away support in amazement. Then at the end coming off, huge huge grins when his song was being sung. He was absolutely buzzing for it. He's well and truly a Ram.

Days like this make supporting this rabble a pleasure 👌
I think the new signings must have had an effect on the first XI as the level of intensity was superb from minute 1. Unlucky to go behind, Rooney chose the wrong man to track & left their left wing to pick out Clarke Harris from 10 inches. Thereafter, went at them with Washington & Waggy running at them with the ball & pressing hard when not.
Suffice ro say the first 45 minutes were a thing of absolute beauty. My head hurt from the celebrating, loved every moment 🖤
A lot of fantastic performances & obviously Waggy takes it. I said to lad next to me before the game he's on for 25 this year, he's SO suited to this team & style of play. Three great goals & worked his backside off throughout. Big mention for Liam Thompson though...good grief, what a little player he's becoming. A tiger in front of his back 4 & a bone fide threat running into the final 3rd...the prospect of him & Fornah together is very exciting.
Back in Leeds now, few beers deep & 86 quid train ticket lighter cos of the strikes but with a silly grin on my face. Love you Derby 🖤

The response to Thompson and Rooney when they were subbed off spoke volumes. As far as I’m concerned they were the difference today, rather than going 4 at the back, or putting NML on the wing. I could never work out why, last season, when we needed someone who could hold the ball, use it well and move us forwards whenever possible we sent Thommo out on loan. I’m glad he’s back. But what on earth was Warne doing playing Thommo where he can be at his best?
Hourihane came in fir mention if his ambling round waiting for the free-kicks and corners, which provoked a fiery response from RD, but it is a fair observation. But his stupendous tackle set us up for our goal so that’s ok by me!
Today was much netter than Tyesday night, although with hindsight I wonder whether that was the players telling Warne to stop with his one-dimensional tactics, and even though we only won 1 - 0 against a team we should see off easily, it was the result we needed. The rest can follow. However there were two very, very good calls  for penalties, both for fouls on Waggy which were blind-eyed. Us that 4 or 5 penalties thus season already? We had a clear run on goal which was pulled back when the advantage should have been played. And for the second match in a row Derby ended up with a stack of yellow cards, virtually all of them for absolutely nothing, such as NML, who barely touched the Fleetwood man. While Fleetwood should have 4 or 5 more than they did. Pundits and fans alike keep asking for greater consistency. Sadly they are already consistent, and as far as D FC are concerned it is all one way.
So on to Bolton via Peterborough. At least by then all the players Paul has lined up to bring in “by the end of the week” will give us a squad nearly as big as a Nottingham Forest subs bench. Or the same squad as before. 🙄
    Nevertheless, COME ON YOU RAMS!

Play the 3 at the back & wingbacks for the away games on the small pitches and try and play more football at home with a more tradional formation
Would be able to naturally rotate a lot of players then for different types of games

Bad results happen, but if anyone can pick a redeemable quality out of the philosophy and setup we are currently seeing on the pitch I'm all ears, because I can't see any and that is far more concerning than a the scorelines.
