The Goodies have been on SKY recently showing some of the old episodes.
There was one in which the end of the world was due in 30 minutes and they had to try and fit in as much as they could before the world ended at midnight. Tim was distraught that there would be no more Derby County.

I know this has been done to death elsewhere in the forum but I genuinely couldn't care less about the FA cup this season.
Avoid a replay, avoid injuries, focus on the league.

During the anguish abour the survival of DCFC, the content of this forum was fantastic - a tribute to the club's traditions and the fanbase.
I doubt the Samaritans could have done a better job in comforting the many loyal fans deeply anguished by events and the possible liquidation of one of the beating hearts of the Derby and Derbyshire community.
This forum also created and published many calls to action nationally and locally which attracted so many favourable headlines and must have played their part in the eventual rescue of the Club.
Our national prestige soared, generated a lot of national sympathy and support, and led to tremendous gates and match support even when we lost.
However, since LR was replaced by PW, I wonder if I am alone in noticing a downward spiral in the objectives and quality of some contributions. Yes, we are all entitled to our opinions, but do we not need to temper the expression of them by considering the effect on the DCFC owner, staff and players who are becoming the target of some vitriol?
Some of us seem to forget our debt to our new owner. And seem to forget the laborious keep-ball of LR which we had endured for more than the current season and which had led to so many away defeats and the inability even to score a goal for match after match.
This forgetfulness is accompanied by totally unrealistic expectations of what the new owner and manager should achieve. And ignorance of just how effective League 1 opposition can be when pumped up by the adrenalin of facing the high and not so mighty DCFC.
It is sadly well known that social media can inflict a lot of harm on its targets. For the sake of our Club and those on its payroll and the person who bankrolls our payroll, may I plead for some moderation and realism please?

Watch the Hale and Pace video on Youtube "Yorkshire Airlines" plus another one entitled "Yorkshire Zulu". It is all true and yes I have a strong Yorkshire accent. Just a shame Leeds is in Yorkshire!!!

You are spot on with that. All though I live in Sheffield we are right on the edge near the snake pass and 10/15 minutes drive to Hathersage.
My favourite pubs are all in Derbyshire around Castleton/Eyam and Hathersage.

In the mid nineties I was manager of the Safeway in Alfreton and thought it would be a good idea to ask Dean if he would come in one Christmas wearing the Rammie outfit for an hour and surprise the kids shopping with their parents.
It was a disaster. The first child he saw burst into tears and there were more Forest parents who were not happy to be approached by Rammie than Derby fans. We laughed about it afterwards but for weeks after I was given a hard time by Forest fans shopping in the store.

I went to the last match of the season when the Owls went down after losing at home to Man City. Derby finished fourth in their first season in the old first division that season.
I remember we lost 5-0 at Southamton in the league Cup in 1974 and I decided I would support Liverpool instead. ( I was only young)

I actually agree with a lot of what you've said there in relation to FFP. There is plenty of blame to go around for that, but the EFL should take plenty as there were ways in which the mess could have been sorted without constantly pushing for a points deduction. They also know the whole FFP thing is massively flawed, but still decided to make life as difficult as possible for us.  Even so, if FFP were the sum-total of our problems, we could've stomached the 9 point deduction and still have a reasonable chance of staying up.
The administration is a completely different thing and must be all down to Mel I'm afraid. Either he ran out of money (in which case he should've reined in spending earlier) or decided to stop providing the funding (in which case, while I understand it can't be much fun peeing £1m a month up a wall, he took on that responsibility when he bought us and with or without COVID allowed things to get this bad). Putting us into administration definitely confined us to League 1, probably means selling whatever few assets we have left, means we'll be struggling on a shoestring for years and, ultimately, puts the club at risk of going under completely and disappearing. That is completely unforgiveable.

With most takeovers the successful buyers are the ones who just go about their business under the radar and then the deal is announced.
Kirchner was too vocal. Appleby is still the favourite in my book. No evidence just a gut feeling.

In 7 games through March into April of the 2018/19 season Middlesborough lost 6 games in a row and drew one.
If they want to sue anyone they should sue themselves for picking up just 1 point out of a possible 21 during this period and they fell short of sixth place by one point plus our goal difference was better.
Apart from that are they saying that if they had reached the play-offs they would definately have won the semi and the final.
Can anyone really take their claims seriously???
