Thoroughly enjoyed the game tonight. Very glad I went. Good strong team selected, played some good stuff at times.

Jake Rooney will play premier league. He’s wasted at CB he’s a DM, seen him 3 times now, he could be better than Bielik.
Kwaku is improving rapidly, poor against Mansfield and not ready, improved as game went on against the Baggies, continued where he left off tonight. Thought he was excellent.
Roberts was frustrating tonight. Dobbin is raw at times looks amazing, other times can’t control a ball. Tommo did ok and all the senior pros (I include Sibley in that) did well, what does Collins have to do.
Then I hear Scott Loach’s interview afterwards. What an amazing culture being built here started by Rooney and continued by Liam. Really starting to think this could be the start of something special.

I’ve seen him play much better, think he can do more going forward, passed backwards a lot, could do better with some of his crosses. Just thought it was a frustrating inconsistent performance him which is going to happen. I like him, think he’s got loads of potential, would be great when we’re out of the business plan scenario if we could get him permanently.

As a comparison I thought Oduroh was better than him tonight which I never would’ve thought possible a few weeks back, says more about the rate of Oduroh progression than Roberts who IMO had a bit of an off night by his standards.

Just wanted to put in a good word for James, he worked tirelessly tonight against Grimsby and you can tell the crowd are on his side trying to get him his first goal which is refreshing to see.
He runs and runs and runs, is getting in the right positions and really pushes defenders back and out of place. Hoping his goal comes this week or as soon as possible and he can then carry on firing.

Another win. After the first few minutes you could see we were a level better but Grimsby did come to play football so you have to give the. Some credit. It was quite marked how they came out fighting for the 2nd half, eager, pressing not giving up. That said their No26 was a grunt and whichever CB felt it was OK to wrap his arms round Bart Cybolski (sorry about the spelling ) repeatedly, the  pull his shirt, do some all in wrestling all under the watchful eye of a ref who missed 4 blatant hand balls.

NML is a beast and what I love is that he isn’t a one trick pony, he goes inside, outside, plays 1/2, passes it forward sideways, keeps it, knocks it. He’s a pleasure to watch. And on that theme .. how on earth did we get McGoldrick ? He’s a magician.
I guess the quality of the opposition flattered us but Rooney looks as solid as a brick wall, sensible, hard but also skilled enough to push forward. Looks so comfortable. Fozzy .. what a calm performance looked exactly what a real old head should be and some great decision making, header wining leadership. Sibbo is loving his 10 role isn’t he ! I expected him to be behind Collins but he seemed to take the central role more than JC who was doing lurking at the back RH post. It’ll come James, just keep at it. Collins also set up a couple of chances and did an epic over head clearance. The guy is a team player in the roughest of patches. Needs our support.
What a great bloke Loach sounds. Did a sound job. TBH I thought their goal was offside (but I am biased)
The young lad that came on for Max looks solid too. Played it simple and made a cracking tackle. Brave, not over awed. I’m liking Kwaku, he’ll make the grade, Roberts continuous good effort. Tommo terrier did well despite the odd misplaced pass.

Good night out, 3 goals, learned some more. Extra chillis on mine next time please

Well I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed being in the away end yesterday. My wife’s life long best mate was on a train back from London yesterday morning, got chatting to Spurs fans who said the they had some tickets as they’re gang couldn’t make it.  Her husband (my mate) is a life long spur and season ticket holder. Two tickets, he thought he can’t take a Forest fan or a neutral, how about someone who hates Forest more than anyone he knows!! Impromptu but very welcome!

Observations: The red dogs support was actually good today. Never backed them like that in the championship.  Plastics
The announcer still calls it the world famous city ground ?????
Chants were “Forest are magic, all around the pitch”, obviously we had “champions of Europe you’ll never sing that”, to which I liked the Spurs response “Champions of Europe, you weren’t even born” and now they’re in the premier league we can’t possibly have one version of mull of kintyre oh no, it has to sung pre match and at start of the second half, with them being world famous n all that song is as synonymous with them as You’ll never Walk Alone with the scousers.
They played ok, but they huffed and puffed and Spurs cut them open at will. The Yates and Williams chances they can’t afford to miss those, especially the Yates one. Despite spending £150m+ they look toothless. I also think Spurs suit them in they’re a counter attacking team, they don’t really press. That back 3 isn’t good for premier league level and if they are pressed they will have problems. Well deserved win for Spurs although seeing Harry Kane miss a penalty (good save by that arrogant Bamford Henderson) was an I was there moment, never seen him miss a pen.
And they didn’t sell out, I saw about 40 or 50 seats empty by the away fans. However I’m guessing that’s season ticket holders who couldn’t make it or Maranakis charging ridiculous prices. I know a few who couldn’t get tickets to join the bandwagon.

Well took both my kids today (first time with both), 5 and 3, enjoyed it though a struggle at times and then meltdown when we walked all the way through the north stand to get to rammie to be told no more photos. Gutted. (I wanted the photo not the kids ?)
As for the game. We were crap. Let’s be honest. Good first 10-15, good last 5 mins of the first half, then we were ok last 15 chasing the game. In between no control of the game, many below par performances and while Peterborough were marginally better we still created the best chances. Can’t say we deserved the win but we deserved something. But we got the goals when it mattered, if only we had been as clinical in the away games we’d be top.
Weve had a difficult start against teams who nearly all will be vying for the playoffs, 11 points from 6 and top 6 is decent and we’re nowhere near our potential. It’s promising.
In terms of performance today, shout outs to Knight who was excellent throughout, Barkhuizen who was always a threat, Sibley who always looked likely to create something and Collins who ran all day with little reward. McGoldrick was excellent when he came on, Dobbin had a poor game but produced 2 or 3 moments of real quality when it mattered including the assist for the winner. Of those below par, thought Bird and Hourihane were both off it today think partly due to Peterborough shutting them down.

We take the points and we move on. 26400 again today - we’re doing our bit and currently players are doing theirs though there is massive potential still to be unlocked and we need to unlock it if we’re going to meet our aspirations this season

I hate League one. Horrendous officiating, no goal line technology, salty small clubs, and I can’t lie as much as I deny it it makes it a damn sight worse with the scum in the premier league spending £150m+, unless Maranakis’ impulsiveness and impatience leads to a spectacular implosion and destruction it will be years until we’re at their level.

However, the only positive is that where Leicester have long reached (surpassed) their ceiling and are now on the slide, Notts Forest are close to their ceiling and don’t have much to be excited about once they get past the euphoria of this season and possibly next they’ll be on the slide again, Derby are on the floor which means we have an incredible journey like those witnessed in the 80s to get back to our ceiling which is mid-table premier league (same as Forest’s), if we can get autos and the pizza trophy in the next couple of years  it will give me amazing memories and maybe even followed by a championship playoff final win in a few seasons which would be incredible. With some of the players we have, while it’s tough with the business plan restrictions we could build some momentum which means should we get up this season we could well be competitive in the championship. We have at least two players who would walk into top 6 championship teams (Bird and Knight)   with two others very capable of joining them (Cashin and Sibley)
Being on the floor means there’s only one way to go and that’s up so I’m going to enjoy the ride.

Spurs looked exactly the same against Wolves, it’s entirely their style of play to allow the other team to have the ball until they reach the final third. It makes teams look threatening when they aren’t.
