One thing I loved about the BBG was its complete lack of symmetry, its awkward angles and differing heights and levels. it was a story of gradual evolution. But what a place to go, starting at age 8 in 1968, every experience you can imagine in that place, including a measure of "fear" as me Dad insisted on us standing in the Pop Side Columbo where increasing numbers of away supporters stood as the 70s progressed. Also, the final whistle "journey" to the exit in the Ossie End corner was not for the feint hearted, you could start off together but the swirl of people would lift a kid off his feet and move you about 10 yards away. My Dad used to say, if we get separated, I will meet you near the Hot Dog stall, on the Corner of Columbo Street and Shaftsbury.
But the situation changed a bit when more of the Derby "vocal"support moved to the Ossie End, as their exit was next to the exit for most away supporters leaving the Pop Side........it was often "interesting" there or as we say today "tasty"

Time for another trip down memory lane, there is a lot of uncertainty around at the moment with the same old diatribe being repeated verbatim on all the social media sites so how about we post some of our favourite images of the old place, no need to wallow in glorification but we could do with a collection of photos, memories and pictures to remember those days gone by , Stevie Bloomer, FA Cup ties, penalty spots repainted, seats flying through the air like frisbees, big norm and Frannie Lee, juventus, Real Madrid, fans around the pitch v Fulham, Shaftesbury Ave, Cambridge St, The Baseball Hotel, Champions of England, Todd and McFarland, King Kev, Charlie, Wanchope, Clough and Taylor, Docherty, Arthur, The Bald Eagle, Van der Laan at the back post, Popside, Ossie End, C Stand, The Paddocks, Man United in the 79s man United in the 80s, Leeds, Chelsea, Dave Mackay, Champions of England again, bomb damage in the war
Embracing the past is not the same as being stuck in the past and at a time when the future is so uncertain what’s the harm !
For those of us that went to the BBG it’s not the sort of place you forget.
im thinking next year of recording some memories and uploading them to a virtual museum type website as pat of a Rams Heritage project, so thought would be good to test it out.

Proper ground that. Not knocking Pride Park - a very good stadium in its own right - and perhaps it’s simply an age thing too, but I used to love walking up to a match at the BBG. Haven’t really felt the same way since the 1990’s.

So to be clear, Reading who have breached FFP to a higher degree than us will get the same 9 point deduction, but will not have had to put up with the same two years of embargos, denial of the COVID loan, repeated disciplinary processes, legal action from other clubs, being branded cheats in public with no ability to respond?
The EFL are a ducking joke. The process Derby have had to endure is so massively disproportionate to the breach that it's not even funny. Villa, QPR, Reading, Leicester, Bournemouth etc. None of them had to deal with even a fraction of the nonsense we have, and they all breached FFP to a greater degree.
duck the EFL, duck this season. Blood the kids, see which ones are ready for League One, as for the integrity of the competition? duck that as well. Don't care.

I thought this as soon as we went into admin and started selling out away ends. We should say we aren’t selling away tickets as we haven’t got an operating ticket office and then keep the money in our own club by purchasing home tickets.
whilst we’re at it, put all away tickets in our ground upto £40-£50 and fleece other fans. They hate us anyway so may as well add another thing to their list.

we should definitely not sell any boro tickets !!!!

Well guys I say we keep behind the lads and show them our love but towards the efl we need to show them our anger at them. It is bad enough that dragged our good name through the mud. But even worse they kepted money that could well have needed so mel could pay back money we owe to people.
Well time is now to fight for our club and if efl think this is over by the fans they very very very sadly wrong.

However to the person sitting next to me I sincerely hope you will not be choosing to sit next to me all season.... Joswiak did not have a great game but calling him every name under the sun , swearing , talking about his nationality as a slur is not on. Every time he did anything wrong #@$%#$ got up and clapped when he went off " yeah get off you useless @@#$$# absolutely no need!

I remember digging through dusty glass plate negatives in Winter's cellars decades ago and unearthing an early Rams image thought to be around 1885, an assortment of shirts they had on; it was printed in the Winter's Collection book. So sad that during the Second World War many of their negatives were cleaned and used for greenhouse glass, such was the need back then, those images lost forever. And if you look at the 1946 Cup Final shirts and shorts the players had to wear, tatty and having seen many seasons' wear – one size fits all – nothing like the official kit with collars they had on for the posed team photo later.

After years of work and research here it is !
The Derby County shirt worn in the inaugural season of 1884 by the pioneers of our club, Cambridge Blue, Amber and Chocolate Brown the first colours of the Rams, it was thought that the early colours were blue but it was a shade of blue called Cambridge Blue which is actually more of a green. The badge was the badge of the Derbyshire FA that a player was permitted to wear if they had been selected to represent the Derbyshire FA.
we have had two made by a local tailor after we sourced the correct colours and the materials, the embroidery was done separately, even down to mother of Pearl buttons, it is to add further integrity to the book but moreover to show where the club evolved from, the team that wore these colours set the precedent for all those that have followed, the shirts will be on display at our Rams Heritage roadshows later in the year.
brought to life after 137 years by Phil Lowe & Jason Shardlow.
