BucksRam reacted to Gringo in Experienced manager
Chris Hughton, a name that has been mentioned on this board as an experienced manager we should/could have bought in after Cocu was fired, is doing really well at Notts Forest, 3 games in and the cognoscenti in the Trent End are screaming you don’t know what your doing and demanding he is fired after 3 games. My point is that any managerial appointment is a crap shoot and can end in disaster no matter what the length of managerial experience, therefore I would state categorically our manager is not doing badly as a novice.
If not for the 11 minutes of Gibson time at Peterborough we would now be top of the league, I for one am very happy with the current situation at the Rams

Don't think anyone is getting carried away to be honest. It was a good win, an enjoyable game to watch too and folk are understandably buoyed. Emerging from an epidemic, supporting a club enduring a couple of years you could not even make up, most will take their small mercies where they find them.

Tough game this one, but they're not great at defending IMO so let's play the same way we did against Hull, use the speed and fluidity we showed there and we're in with a good chance of back to back wins. I'd be more than happy to take a draw in all honesty but a win will be oh so satisfying if not just to see Warnock ranting and raving at the end for some deemed injustice and Gibson chewing on a lemon.

The coverage reminds me of the camera work on The Golden Shot, when Bernie the bolt stepped forward and the camera focused on the target.

Good analogy - to play international level cricket these days you have to be fit...very fit, especially as a fast bowler. He doesn't look at all out of place playing with cricketers 10 or 15 years his junior. Plus when he plays with the likes of Archer, you can see him put his arm around him, providing support and advice. Jags will do similar here.

Has anyone checked in our mate in Bristol after this latest development and the announcement of our new signings?
Presumably his head has exploded and he's just slumped in his chair until his mum gets worried that he hasn't demanded another Capri Sun and decides to check in on him.

Honestly, I swear that most of the reason other fans seem to hate us so much is the sheer amount of gibberish that gets posted about what we've allegedly done, and people just believe it. I saw one guy on reddit confidently stating that we'd been found guilty of running 2 parallel sets of accounts, giving one to HMRC and the other one to the EFL. People still think we were found guilty over the stadium sale. The whole paying Rooney a coaches salary to avoid FFP thing.

Yes, they're like a lynch-mob, which is very typical of Twitter. But you even see it in the Guardian comments, especially from fans of clubs who've been punished themselves. Birmingham fans are particularly bitter, which is rich when you consider they got a points deduction when they were in mid-table and unlikely to make the play-offs or be relegated. They also still insist they did nothing wrong.
Forest fans though are probably the biggest hypocrites, given the number of times their club was reported to have failed to pay the players on time under Fawaz, for which they received no sanctions at all.

Anyone else absolutely loving the meltdown on Twitter from other fans following the extension, especially from Forest, 'Boro or Birmingham fans from what I've seen? The complete lack of understanding or appreciation about what's gone on is incredible.

I don't go to games to be honest, living over a 100 miles away and with no-one around me to go with, plus work/family commitments, it's just not really doable. I do however fervently follow DCFC daily, through this forum, online and watch every televised game. I also catch some of the U23 games.
I do have a Rams Lite membership, if not to at least give the club some coffers. Have I lost interest? Nah. Have I lost confidence and feel beaten down by the club I've supported for 45 years. Yes. Maybe COVID hasn't helped but every time I open this forum, Twitter, Face Book, NewsNow or anything else, I do so expecting yet another problem and generally aren't disappointed. At the moment it's just one thing after another. I was so pleased to see Stretton score the other day, thinking and hoping that, do you know what, 4 points in our first two games would be great. But no. This is Derby - we not only lose, but CKR is crocked for 3 months. And we then sign a CB who's almost as old as me, and a striker whose goal scoring record can be counted on the hands of a T-Rex. I guess it's a sign of where we're at as a club.
One day soon, I hope, I'll only see positive news but right now, supporting this great club of ours is hard on my soul. Melodramatic maybe, but having faced so much personally over the past 20 months, I could really do with us getting a break! However, I'll keep smiling {through gritted teeth} ?

True but having both had covid (pre jabs and public awareness) which put my wife in hospital on a nebuliser, I guess it put us on the back foot. That said life is moving on.

Early days still I suppose.
I was anxious at first being around people when things started opening up but that has now almost gone.
@BucksRamseems to have a valid reason for being wary and but I don’t know anyone who is “living in fear” based on propaganda.
I’m not saying they don’t exist, just that some people will take longer than others to get back to normality, so I disagree that it will never return for many people.
